Ok guys, we have been very lucky to discuss this, please lets not give anyone anything to complain about, Mhq have been more than accomodating.

Replying to @Vinny_LBC and @LBC
alternative arrangements otherwise the Judge will make an order on his end of life.

Chestervase1 · 26/07/2017 16:42

Presumably the hospice that has agreed to accept poor Charlie is keeping her he place open during this delay. What if someone else is turned away

totallyliterally · 26/07/2017 16:42

It is clear to me (from what we've seen in court today) that poor Connie is just grasping at the very last straws to get more time and her wishes of Charlie at home.

I get that. She really feels this is the only way she can find peace. But I really hope the judge can see his way to see that can't happen and no more amount of time can make it happen

IdentifiesAsYoda · 26/07/2017 16:42

What the Actual fuck?

BluePheasant · 26/07/2017 16:42

JF has been hoping all roads will eventually lead to one conclusion and that will be the decision made. It's becoming clear that C&C want something that is neither achievable or in Charlie's best interest and will not give up on it. JF needs to put a stop to all this now.
Afraid am also feeling cynical that this is delaying tactics in order to reach 4th August.

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 16:42

TinselTwins, I agree it needs nipping in the bd, there is always some stalling technique and on Friday it will be another.

MrsSthe3rd · 26/07/2017 16:42

What on earth would be in that order, that means they want it deferring?

Lynnm63 · 26/07/2017 16:43

The judge needs to make a decision I understand why CY wants time but suppose she gets to his birthday, what next? will she then want to drag it out til Christmas?

Judge: I might give parents until 1200 to try to reach agreement on alternative arrangements.

I'm absolutely appalled. I was just saying to dh "they've probably unearthed some ancient family doctor", then scrolled down to discover that, yes, it is indeed Shock

NerrSnerr · 26/07/2017 16:43

How on earth did their lawyer allow them to hold court up with a GP? That's utterly bonkers.

Laiste · 26/07/2017 16:43

''It turns out the Dr the family found was a private GP with no experience of intensive care''

Oh this is truly a farce now. Why isn't the judge calling a halt to this circus? His 'explore all avenues' atitude was to be commended at first, but it's gone too far now. This is not helping anyone anymore. Least of all Connie frankly.

DorotheaBeale · 26/07/2017 16:43

"Dr the family found was a private GP with no experience of intensive care"

Judge must be fuming at the waste of time. Really makes Armstrong look bad, that he doesn't appear to have established the man's credentials beforehand.

mikado1 · 26/07/2017 16:44

Come on JF, someone needs to be direct and unwavering here. God love Connie, I can completely understand the 'one more day' mentality but someone has to be objective and strong and step in. A friend recently lost a baby at birth, after the few days in the cold cot, he had to be forcibly removed from her arms. It was heart breaking even to hear about but unavoidable and better to do it kindly but decisively.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 26/07/2017 16:44

I fail to understand why the court was out for nearly 2hrs when it turns out the expert is a GP! Surely the discussion was over as soon as that was known.
They're definitely trying to get past Charlie's birthday. But Charlie doesn't know it's his birthday Sad

Judge: I invite media to withdraw for 10 minutes while we discuss how to proceed.

TinselTwins · 26/07/2017 16:44

How can the parents lawyer allow that to happen with the found doctor?!?

My imagination might be more courtroom drama than reality
But I imagine C&C ordered legal team to find PaedsITU doc
They hit a brick wall
Told juniors to find any doc from their regular expert witness list so they had a "witness" but with strict instructions to keep looking for a better witness so they never actually need to use witness no1!

???

NellieBuff · 26/07/2017 16:44

As you know I have been on our "in-box" in work today. And this was just sent to us and I thought somehow it was appropriate - so you ever you are, where ever you are Thank you.

I do think that the specifics - i.e. if the Order specifies a hospice location or a date & time of withdrawal of the ventilator - that that sort of detail should be kept from the media and/or CA until after the event.

To protect the hospice staff & other patients from the barrage of attention if nothing else.

oakleaffy · 26/07/2017 16:44

Judge: I might give parents until 1200 to try to reach agreement on alternative arrangements. no..not more 'alternatives', please..

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 26/07/2017 16:45

12 noon when? Friday?

Alittlepotofrosie · 26/07/2017 16:45

No wonder the doctors CV wasnt provided. I thought the judge decided based on actual qualified expert evidence that CG is is suffering. So why is he allowing this to happen?

CabbageLooking · 26/07/2017 16:45

Judge "might" give parents until midday to reach agreement. He really needs to toughen up and make a call.

smilingmind · 26/07/2017 16:45

JF said he would rule today unless there was substantial new evidence.
There isn't.
