Sleep tight wee boy x

And I hope for those who have shared their stories with such honesty and openness that you appreciate how much it has helped others who have not walked in your shoes understand a little of what those poor parents are suffering. Love and light to you all x

Ellie56 · 28/07/2017 20:06

LaSourciere I knew it would be soon but thought it would be Friday not Thursday.

RJnomore1 · 28/07/2017 20:08

Oh the poor little darling.

He was very loved by his parents. We may not all have agreed with every action they took but I'm sure we would all be united in our wish that every child was loved as much as Charlie was.

I hope they find a way through this.

justthesolution · 28/07/2017 20:23

Paffle that is so true, I think we did all love him or who he represented in our own way Sad

fflonkl · 28/07/2017 20:23

RIP little one and may your parents find some peace and comfort.

I've been reading these threads since the first one, thank you to all who contributed

RIP little Charlie, you have touched hearts and you will be remembered.

I hope Connie and Chris can find peace.

Thanks for these threads and thoughts to all of those who have shared their stories on here. I feel very humbled.

SimplyNigella · 28/07/2017 20:33

I cannot begin to imagine how poor Connie and Chris feel right now. I wish them all of the strength and loving support in the world.

Charlie was so loved by so many, especially his parents who fought longest and hardest for him. May he rest in peace, free of pain.

SocksBoatsAndQats · 28/07/2017 20:34

Oh goodness, poor Chris and Connie, they loved that boy with every fibre of their beings. May they find peace.

Sleep tight little one. Xx

EB123 · 28/07/2017 20:34

Sleep tight Charlie. My thoughts are with Connie and Chris and the rest of their family x

Dustbunny1900 · 28/07/2017 20:39

Goodbye Charlie. May the next life be long and filled with peace and happiness that was denied to you in this one.
Seeing those videos today of when he was two weeks old definitely pulled at the heart strings.
Thanks to everyone who shared their stories too. This was a great introduction to mumsnet.
Rip sweet baby

Sorry, I do hope it isn't inappropriate to post this at this point- will report it if so- but I think the BBC report www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-40752120 is not at all carefully worded particularly at such a sensitive time- to the point of being misleading.

Frequent references to his 'treatment' being denied (as if there really was an established treatment available Sad) and pinpointing the block to 'treatment' as GOSH experts.

But it was a medical consensus and GOSH did consult as widely as they could, given the rarity of poor baby Charlie's mitochondrial condition.
I am usually the first to defend objective BBC reporting but this is really not a good example of it.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 28/07/2017 20:47

Rip little boy

thegirlwhowaited · 28/07/2017 20:48

Bless you wee man. I am so sorry your time here was so dreadfully hard.

Flowers for those who loved and cared for you.

May peace and happiness surround you. x

3littlebadgers · 28/07/2017 20:49

Dearest Charlie, there are many parents of lost children shedding a tear for you and their own precious children tonight. May you all play merrily amongst the stars together. If you see a cheeky little girl with pixie like ears and honey coloured hair give her a cuddle from me.
Wishing your mummy and daddy gentle days and peaceful nights Flowers

This was posted on the CA page by a family member:

It’s with great sadness that we have to inform you that Charlie passed away earlier this afternoon. Connie has released a brief statement: ‘Our beautiful, little boy has gone. We are so proud of you, Charlie.’

We ask that everyone respects the family’s privacy at this difficult time, but we would all like to say a huge thank you to everyone for your continued support. 💙💙

ScarletForYa · 28/07/2017 21:00

LexieB · 28/07/2017 21:18

So sad he has finally died. Must be so heartbreaking for his parents.Whatever anyone's opinions are so sad when a child dies.RIP Charlie

x2boys · 28/07/2017 21:24

Rip.sweet boy i hope his parents can find some peace so tragic

ChattyLion · 28/07/2017 21:27

There is a factual, sensitive and respectful piece up on BBC website also: www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-40752061 by Fergus Walsh the BBC medical correspondent who clearly has a properly informed take on this. I think this shows up the difference between generalist newsroom reporting and specialist journalism.

justthesolution · 28/07/2017 21:31

Yes I liked Fergus Walsh's reporting, very caring and informed. Not seen ITV always imagine that they would be a bit Daily Fail like in their coverage but could be wrong.

Heygirlheyboy · 28/07/2017 21:36

Just watching Sky news now - they have played court footage of Connie shouting 'You're a liar, they're lying', back in April I imagine. Horrendous stuff.
