Madeleine McCann - we need YOUR help to try and find this little girl.

This is slipping from the news and the police are starting to scale down their seraches.

Evidence seems to suggest that Madeline may have been taken to Spain and yet very few people out there are aware of what has happened or what she looks like etc.

We need to send as many emails as we can to Spanish businesses with a poster attachment and highlight this case.

I need mumsnetters to volunteer.

I have called in sick today to get this started but this is a massive task and I cannot do it on my own.

Please let me know if you can help.

In any case while this has all been escalating, it would have been useful if you had notified Mnet that the alleged dream had been written off and by who and, as an aside, why would the media involve you in anything - surely if you post on the net it's a free for all.

Regardless, to everyone out there who has worked hard to circulate Madeleine's posters etc, and is out there getting any piece of information relevant to Madeleine's whereabouts - keep going! As the McCann family have already stated, any piece of information no matter how irrelevant it may seem could be crucial to bringing Madeleine home.

I DID NOT WRITE THE DREAM. I wrote a blog post discussing the case. I write a blog. I often comment about things in the news or things that have upset me or interest me. That's what blogs are for.

I don't see why I should have informed mumsnet of anything, I've only discovered half an hour ago that it was even being discussed on here.

Wasn't suggesting you wrote it. It was your blog and I assume you moderate what appears on it - hence the 'why did you post it'?

Haven't had time to read through the whole thread but just had a thought about spreading the word.I know that it is not English people that post on here and wondered if there are any spanish, american or whatever that would be able to register on parenting sites in their own countries and start threads and post some links. Sorry if it has already been done. I take it there must be parenting sites in other countries too

I was wondering if they have checked the bills/video survelliance(if any) of the tapas restaurant the night of the abduction, cause I would of thought that an accomplice of the abduction would be keeping a very close eye on the MCcanns and maybe keeping in radio contact, letting the takers of Madeline know that they were not on there way over to the apartment.

The McCann family just made a statement. They are overwhelmed by the support they have had. Their website - www.bringmadeleinehome.com - had 5m hits today. They still need help and are trying to get the photos of Madeleine across Europe in case she's no longer in Portugal so appealed for people to keep sending out posters. Apparently many companies are now including a photo of Madeleine in all their outgoing emails. Let's keep sending posters out to as many people as possible.

news alert police searching for a red van with a girl answering Madeleines description in Lisbon

the van has been checked out and has false plates there is also a press conference from police at 6pm

New to this site so firstly... hello to all!

Wondering what alerted police to the red Ford van and the fact that it has false plates in the first place..... Is it due to Madeleine's description being circulated? Surely they shouldn't take long to locate and check it out?

My heart skips a beat when I see headlines such as 'police searching for red van' because this could actually endanger her life if someone knows that the police are on to them. This is exactly the reason why the Portugese police keep so many details from us.

welcome chele it was a member of the public who rang the police with the plate and its false,amberrose i do agree,there is an awful lot going on behind the scenes we have no knowledge of i presume which is good,lets just hope and pray that its her.

MCCANN FAMILY ASKING FOR IDEAS ON HOW TO FIND MADELEINE SKY NEWS

For all you psychic sceptics, just to let you know that there are supposed to be at least 3 english psychics working with the police in Portugal. I used to be a cynic until I found out a friend of mine is psychic. I certainly hope they are right and that Madelaine will come home soon. Many thanks for the posters - they are being emailed out to Mums in spain in the hope that they will be put up in their cars etc.

We must all focus on ways in which we can constructively help in the search for Maddy and pass on any ideas you may have on how to find her. For example, does anyone know if the Portuguese, Spanish and European posters have a number that people can ring anonimously if they may have seen anything? There are many ex pats and ex criminals living outside the UK who may not want to approach the police and give their details. Also, have people volunteered to set up stalls as Mrs Murat did so that people can come forward? Who do I email with any ideas? Please help.

This was posted on the other thread yThis message was started this morning by Phil McCann, Madeleine's uncle. 3-year old Madeleine was abducted whilst on holiday in Portugal 13 days ago.

Please pass on if you can, (and translate it if necessary).

As you are aware my niece is still missing and I am asking everyone I know to send this as a chain letter i.e. you send it to everyone you know and ask them to do the same, as the story is only being covered in Britain, Eire and Portugal.

We don't believe that she is in Portugal anymore and need to get her picture and the story across Europe as quickly as possible. Suggestions are welcome.
