Don't know if anyone else has started a new thread .

OP posts:
CaveMum · 27/07/2017 22:08

I'd also report those things to the Met Police. GOSH falls under their jurisdiction and as they're already investigating threats against staff they're likely to take it seriously.

Their twitter handle is @metpoliceuk

smilingmind · 27/07/2017 22:10

Thanks Accrual I managed to do that.
Wanted to report it to met police their tweet is metpoliceuk but can't see how to reset it or find an email address for them.

Sidge · 27/07/2017 22:11

I'm surprised there are some ?typos on the judicial statement - they list the date in a few paragraphs as 2016. ("Upon hearing counsel" and "upon the court considering"). I would have thought they'd have proof read it thoroughly!

I am wishing Charlie a dignified and peaceful death. I really hope his parents can find some peace and acceptance in time. 😕

So thinking about it today, but I do wonder what chance a litigation case would have after the fact. They've been through courts up to the ECHR with this, and additionally his disease is a very rare one. GOSH seems to have gone above and beyond, I can't think of anything that could have gone wrong in his care given the rarity of his condition.

Nquartz · 27/07/2017 22:14

Connie just commented on the sun's (sorry, I know it's shit) Facebook page 10 mins ago. Why? Why is she still on Facebook?
I'm lost for words (that I'm allowed to say anyway)

justthesolution · 27/07/2017 22:14

How can ITV say that when it is supposed to be confidential??

justthesolution · 27/07/2017 22:14

Jeez Nquartz I really struggle with that and is as much as I can say too

poweredbybread · 27/07/2017 22:16

Thymeout yes I know. When I was doing my training at a London hospital I looked after a similar baby. The parents were late forties and the baby their only chance of parenthood. Desperate for baby to live. Clearly baby would not thrive. Heartbreaking. I really hope they find some peace but I expect the media will play out for a bit longer and then they will find themselves just with each and their grief.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/07/2017 22:18

GabsAlot I thought the judge had banned mention of the timing as well as the place to which Charlie would be taken?

I can't quite see how what you said ITV has reported would be permissible?

Wow she's commenting ALL over it! She needs to back away now & spend time with Charlie this is silly

TheWeeWitch · 27/07/2017 22:22

So yes, Connie is on FB tonight. How very sad that she can't leave it alone now. I can't imagine reading half of those awful comments if they were written about me. I wouldn't cope on a normal day, let alone on a day like today.

Nquartz · 27/07/2017 22:22

I need to step away from this, it's making me so angry I almost commented to Connie on Facebook.
What a horrendous situation

TheWeeWitch · 27/07/2017 22:23

She's talking about how her door is big enough to fit a ventilator through and that GOSH never visited their home. It's heartbreaking.

justthesolution · 27/07/2017 22:24

How can she be arguing with people on FB when it could be her son's last night, I really am beyond angry now. 12 mins ago she's posting everywhere on that thread

Nquartz · 27/07/2017 22:24

Where's Sos with her music?! Could do with something now

Stoprightnowplease · 27/07/2017 22:25

I am stunned, I have just seen that she is still arguing on FB with people, just beyond help now.

RebeccaMumsnet · 27/07/2017 22:25

Evening all,

These threads do continue to be reported and we can see why in some cases.

At the centre of all of this is a terminally ill little boy.

Can we please stop the parent blaming and speculation.

If we see it and it's reported, we will remove it and if it continues, we will remove the whole thread.

Many thanks for the reports.

poweredbybread · 27/07/2017 22:26

I have not looked at any of the FB CA stuff I am guessing it's all fairly horrific. Somebody said earlier that someone needs to take Charlie's mum and dads phone away as they are responding and posting even now. They just seem unable to stop this rollercoaster. I guess it makes the judgement more sound really. These desperate people need others to make decisions for them. Like I said earlier I would hate to be on an ethics committee let along making judgements. It is for the best.

Nquartz · 27/07/2017 22:27

I just wanted to say that I've also really appreciated these threads, if it wasn't for all the information on here from all the different fields involved I would never have been so well informed. And hearing the heartbreaking stories from various people brought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion but I'm so glad that people felt they could share.
Apart from the old bun/bum fight I think we've done well to keep it measured, fair & polite

Hollycatberry · 27/07/2017 22:28

Thanks nigella

I think in the storm of reporting out there it's good to see pieces like this which support the discussions we've had on these threads and the concerns raised. The Melanie Philips article also linked on an earlier thread is excellent. The idea that Charlie's situation has been used for so many other agendas by third parties really doesn't sit well with so many of us. I wish the wider public could see this but the mainstream reporting has been so poor.

Going back to little Charlie, I have so much sadness for him and that there wasn't anything modern medicine could do at this time for his condition. I hope his passing is dignified and peaceful.

smilingmind · 27/07/2017 22:29

Thank you CaveMum. I couldn't work out how to retweet it but have reported it to the met on an online form.
I have only read tweets, never posted.
For reasons I don't want to go into this has really shaken me. It is horrific. There is even a baby in a buggy next to the flag.
The poster is Italian so I don't think the met will have any jurisdiction over him.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 27/07/2017 22:29

I also came to say that Connie is commenting on The Sun's FB thread.

I assume she is also with Charlie tonight - no reason to believe she isn't (unless phones aren't allowed in PICU?).

I'm afraid I've broken the habit of a lifetime on Sun threads & commented. Just to remind people that whatever their opinion, a mother who is preparing to say goodbye to her child is reading their comments.

I understand why some people are angry about aspects of this case - but now is not the time. And certainly not time to pick an argument with Connie.
