Such sad news after weeks and months of torment for all involved. I hope c&c find love and support in the coming days and weeks and that the hospice are able to support them through the next few hours and days.

Vevvie · 28/07/2017 18:42

RIP little Charlie.

I hope his parents find peace. They fought so hard for him. He has left a legacy behind him, with an awareness of his horrid disease. Lots of people hadn't even heard of it.

Wordsaremything · 28/07/2017 18:42

So glad his suffering is now at an end, he has died and the most merciful thing has happened at last. I wish his parents peace in their hearts and hope they will be able to access support and wise counsel at the hospice. My heart goes out to them as I suspect their suffering has barely begun. Channelling it into another legal battle is surely not the best way to go. I hope they can be brought to see that.

MonsterQueen · 28/07/2017 18:43

Rest in Peace little fella. Glad your suffering has ended xxx

RIP Charlie

justthesolution · 28/07/2017 18:45

It would be lovely if they did channel their energies into setting up a foundation in Charlie's name researching mitochondrial disease. Imagine if in years to come we all remembered his name in a really positive way. That will be a long way down the line though for his poor parents right now.

HappyAxolotl · 28/07/2017 18:46

Fly free to heaven Charlie. Flowers

I wish his parents and family find peace and that better days and happiness can enter their lives again.

(And I've followed these threads all along and have been trying to find these words for ages: I wish also for peace and brighter times for all of you who have shared your heartbreaking stories of the loss of your children and loved ones. I've shed a few tears reading as your love and your pain has come through so powerfully in your words. All my best wishes to you all.)

Rachel0Greep · 28/07/2017 18:46

Poor little Charlie. A sad sad day for his parents. I hope that they will find peace.

Peace and thoughts to Charlie and his family. Flowers

Bejazzled · 28/07/2017 18:48

Yes Justthe solution they could use all the money raised to make a lasting memorial to Charlie in his name, they might get some comfort from helping others.

Fekko · 28/07/2017 18:48

I hope the circus packs up and leaves the family to grieve and try to start to heal.

TheFairyCaravan · 28/07/2017 18:49

I do hope the press give Connie, Chris and their wider family some peace and privacy in the coming weeks and days.

I, also, hope that Connie and Chris have people who can scoop them up and hold them tight.

CerealShopper · 28/07/2017 18:49

Sleep tight little man x

reallyanotherone · 28/07/2017 18:52

I have a bad feeling the media circus is only going to get worse, as c&c lash out in their grief.

I wish them peace.

backaftera2yearbreak · 28/07/2017 18:52

There already is one, The Lily Foundation, and they fund research and work with the UK mitochondrial disease experts - a team led by Doug Turnbull in Newcastle. I hope Connie doesn't cut herself off from this charity (who she may feel are closely aligned with her "enemy" GOSH) and instead gets involved to further support research programmes.

This disease desperately needs more research to develop treatments and ultimately find a cure. Until then, children will continue to be born who must fight an impossible fight and parents must continually be told that their child has a significant progressive condition for which there is nothing that can be done to stop it from taking their child too soon.

Rest in peace Charlie, you will be remembered.

Sending all my love to Connie and Chris at this devastating time.

Goingtobeawesome · 28/07/2017 18:56

RIP Charlie. You've been a star. I'm so sorry your life was so hard.

His parents must be beyond words. In time, I hope they are able to have a second child to bring new joy.

While it's the best thing for Charlie it is still devastating news. I feel for the doctors and nurses too. They have had a really difficult time.

Sittinginthesun · 28/07/2017 18:58

RIP Charlie Flowers

LaSourciere · 28/07/2017 18:58

Ellie
No wonder poor Connie was so devastated on Wednesday. She had just heard if she did not come up with a plan by 12 o'clock the next day, her baby would be on his way to the hospice within hours.

This was very clear from the court rulings. Not a surprise.

justthesolution · 28/07/2017 18:59

Kanga yes! I have seen them at various races (I run). It would be even better if C &C could collaborate with existing charities as I know a lot of money is lost if people set up similar (money lost on duplicate admin etc) . I would imagine that they will want his name to be remembered though.
