Ok guys, we have been very lucky to discuss this, please lets not give anyone anything to complain about, Mhq have been more than accomodating.

Tweet from VM:

"Connie wants the next possible hearing to be in a closed court."

Judge being asked by Grant Armstrong for an extra 48 hours for parties to agree before he makes an order on end of life for #CharlieGard

mikado1 · 26/07/2017 16:30

"Is an intensivist needed for palliative care?"

Surely this was all covered yesterday?! No, not in usual hospice care but gards objected to the brevity of that. Is Armstrong however admitting today's expert doc not suitable?

muckypup73 · 26/07/2017 16:30

AcrossthePond55, it is a bit late to have privacy.

WeDoNotSow · 26/07/2017 16:31

Asking for another 48hrs...

Fancythat69 · 26/07/2017 16:31

The expert doctor didn't cut the mustard then I'm guessing?

totallyliterally · 26/07/2017 16:31

The new retired Dr isn't the right type for GOSH to be happy with allowing it to happen at the hospice. Connie wants more time to find an intensivist.

The reality is there probably isn't one that is willing / able to do this

BubblesBuddy · 26/07/2017 16:31

He hasn't left GOSH yet!!! Incitatis.

Judge: I’ve gone out of my way to accommodate the parents’ wishes. I must consider Charlie’s best interests.

Please think of Charlie...!

Ceto · 26/07/2017 16:31

They're hoping that an intensivist with time on his hands who is willing to get involved in his will suddenly appear. There must come a time when the unfairness to Charlie is the primary consideration.

TheFairyCaravan · 26/07/2017 16:31

They want 48hrs more

JaneEyre70 · 26/07/2017 16:31

Surely the Judge won't allow 48 hours of google searching. That makes a complete mockery of GOSH and its staff.

Vevvie · 26/07/2017 16:31

It's getting beyond ridiculous now. That poor boy. How will she be able to find an intensivist. They're all busy, working.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 26/07/2017 16:32

I take it that the new expert wasn't sufficiently qualified for GOSH to pass Charlie into his or her care.

Unfortunately, Connie will always need "a bit more time". I don't mean that harshly, in her situation maybe I would be consistently wanting one more day too.

Headofthehive55 · 26/07/2017 16:32

nauticant
I think you made a good point.
I was in the position of having to demonstrate my competence to ex colleagues in order to take my baby home. An awkward exchange.

IdentifiesAsYoda · 26/07/2017 16:32

intensivist? that's not a British term

January87 · 26/07/2017 16:32

I very much doubt it. If they now differed on this he would need to be separately represented and/or Armstrong would have a duty to say he was only acting for CY.

He is, in essence, saying that he's only acting on CY behalf though, there has been no mention of Chris wanting more time? No mention of Connie and Chris, or 'his parents' just Connie.

ScarlettSahara · 26/07/2017 16:32

Justice Francis rejects this as end of day Friday is not a convenient time if no agreement met says Charlie's interests must be kept in mind

Golondrina · 26/07/2017 16:32

I hope the judge will rule for paaliative care to be stopped at GOSh and within a short timeframe. They will never agree to anything because they (understandably) haven't come to terms with any of this at all.

Judge: you want a default position if no agreement by 1630 on Friday? Armstrong: yes.

Judge says we have to have a default position if parties can't agree

FairNotFair · 26/07/2017 16:32

I'm sure the judge was hoping for a consensus. Everyone was. In the absence of a consensus, however, he has to take the initiative.

Ceto · 26/07/2017 16:32

The trouble with "only 48 hours" is that she will come back with no-one, or someone unsuitable, and then beg for another 48 hours.

Incitatis · 26/07/2017 16:32

Yes I know he hasn't left GOSH, but the judge is considering allowing him to be moved.
