I think JR must be late getting there.

Gard: I’ll be covering and tweeting for @SkyNews again this afternoon.*

No, he's supposed to be there.

AcrossthePond55 · 26/07/2017 14:02

Wonder if media have been banned.

That Catherine Foster person isn't media.

LapinR0se · 26/07/2017 14:03

Catherine Glenn Foster:
Pushing into courtroom.
BBC journo comfortingly to public: "Even on the worst day, everybody got in." (Often SRO.)
A calming voice!

DustinGee · 26/07/2017 14:04

To respond to someone's question earlier...I think that if the judge orders that today's proceedings not be made public, it doesn't matter whether Connie & Chris make a statement outside court...any mainstream media would be in contempt of court for publishing their words. So would anyone on social media but that would be difficult to police.

DorotheaBeale · 26/07/2017 14:04

JR has fans in Italy too, if I'm understanding this correctly:

All commenting on CA appears to be turned off.

Think this is the live Sky thread:

FairNotFair · 26/07/2017 14:07

That CA page. My God, I have to stop looking at it

I've made the mistake of looking at that page. It appears to be populated primarily by the wilfully ignorant. Painful and grotesque Sad Angry

room - there seems to be general medic chatter that - given the circs and the relatively short timescales, coverage for around 24 - 48 hours could be found from volunteer staff from outwith GOSH across the U.K. This is via colleagues and friends of DH's.

The feeling seems to be that volunteering would be acceptable if there was a court mandated treatment plan and that volunteers would be willing to do it as it would be in Charlie's best interests and also those of the existing staff who are currently in a horrible situation. Obviously if it helps the parents too, that would be very important but not top priority.

I can't comment about moving to a side room but, again they think this would be feasible and possible in that hospital and under these very specific circumstances.

I suspect C&C will want to go to the hospice anyway and won't be willing to listen to alternatives within GOSH anyway

...any mainstream media would be in contempt of court for publishing their words.

And this is what makes me shake my head. It stops any UK media. But I'm sure any statement will be easily available on media websites outside the UK.

Armstrong: we think we can provide private nursing staff. Some GOSH nurses have volunteered to assist.

cjt110 · 26/07/2017 14:09

Oh sorry Lapin.... I didnt see you posting. Shall I stop?

Venusflytwat · 26/07/2017 14:10

Oh dear God.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 26/07/2017 14:10

Although I completely understand why it's not nice for things like this to be done in the public eye, I also think it might be the best thing for GOSH if they are kept that way.

For example, if yesterday's proceedings had been private the fact that GOSH were willing to consider C&C's request but were physically unable to carry it out would have been misrepresented as "GOSH refuses request".

LapinR0se · 26/07/2017 14:10

Armstrong: we’ve been in touch with suppliers of ventilators who can deliver one within 24 hours. Judge: where is the doctor’s CV?

Vincent McAviney for LBC is also tweeting. He did a good job last time.
