Don't know if anyone else has started a new thread .

OP posts:
Ellie56 · 27/07/2017 21:16

Very true SadGuru. I had a completely different view of the situation until I read the court judgements and subsequent statements from GOSH.

Nquartz · 27/07/2017 21:18

I've been feeling very emotional today, I'm not sure how C&C are going to cope once he has passed & they have to face the inevitable grief.
By the by, it was mentioned many threads ago about the lack of funding for parents of children in hospital long term & there was a suggestion to try to set up a foundation/charity/fund raising etc, did anyone contact HQ about it? IIRC at the time a fair few people volunteered to help

AcrossthePond55 · 27/07/2017 21:21

I don't know who this Burley woman is but I think if she had any decency at all she wouldn't have published CY's latest statement. Let CY put in on FB, but at this time the media needs to call a self-imposed blackout regarding C&C's statements rather than give her/them a public voice for her feelings about GOSH and the judge.

Perhaps if her voice wasn't made so public, she would be able to 'settle her mind' for what is to come.

justthesolution · 27/07/2017 21:22

Me too Nquartz just keeping seeing that gorgeous little face as he was in the early pictures. God only knows the agony they will be going through and thinking of any other parents in a similar situation.

SadGuru · 27/07/2017 21:23

Middleoftheroad and Ellie Same with me. The newspapers were very biased and rarely gave the facts or balanced views. These threads have been so informative and gave different perspectives with so many people sharing their own personal tragedies. Flowers

Ellie56 · 27/07/2017 21:24

Not sure if it's the same flat that Connie is talking about, but an offer of a flat was made on CA FB last night. Some woman has had it completely adapted for herself so presumably she would have still been living there too. Hmm

smilingmind · 27/07/2017 21:24

Thank you creme

JaneEyre70 · 27/07/2017 21:27

I'm hoping they're peacefully spending what could be their last night together in acceptance and calm. And I actually hope their relatives/friends have all backed off too. This is about Charlie, Chris and Connie now, no one else. I have great faith that they will get a huge amount of support from the hospice after Charlie's peaceful passing. At least for that, they won't be in a hospital environment and can be together as a family for the last time. I think the Judge knew they were going to need that.

Thymeout · 27/07/2017 21:27

Poweredbybread - yes. I was referring to the contemporary ones with the tubes in hospital. It's only in the last days we've had a lot of new ones taken when he was only weeks old. I can understand CC wanting to remember him as he was, but I think the publicist knows what she is doing. Perhaps if the papers printed the two side by side, it would be more obvious how much he has deteriorated.

11122aa · 27/07/2017 21:28

I cant see a private funeral judging by the comments in the previous statement.

Bumdishcloths · 27/07/2017 21:28

Just finished catching up on 19, can't believe the whole flat thing - there just wouldn't have been an end, would there? 'We just need x number of days' etc etc. It's horribly, horribly sad but no amount of time will make up for the time they've wasted in court

JonSnowsWhore · 27/07/2017 21:31

Bloody hell someone on the itv post on fb has said they hope all of the hospital & court staff go through this at some point. I've had to question just how sick they actually are to wish more babies & children dead

Thymeout · 27/07/2017 21:33

Maryz and others.

I've just read Giles Fraser's piece in the Guardian - comments now closed so I couldn't add mine. I think he's a vicar, currently recovering from heart surgery. He may have missed some of the earlier debate.

I agree. Not helpful at all on any level.

rosietosey · 27/07/2017 21:33

Private funeral/cremation,

redshoeblueshoe · 27/07/2017 21:33

Acrossthepond - you may not know the Burley woman, but you certainly have the measure of her. Grin

NotMyPenguin · 27/07/2017 21:34

Thinking of Charlie, but to be honest mostly seeing the terrible heartbreak and upset of his parents, and sending love and light to Connie and Chris. May they get the support and kindness they will need to see them through what can only be an incredibly dark time for them.

Sostenueto · 27/07/2017 21:35

It would in my mind, be very insensitive ,at this time to publish the latest picture of Charlie, so obviously dying when he is about to have life support withdrawn.

Ceto · 27/07/2017 21:37

All concerned knew perfectly well that a major issue with using someone's flat is the fact that no-one is insured to provide intensive care in them. They haven't mentioned that problem and how they planned to get over it.

Sostenueto · 27/07/2017 21:37

The biggest thing now is will the parents have the strength, when they get to the hospice to allow them to carry out the court order or will there be a scene. That scenario really does not bear thinking aboutSad

SadGuru · 27/07/2017 21:38

Perhaps if the papers printed the two side by side, it would be more obvious how much he has deteriorated.

I'm not sure about this actually. Yes printing the latest photos will give a true picture to counter the claims by family / CA. But it is not really dignified for Charlie I think. I feel it is right that he is remembered as he was before he deteriorated.

CaveMum · 27/07/2017 21:38

Thanks for the new thread.

11122aa · 27/07/2017 21:39

When was the most recent photo released by the family.

Sostenueto · 27/07/2017 21:39

Once again more sympathy for the parents rather than Charlie who has possibly been in pain, with no hope of recovery for at least the last 6 months.

Sostenueto · 27/07/2017 21:41

Judge said words to this effect.......it has been 3 and a half months since my first ruling and I thought it then that Charlie was in pain.......that says it all.

SadGuru · 27/07/2017 21:41

Sostenueto This stopped being about Charlie a long time ago.
