Rip beautiful Charlie. Thoughts with his parents now xxx

oakleaffy · 28/07/2017 19:00

The Lily Foundation Only heard of it very recently, it was mentioned in an Independent article comments section.. Very worthwhile charity, and something like this would be a very positive focus for Charlie's fund.
Lily's story is very moving too. Bless all children who pass before their time Flowers

Chottie · 28/07/2017 19:01

RIP little one......

FairNotFair · 28/07/2017 19:02

I'm glad he's at peace. I hope his parents get the support they need.

backtobacks · 28/07/2017 19:02

justthesolution · 28/07/2017 19:05

If this is the last thread which is quite likely, thank you to all the wonderful posters on here who have shared their stories and experiences. SM at its best.

heavenlypink · 28/07/2017 19:05

@Lelloteddy i agree with you that the euthanasia laws do need to change - however I think it will happen in our life time. Ironic as it may seem Noel Conway is also at the high court this week waiting for a judgement on being able to have the freedom to choose how and when he dies.

Regarding Charlie, the final outcome was never going to be 'a good one' something which I feel Chris and Connie became quite blinkered to. I feel it is tragic that they weren't given more time to say goodbye to their precious son but as a previous poster said another day would have led to another and prolonged the inevitable.

NormaSmuff · 28/07/2017 19:05

rip charlie
had just been reading their facebook and all comments had been turned off

StayAChild · 28/07/2017 19:07

So sorry for this precious little boy. It's just not fair.
Sincere condolences to his Mummy and Daddy who tried so hard to save him. I hope they can find some peace somehow.

Also, thank you to the people who have looked after him so carefully. They must be devastated too.

alcibiades · 28/07/2017 19:08

RIP little baby Charlie.

I hope that Connie and Chris can find some peace somehow.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 28/07/2017 19:09

RIP little one - I may not have agreed with their actions but your parents fiercely loved you and you have left your mark on this world.

I hope they are comforted in the knowledge that you are free of suffering and resting at last.

GavelRavel · 28/07/2017 19:11

Glad this has reached a resolution. Poor Charlie. Lily Foundation is local to me. their daughter was born in the same hospital as one of my DC. She had a less severe type of mitochondrial disease than poor Charlie, though still devastating as most are, and she died at 8 months. The way her parents and big sisters went thought that awful process was very moving and inspirational, as was the charity they set up in response. A different way to deal with things. I wish it could have been the same here. maybe in time it will, would be amazing if they could join forces and fund research that could lead to some real treatments for mitochondrial disease, in time.

Sostenueto · 28/07/2017 19:11

May this comfort all.

NormaSmuff · 28/07/2017 19:12

There will be relief that the fight is finished

Polly99 · 28/07/2017 19:14

Poor Connie and Chris. They must be so sad and exhausted. I hope they find peace.

AcrossthePond55 · 28/07/2017 19:15

Fly free, little bird. The Lark has ascended, indeed.

RIP, little one

Peace and comfort to C&C and the extended family. I hope you are all surrounded by loving arms.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 28/07/2017 19:16

May they all be able to find peace.

ScaryMonstersAndSuoerCreeps · 28/07/2017 19:18

Relief?????? I very much doubt it!!!
I had to make the decision to switch off my son's life and let me assure you I didn't feel relief just deep sadness!!

justthesolution · 28/07/2017 19:19

scary Flowers

valeriarrgh · 28/07/2017 19:20

Rest in peace sweet Boy.

All my love to his parents.

JonSnowsWhore · 28/07/2017 19:21

Heard the news while I was out, poor Charlie, why is the bloody world so cruel. I hope c&c can some how start to heal soon, away from the media & social media. And that's not a criticism, I say it for their own sakes as there's still people with not nice things to say, and the people writing everywhere that he could have been saved that will mess with their heads.

There's nothing anyone could say to them right now to make them feel just a tiny amount better, I hope they manage to help each other through it
