This is slipping from the news and the police are starting to scale down their seraches.

Evidence seems to suggest that Madeline may have been taken to Spain and yet very few people out there are aware of what has happened or what she looks like etc.

We need to send as many emails as we can to Spanish businesses with a poster attachment and highlight this case.

I need mumsnetters to volunteer.

I have called in sick today to get this started but this is a massive task and I cannot do it on my own.

Please let me know if you can help.

first outing of Karen's dream

jampot · 17/05/2007 00:13

of course Pewari is a MNer so she will be able to back it all up anyway

mumemma · 17/05/2007 00:15

The Brian one was definitely reported by the 12th, and possibly earlier.

layman · 17/05/2007 08:55

Sorry I so want to hope that madeleine will be found alive but I've read other 'predictions' to the contrary re. the outcome which is very sad. I hope and hope she will be found alive. After reading brianspredictions I really did feel that there might be a positive outcome but after reading this- well i just points out to me how you would cling to good news from these people, when i've read bad ...mmm why do we do this to ourselves.

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 17/05/2007 09:04

thre dream stuff is shtie

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 17/05/2007 09:06

pklease you didnt email a dream ota the family

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 17/05/2007 09:40

No. to try to convince the family of these dreams, or to even contact them about it, is wrong on every conceiveable level.

I think that what is being done further down this thread, ie emailing Madeleine?s poster around the world/contacting companies/trying to offer support to the family etc is great. But I think that if you start emailing people with details of psychic predictions you?ve found on the internet and try to convince people to follow up on the dreams of some woman whose credentials you know nothing about other than what you?ve read of her on the www, then you stand to lose any credibility you may have had with the family, and with any of the companies you may have contacted with reference to the distribution of these posters.

Anyone can claim to be a psychic. Anyone can claim they?ve seen this, and that, Derren Brown did it to prove just how easy it is. 99% of so-called psychics are fakes. Don?t do it, and stop reading up about it on the internet because it?s a load of claptrap. If it was a reliable way to get information, it would be the first port of call for authorities investigating this kind of crime. Let it go.

mumemma · 17/05/2007 09:46

Apparently the papers and police have been inundated with psychic/dream stuff.

BigPantsRule · 17/05/2007 09:58

"however Karen's dream is making me think she may even kmow something and is trying to let someone know without implicating herself - apologies if this isnt the case" - if there is any possibility of this then perhaps you should forward the information to Crimestoppers, with verification that you (and others) read the posting BEFORE anyone named Sergei was mentioned in the news? The police can then decide what to do with the information.

WhoBuiltTheArkNoahNoah · 17/05/2007 10:03

no cos oyu lot are utter weirdos

ThatBeetroot · 17/05/2007 10:04

can someone email google and see if they will put something on their home page?

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 17/05/2007 10:06

and how many calls like that do you think that crimestoppers get every day - do people think they have nothing better to do than to listen to the ramblings of some fruit loop who claims to have all the answers?

It's a load of crap, and I sincerely question the sanity of anyone who believes in it.

Aloha · 17/05/2007 10:07

I think it is normal to feel very sad about this case, to feel empathy with the parents, to worry about a missing child, but my god, I am finding this gruesome speculation and psychic nonsense extremely distasteful. This has now gone way past sympathy for some people (and is the opposite of sympathy in some cases).

WhoBuiltTheArkNoahNoah · 17/05/2007 10:07

im wiht the hawaain gal

BigPantsRule · 17/05/2007 10:10

I thought I made it clear - NOT a psychic report but a suspicion that someone knows something about the case and this is their way of getting it into the open. The name coincidence is too great IMO and MNers can corroborate that they read this BEFORE the recent news reports.

WhoBuiltTheArkNoahNoah · 17/05/2007 10:16

who cares
leave it to the coppers

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 17/05/2007 10:18

oh wait, how to get something into the open without drawing suspician to oneself - of course, publish it on the internet, so easy to do it discretely there.

quietmouse · 17/05/2007 10:19

I have had a reply from Tunisian Tourist board HQ saying they have forwarded my email/posters onto their head office and the Tunisian Embassy.

They are asking me why I think the suspect is now in North Africa....

I think I'll just say it's a possibility.

Aloha - yes - a seancwe will be organised next [!!)

AmberRose · 17/05/2007 11:24

I am not convinced that Maddie was snatched by a paedophile ring because in these cases, the child is usually snatched during a random opportunity and not in a carefully planned abduction. I suspect she was indeed taken to order for illegal adoption or for a local childless couple. Going back to basics - why did no one else in the complex hear someone breaking into the appartment the night she was taken. It was only 10pm when most people (especially those with younger children) would have been in their apartments. Someone knew exactly how the shutters on these windows worked and may have worked or stayed in the complex. The surrounding area was very deserted at that time but no one noticed any vehicle parked close to the apartment. An escape vehicle would have been parked up for quite a few minutes whilst the abduction was taking place which leads me to believe she was carried away. It probably would have taken 2 people to carry out the abduction because to carry a 4 yr old from her bed, out of the window and keep her from making a noise would have been very difficult for one person. She won't be far away because even though people are saying she may be in another country, they have to have had a secure house to take her to and that doesn't seem feesible especially if you're on the run with an abducted child. If your're going to take a child for some sort of illegal adoption racket in Spain then you'd probably abduct a child from spain in the first place. Whoever took her must be a local in order to know the best escape root without being spotted at all. I am convinced she is still alive and will be found, the question is when?

AbbaTsmum · 17/05/2007 12:18

Ok

I have just read through the inf on Madeleine released yesterday at the football match, which states 'any information at all, no matter how insignificant you feel, it could be could be crucial to bringing Madeleine home.'

I already added the hypothesis of 'Karen's dream' - e.g. could it be a veiled disclosure of Madeleine's whereabouts? - to Martin Blunt's blog 'life of crime' with a caveat to the parents of Madeleine on cranks - apologising for any possible offence - for some reason, it did not appear on the blog. However, the point being that Karen's dream could be precisely that - a veiled disclosure and whilst some on this site may poo pooh the idea because it was allegedly a dream - in actuality, it may not be a dream at all. I say - contact whoever you feel is relevant in this instance - FYI Madeira is a small island of the Swest coast of Portugal!

BigPantsRule · 17/05/2007 12:32

I agree, AbbaTsmum. My geography isn't too hot so had to look up Madeira on the map. Your theory makes sense. However, if the police have searched SM's flat they will have already found details of his interests in Madeira. I expect this is already being investigated. Worth pursuing, though.

Pewari · 17/05/2007 13:00

Sorry to butt in, but as the owner of the blog (and a mumsnetter - I usually post under a different name) that the "dream" comment was written of, I just wanted it made clear for the record that:

a) I have nothing to do with the commenter who wrote the "dream" on my blog and I want to completely distance myself from that.

b) "Serge" and its derivatives (Sergey, Sergio, Sergei, etc) are a fairly common name in many european countries and is not a miraculous guess. Many other "details" in the "dream" are extremely vague and wishy washy and could match thousands of properties and families.

c) I hold a pretty dim view of those losing sight that this is about Madeleine and getting all excited about dream prediction and so called psychics, and in many ways I'm bitterly regretting writing that blog post at all.

This post probably shouldn't have needed to be written really but am well pissed off that media have been invoked without informing me first (and at least it could have been the Guardian rather than the sodding Sun .... JOKE )
