Gard: Court now adjourned to await arrival of the family’s specialist doctor.

This is horrible. I don;t understand why she needed to be alone though- is not other family there to support?

Says the view of GOSH clinical team is it can't drag on to a further week, the strain on everyone family and staff is too much to carry on.

GOSH says this cannot be left to drag on until Friday, they will allow details to be discussed but cannot go on for another day.

Why would she want the discussions in private now.

And I now feel that Chris not being there was a very good way to get extra time. Connie clearly can't agree unless Chris is there

That poor poor baby. The judge really needs to just make a ruling in the child's best interests. As heartbreaking as it is for the parents there is a time when enough is enough and it's of no benefit to continue this fight for more time. It was ages ago they asked for just a weekend to say goodbye.

Back to discussing home care? I thought this was now about hospice care?

Medical professionals around the world: expect to get emails asking if you can help between now and Friday, if you haven't already.

So delay til Fri transfer him Sat give them the week they're demanding and you're at Aug 5th. Past the big Aug 4th date. Call me cynical but that's no coincidence

Exactly Santas. If that was my child I'd want another day and another day and another. But it's not best for the child, and it takes someone removed to see that.

It sounds as though a hospice will be the plan regardless of anything else doesn't it?

So the disagreement is whether Charlie goes there for treatment to be withdrawn or whether he goes there to spend a few days/a week before that happens?

Friday, just before the weekend when nothing can be done until Monday.......ad infinitum.

I've lost all respect for the judge.

None of this is in the child's best interests and GOSH must be tearing their hair out what little they've got left that is

God this is going round and round.

Paterson for GOSH: I would prefer to address you in private. Butler-Cole: the family’s doctor is not a specialist.

I still don't get how if the previous ruling said that life support is not in Charlie's best interest are they even allowed to keep him on it today

they were granted extra time after the first court case for him to meet family etc

Extra time has been and gone surely and now for charlie's sake there needs to be a line in the sand!

It turns out the Dr the family found was a private GP with no experience of intensive care, he had not found a team or a hospice as was said

Please don't let this drag out until Friday.

Chattymummyhere, I totally agree, its pitiful, the longer it drags on the worst it will be for Connie and Chris, I do not think they can see that.

I think at the moment he is just hearing what all parties say.

Poor Charlie

This isn't about him is it?

C & C need this decision making for them now.

Presumably she feels privacy will either give her more tkme
Or she wants to fall to pieces in private when the ruling comes, who can blame her

Butler-Cole for guardian: parents should spend last few days of Charlie’s life with him, not with their lawyers.
