Ok guys, we have been very lucky to discuss this, please lets not give anyone anything to complain about, Mhq have been more than accomodating.

The judge said:
"Judge: 3½ months since my order. I found then he might be in pain. Decision must be made."

He hadn't forgotten Charlie, he tried so hard to get agreement, but now he has made the order.

HysterectomyHysteria · 26/07/2017 17:28

This could still drag on for days. Awful awful situation.

JaneEyre70 · 26/07/2017 17:28

No I would imagine a paed retrieval team will take a few days to arrange. It is a huge undertaking to move him, unless GOSH have already got that in place?

MontyPythonsFlyingFuck · 26/07/2017 17:28

It means that none of us has a right to know when Charlie will be moved, HH. And that hopefully his death can be a private thing, unlike his life.

MirandaWest · 26/07/2017 17:28

This is horrible Sad

Sluttybartfast · 26/07/2017 17:28

How on earth will they keep the name of the hospice private. Won't the press follow them ? Or would they be breaking the law ?

Any journalist or other individual publishing the name of the hospice would be in contempt of court and be hauled in front of Justice Francis - he's made that clear. Also journalists are (mostly) human too. I imagine the vast majority of them would not publish where Charlie was out of respect anyway. Journalists do frequently embargo and/or not publish news out of consideration for its impact - i.e. when Prince Harry was on frontline duty in Afghanistan.

jinglejanglejobs · 26/07/2017 17:28

After a ban from MNHQ (no warning or explanation until I emailed!) I'm back.

Glad to see that there's finally an arrangement in place. This can't drag on forever, it's not fair to Charlie or C+C who keep having their hopes raised then dashed by misleading doctors. From CY's outburst in court it's clear to see that she's unfortunately no closer to coming to terms with it. It needed to be taken out of her hands as she's no longer in a mindset to make decisions such as these.

Also glad that time and location are going to be kept private. Hopefully they can stay with Charlie until it's time, stay with him on the journey and until the end.

ArmySal · 26/07/2017 17:28

I just feel desperately sorry for Connie, truth be told. I can totally understand wanting to take home your baby for a few days.
It's all just devastating Sad

Judge finishes saying this will be the last hearing, he thanks everyone for their conduct in case.

Alittlepotofrosie · 26/07/2017 17:29

There was no other decision the judge could make really.

BabsGanoush · 26/07/2017 17:29

Roll on 12 noon tomorrow for Charlies sake. I sincerely hope the parents don't come up with another Dr/delay/plea and spend their time with Charlie.

Ceto · 26/07/2017 17:29

VMcA: Judge finishes saying this will be the last hearing, he thanks everyone for their conduct in case.

BubblesBuddy · 26/07/2017 17:29

GOSH will have made plans. They found the hospice so will have maintained contact and made plans. Why would you not do this?

Ceto · 26/07/2017 17:30

I imagine the poor judge is at this moment locked away, recovering.

HysterectomyHysteria · 26/07/2017 17:30

I totally agree that the details should be kept away from the media, I hope that this is the end of court action and that everyone involved can begin to find some peace.

SmilingButClueless · 26/07/2017 17:30

I would imagine the arrangements are all set up already. Don't think GOSH would want to risk hospice place falling through, for a number of reasons.

oakleaffy · 26/07/2017 17:30

Just hope that they can be together privately, as a family at the transition for Charlie...with no hangers on.

TinselTwins · 26/07/2017 17:30

I don't understand has the judge given another day to "come to an agreement"

That's never going to happen!
Poor Connie that's basically telling her she has to fight for another 24 hours! This is awful if this is the case! why not just draw the line NOW and let her off the hook to grieve and stop fighting!

24HourPartyPerson · 26/07/2017 17:30

I've lurked on all the threads and followed this case closely from the beginning.
Earlier this year I went to a fund-raiser that was held to raise the money for Charlie to go to the US. I can't remember exactly when it was, maybe March. Anyway, there was a great atmosphere - live music, an auction, food and everyone was so positive. It was all about raising money so a wee sick boy could go and have treatment and get better - there was no question at all, this treatment was going to work. There was such optimism.
Connie and Chris have been driven to fight by the very optimism that was there that night - it would work, it just would.

I'm so so sorry for them that it has come to this and despite everything I do understand how they have clutched desperately at straws. I hope they can come to terms with what has happened.
Safe passing little one.

Ellie56 · 26/07/2017 17:31

And the likelihood of the Guardian and GOSH agreeing to anything they come up with in the next 18 hours must be zilch.

Chris made a good decision.

BlondieJ · 26/07/2017 17:31

@ArmySal I think every one of us feels desperately sorry for Connie and Chris, it is a heartbreaking situation, they have been failed by many people... those they are fighting (gosh and the judge) are not the ones they've been failed by

Chattymummyhere, I would not hold your breath just yet, I am sure something else will throw a spanner in the works.

Sostenueto · 26/07/2017 17:32

Charlie, heaven is getting ready for you dear cherub. Flowers

SomeDyke · 26/07/2017 17:32

I think that GOSH already had plans in place. I assume the 12 tomorrow and agreement would be, I suppose, if there was a decision that at GOSH rather than hospice, or some other hospital, or change of hospice????? But he said this was the last hearing.
