If anyone wants to post, perhaps we could consider what implications today's case might have for others in future ... ?

OP posts:

new expert? wtf?
This is not about Charlie.
I'm close to tears here.

MirandaWest · 25/07/2017 14:50

I'm glad they're not asking for weeks

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:50

Friendlysnake..so agree with your sentiments above.

TheFairyCaravan · 25/07/2017 14:50

Where do they keep finding these new "experts"?

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:50

Hospice is still an option I think, but they cannot find a hospice who will take him for ongoing ventilation - it would be for withdrawal of care there shortly after arrival I believe.

I am losing a lot of empathy and patience with parents now. Sorry about that.

It is so impractical thinking of bringing him home on a ventilator needing morphine and monitoring 24.7. With the added value of a new scene of pilgrimage for the mob.

Poor poor child. His needs should be put first.

I'm actually worried about their mental health now. Do they honestly believe a sick, ventilated baby who is requiring ITU care can be simply cared for in the living room of their relative's house?

I know they're grieving but that is not a rational thought process.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:51

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: even at this late stage a mediator might be able to help. But it requires agreement by the parents.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 25/07/2017 14:51

"Hospice only option"? But no hospice can or will take Charlie?!

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:51

They pull out 'new experts' like a magician pulls out rabbits from a top hat. :/

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:52

@JoshuaRozenberg

Armstrong: there have been discussions during last 24 hours without a mediator.

Hollycatberry · 25/07/2017 14:52

Tweets from Skyrobcatherall have further info

Gollop: Only offer of transport hospital has been able to secure is one from hosp to hospice. Why not one to Charlie's home, asks Judge

Mr Justice Francis tells parties he'd prefer agreement, and cd adjourn. If not he'll make decision

Judge indicates he'd raised whether this was an appropriate discussion to be having in public

Judge - Not for the first time in this case I find myself being asked to make a determination when I haven't got all the evidence

samesorrystory · 25/07/2017 14:52

Nowhere will want to touch him with a barge pole for fear of the attendant publicity and dreadful CA

JaneEyre70 · 25/07/2017 14:52

They're going to get his birthday aren't they. Sighs heavily. I really don't think this is a remotely fair and appropriate use of the legal system.

GabsAlot · 25/07/2017 14:52

just a circus now its disgusting

ArmySal · 25/07/2017 14:53

Well my gast is flabbered. Poor GOSH being made to look bad in the eyes of the dim, every step of the way.

Hollycatberry · 25/07/2017 14:53

@skyrobcatherall

Judge asks for timetable for Charlie's final days. Family's lawyer says GOSH haven't visited the family home

MirandaWest · 25/07/2017 14:53

This is really awful. All of it but very much this part.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:54

Probably not to his home because of the logistics, the demands of the parents for ongoing ventilation and the reluctance of staff to engage with that demand.

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:54

Charlie is kept dangling. Not bloomin'fair. Charlie doesn't even know or care about his Birthday, bless him.

smilingmind · 25/07/2017 14:54

This is beyond awful

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 25/07/2017 14:55

This will never stop rolling on until the judge is finally forced to make a mandatory order. This will never be about Charlie.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:55

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: we do need to have a deadline for discussions among the parties. I suggest we sit again at 1400 tomorrow.
