Ok guys, we have been very lucky to discuss this, please lets not give anyone anything to complain about, Mhq have been more than accomodating.

It turns out the Dr the family found was a private GP with no experience of intensive care, he had not found a team or a hospice as was said

What on earth? Either the GP lied extremely cruelly to the parents and everyone else, or the lawyers called on someone they knew could not possibly met the necessary requirements, when that could only waste time. That needs to be investigated.

Judge Justice Francis is trying to go to closed court for the next 15 minutes, arguments from journalists being heard now against this.

Judge: it’s not that I don’t trust people but members of the public might report information. I would call media back in afterwards.

Nellie..that card poem is very true.

CabbageLooking · 26/07/2017 16:46

"It's not that I don't trust people" says the judge. I bloody don't trust people!

Judge: the discussion will be about how much time Charlie will have between leaving GOSH and being extubated. It’s very private.

Another day? Another bloody day?! Shock

BabsGanoush · 26/07/2017 16:47

If the parents had only asked for his life to be extended to his birthday I'm sure no-one would have argued or disagreed.. It is so obvious they are just after time....time to find a Dr, time to reach a decision, time to negotiate..... what is the ultimate goal, just to keep him on life support forever??

cjt110 · 26/07/2017 16:47

I think he's going to rule.

TheFairyCaravan · 26/07/2017 16:47

The judge needs to grow some balls and put an end to all of this. It's beyond ridiculous, now.

Saucery · 26/07/2017 16:48

I know exactly who he doesn't trust and it ain't the journalists.

mikado1 · 26/07/2017 16:48

I hope you're right cjt.

cjt110 · 26/07/2017 16:48

Saucery What do you mean?

Private discussion which will now take place is how long #CharlieGard will have between leaving GOSH+withdrawal of life support at hospice.

cjt110 · 26/07/2017 16:49

Me too Mikado. I think he might.

oakleaffy · 26/07/2017 16:49

Saucery..spot on. But we have to bite tongues or be deleted..

TinselTwins · 26/07/2017 16:49

If the parents had only asked for his life to be extended to his birthday I'm sure no-one would have argued or disagreed..

I disagree

Life support is not passive, it's aggressive invasive treatment!
If it was judged as wrong to keep charlie on life support for meds then it's equally wrong to keep him on life support for his birthday!

Ceto · 26/07/2017 16:49

I might give parents until 1200 to try to reach agreement on alternative arrangements.

He must know that, come 11.55, he'd be told that some other unknown doctor was on his way to court, the parents must not be denied this chance, etc etc etcm

AcrossthePond55 · 26/07/2017 16:50

I would assume that Francis J can put a gag order all all parties in court to the decisions made during the closed session?

Saucery · 26/07/2017 16:51

I can see why he doesn't make the ruling. There's no going back from that.

MrsSthe3rd · 26/07/2017 16:51

Maybe they're calling Chris too?

Toddlerteaplease · 26/07/2017 16:51

I really feel for the nurses who know him and genuinely love him. (And you really do love some of your patients.) it must be awful for them having to deal with this and the media circus surrounding it.

SmilingButClueless · 26/07/2017 16:51

I wonder if this is at least partly so the judge can tell if there's any possibility of the parties agreeing by 12 tomorrow. I think he'll rule if not.

Chestervase1 · 26/07/2017 16:52

Charlie should stay in Great Ormond Street and this should stop now. CY's demands and criteria will never be able to be met. Charlie should stay where he is and where he is being cared for. This beggars belief now.

Ceto · 26/07/2017 16:52

JR: Judge: the discussion will be about how much time Charlie will have between leaving GOSH and being extubated. It’s very private.

That sounds like he's say Charlie will leave GOSH, probably tomorrow, and will be extubated at the hospice - it's just a question of when.
