Ok guys, we have been very lucky to discuss this, please lets not give anyone anything to complain about, Mhq have been more than accomodating.

I hope he rules. As much for the parents sake as anything. Prolonging things isn't going to help them as much as they may feel it will at the moment.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 26/07/2017 16:52

This is actually very distressing now.

I am not impressed with counsel and the pro bono legal team here. Whilst they owe a dutybti
Connie and Chris. They are also officers of the court and are under an obligation not to prat about and waste the court's time. That means refusing to make nonsensical submissions. This procedure is like dealing with clueless non-represented party litigants.

Armstrong should have insisted on a delay of 10 minutes whilst he called this doctor chump and asked him some basic questions. As soon as he heard he was a GP, he should have refused to make those submissions

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 26/07/2017 16:52

If Armstrong was seriously arguing for a retired private GP to take charge of a temporary ICU with one of the most seriously ill and vulnerable kids in the country........ words fail at the irresponsibility and basic lack of regard for the care of the child.

This has to be the point JF calls a halt. GOSH are clearly not going to accept this temporary ICU business and rightly so.

StealthPolarBear · 26/07/2017 16:53

So is it a given now he will move to a hospice?

Lynnm63 · 26/07/2017 16:53

If I bite my tongue any harder ....
Judge needs to do what he's paid for and make a judgement. This is turning into a farce.

TinselTwins · 26/07/2017 16:53

JF reminds me of myself when I'm having a really crap parenting day and failing miserably:

NO you can't have a biscuit before dinner
OKAY you can but JUST ONE
okay only one more but this is the LAST ONE

And then the kids don't eat anything of nutritional value at dinner because they're full up of biscuit

A flippant comparison I know, but he needs to step up and do what's right not what's nice now!

oakleaffy · 26/07/2017 16:53

Toddlerteaplease Yes, nursing staff really do get close to their patients...especially the long stay ones..if a patient dies, the staff are genuinely upset.

LovelyBath77 · 26/07/2017 16:53

How can the lawyer first say he is a intensive care doctor when he isn't, he's a GP? Confused It seems such a muddle. I said before they seem unprofessional and disorganised, thank that even more now. Pro bono or not.

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 16:54

Lynnm63, agreed.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 26/07/2017 16:54

This is dreadful.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 26/07/2017 16:54

This is dreadful.

smilingmind · 26/07/2017 16:54

This is awful for us. How much worse must it be for everyone involved.

MirandaWest · 26/07/2017 16:55

I'm glad this part is being in private.

JaneEyre70 · 26/07/2017 16:55

Surely there is a case here building for contempt of court, finding these totally unsuitable people and delaying tactics. Why not just ask for his birthday, then agree a date.

Ceto · 26/07/2017 16:55

Charitably, Armstrong can't have known the doctor was a GP. But that does then lead to the question why he didn't insist on someone getting at least basic, checked information before he even mentioned hi.

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 26/07/2017 16:55

Yy gobbolino and tinsel

oakleaffy · 26/07/2017 16:55

Tinsel...good analogy Biscuit

Ceto · 26/07/2017 16:55

him not hi.

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 16:55

sitting on my hands.

Incitatis · 26/07/2017 16:55

Armstrong is making a fool of himself. Very publically too Hmm

cjt110 · 26/07/2017 16:56

@MirandaWest I agree.

All she's doing is delaying for more time. I'm struggling to see when this will ever end for poor Charlie. Stuck in the middle of this farce is a very sick little boy who needs to be let go - and C&C should be spending every second in hospital with him. Not fighting over minor details.

I can guarantee that by Friday they will have another doctor prepared to let him die at home, why was this doctor not questioned beforehand as to his capability. It's a farce. The poor boy.

@Ceto how could he not know? He was presenting him as a witness in court!!!

BabsGanoush · 26/07/2017 16:57

If the parents had only asked for his life to be extended to his birthday I'm sure no-one would have argued or disagreed..

I disagree

I disagree too, but for the average person they would understand why the parents were requesting that. **I'll delete the rest of what I want to put..
