Let's try and keep this as measured as the last one, don't want it to be deleted Smile

Thanks Creme.

Wishing for peace and calm for all those at the heart of the case.

justthesolution · 27/07/2017 20:57

Hello Creme and thanks. I've name changed a few times but been on all 20 threads, calming place to talk.

This flat thing? Would it never end? The amazing people and places popping out of wormholes in space time continuum?

SadGuru · 27/07/2017 20:58

It is sad that this has gone into 20 threads.

GabsAlot · 27/07/2017 20:59

thanks creme i wa going to then got distractd

JonSnowsWhore · 27/07/2017 21:00

No it wouldn't end, it'd be the flat, then more time with use of the ICU staff. Then they wouldn't be ready to let him go. The judge has done the right thing ruling the way he did, somebody had to step up & put an end to all of this finally

valeriarrgh · 27/07/2017 21:00

Thanks Creme!

Lucysky2017 · 27/07/2017 21:01

It is very sad for everyone. The parents' statement twitter.com/KayBurley/status/890621251080695809 seems to be to the effect they wanted to take their son to a 2 bed flat someone else has available that is suitable and use doctors they have now got there. The judge instead had to come to some final decision and went for a hospice (at a confidential time) and I think that will only allow a child the one day - they need to die that day. Hospices can be very good places. I doubt the parents will have a worse experience there except they seem to regard this whole thing as a thus v them, a kind of psychological displacement presumably for their own sorry and they feel they lost. That is a shame. I hope they can reconcile to how things go.

They are not unique in losing a child. Many of us do so. They do seem to think they are incredibly special. I am very sorry their son will die but sadly that is part of life for many people. This has been a very expensive thing and a huge waste of state resources. When the courts have to be used which is very very rare there are usually no winners at all except I suppose it proves that in English law the state does always put the best interests of the child first and that has been proven here again - the parents cannot just decide everything.

SadGuru · 27/07/2017 21:02

It's only by reading GOSH statements, court judgements and the live tweets I have got the full balanced picture which is quite different to the statements put out by the family.

derxa · 27/07/2017 21:04

I just want to say peace and love to Charlie and his family. No one else

BubblesBuddy · 27/07/2017 21:05

I posted about the flat on 19 and it was deleted. CY mentioned the flat. It was not gossip or hearsay. I do not see how it broke rules on here because that suggestion clearly contravened the judge's order, which was the point of my post. I see other posts on the same lines now stand!

rosietosey · 27/07/2017 21:05

Think of all those parents who have made the decision to let their child go, out of pain and with the knowledge that nothing more can be done.

And they are not in the limelight either.

Sorry, they know where their priorities are.

JonSnowsWhore · 27/07/2017 21:06

I agree bubbles it was public knowledge, not sure why you've been Deleted

TuckingFaxman · 27/07/2017 21:07

It is for the best that he goes soon.

Blinkingblimey · 27/07/2017 21:08

💐 for you Lucysky. I entirely agree with what you have written.

poweredbybread · 27/07/2017 21:10

Thyme post 19 I think those pictures you're referring to are pics of at 3 months old before he was diagnosed so no ET tube etc.

Middleoftheroad · 27/07/2017 21:11

Agreed SadGuru. The reporting - in the main - is irresponsible. BBC and DM in particular.
The judge made the only choice he could make - to end the madness of Charlie's prolongued suffering.

I hope the details of the hospice are not leaked as that is unfair to all.

GOSH has my full support and I feel privileged to know such a resource and amazing care givers exist.

goodbyestranger · 27/07/2017 21:11

Yes that was a very odd deletion Bubbles - you've been extremely informative and objective throughout, no idea what's going on. Perhaps someone at MNHQ was on a caffeine high.
