I agree Tinsel it seems one more lifeline to grab at Sad

Although it states agreement between GOSH, C&C and guardian, not coming back to court. GOSH have been quite clear what would be needed and it's not going to be possible.

Horrible, horrible, horrible session for everyone concerned Sad

Doobydoo · 26/07/2017 17:33

What a nightmare on so many levels.I am the mum of a little girl who died at 2 weeks old in nicu.I wasn't there. I have also been a neonatal nurse and worked in a Children's hospice.Seeing it all from so many angles.

CremeFresh · 26/07/2017 17:33

Does this mean that no more experts can be brought forward ? No more delays or last minute change of plan?

jinglejanglejobs · 26/07/2017 17:33

Maryz he's not got a trach so can't use the smaller vent that can get through the door.

Arrangement is made, the judge says it will be the final hearing.

Ceto · 26/07/2017 17:33

That's very true, Maryz. GOSH said the main barrier to going home was that they wanted him there for several days. They might offer that now as a compromise.

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 17:33

Ceto, thepoor judge has porbably cracked open a bottle and sitting in acorner sobbing somewhere.

TinselTwins · 26/07/2017 17:33

Telling her she has another day to "fight" might break her!
I don't mean emotionally, that's a given when you have a terminally ill child,
This much stress and finding the energy to fight eventually makes you physically sick! Like heart attack/stroke sick! This has to stop!

I cannot fathom what the judge is thinking with this 12 o clock thing!

StealthPolarBear · 26/07/2017 17:34

I think he has

Judge: name of hospice will remain private. The time at which he will go will remain private. Anyone who publishes date and place breaks law

derxa · 26/07/2017 17:34

Vile

Lucysky2017 · 26/07/2017 17:34

I am sure everyone on here knows this but if details not permitted to be published appear on MN or anywhere else the person who puts them can go to prison.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 26/07/2017 17:35

That's a good point maryz. I hope that can happen if the parents would like that

ArmySal · 26/07/2017 17:35

I know BlondieJ, it was just seeing the caption "Connie Yates and Chris Gard want Charlie to spend his final days with them at home" under a picture of him which upset me for her. I know it's an impossibility.

Ceto · 26/07/2017 17:35

Creme, in theory I suppose C&C could produce an intensivist and a full scale plan which would satisfy GOSH as being in Charlie's best interests. But realistically it just isn't going to happen.

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 26/07/2017 17:35

The judge has been clear that home wasn't an option. I think from yesterday's tweets from court it was the need to take Charlie off the vent and 'hand bag' him to navigate stairs and corners until he was inside that was considered too high risk.

KentMum2008 · 26/07/2017 17:35

I've followed this case very closely for the last few months. And for the last few weeks I've hoped for a resolution to this case, and a peaceful end to that beautiful babies life. But now it's been decided I can't stop crying. Because at the end of it all, despite all the media circus and fighting in (and out of) court, a babies life is about to end. That part really got lost somewhere, didn't it? Admittedly the vast majority of posters on here kept that in mind at all times, but I just mean in the more general media. It became about rights, and who should decide what for whom. And really, it took away from the dreadful sadness of the fact that a baby is about to die, and that this happens every single day, to parents the world over.

HeidiSpeidi · 26/07/2017 17:35

All of those hours spent at court rather than with Charlie. it's heartbreaking for him.

I hope C&C are able to find some kind of peace after this. The same goes for the Doctors and Nurses at GOSH who for me, have clearly had Charlie's best interests at heart from day one. Such an awful shame that it's come to this

StealthPolarBear · 26/07/2017 17:36

Doo by doo awful thread to see you on but good to see you again Flowers

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 17:37

Taken from Ca This poor boy it breaks my heart what horrid ppl they are they only want ta spend time with there son and take him home this is so upsetting seriously???

MirandaWest · 26/07/2017 17:37

I don't understand the 12 noon tomorrow either.

CA are talking about thunderclaps to find a doctor by 12 tomorrow but I can't see how that would either happen or make any difference

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 17:37

HeidiSpeidi, exactly.

BubblesBuddy · 26/07/2017 17:37

The sad fact is that the ruling comes into effect if the Guardian and GOSH cannot agree with the parents before the deadline. So it's not really up for much debate and it's not coming back to Court because the decision is final.

Sostenueto · 26/07/2017 17:38

Second that mangomayFlowers

SomeDyke · 26/07/2017 17:38

Let's not descend into the morass of quotes from CA please people!

Just leave it alone, we don't need to see that here!

LowGravity · 26/07/2017 17:38

Actually, if they accept that he will be intubated within hours after transfer, they could take him home couldn't they? On a portable ventilator, with him being extubated before the transfer team leave?

I was just wondering that. I completely understand why they would want to take him home to die, obviously providing intensive care at home for several days is not possible but if he's just going to be extubated at the hospice anyway I don't see why that couldn't happen at home. I don't understand why they want to move him to a hospice with all the risks that will carry rather than leave him where he is safe and comfortable if home is not an option.
