If anyone wants to post, perhaps we could consider what implications today's case might have for others in future ... ?

OP posts:

This is going to drag on for far too long. More meetings, more court time, more potential suffering for poor Charlie. I think it's all about his birthday.

JaneEyre70 · 25/07/2017 14:55

Another adjournment. Just furious. For Charlie.

sodablackcurrant · 25/07/2017 14:55

Gosh don't need to visit the family home, google maps will tell them all they need to know about logistics of the place.

And I doubt they would ever have been allowed in anyway.

Sirzy · 25/07/2017 14:55

and do the media circus rolls on.

I can't see any hospice wanting to be part of this. Even if it was deemed as best for the poor child will they really want to get involved having seen the anemosity and abuse levlled at those involved so far

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:56

And so another day passes where his parents aren't with him, but are in court. Another day that Charlie suffers.

ArmySal · 25/07/2017 14:56

Seems pretty petulant now.

LovelyBath77 · 25/07/2017 14:56

Surely the priority should be calm, peace and pain relief, expert support for this process of life support withdrawal, over anything else?

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:56

@JoshuaRozenberg

Court adjourned for about half an hour.

yolofish · 25/07/2017 14:56

dear god, that poor little baby. they said in court (yesterday?) that they had elicited pain responses. I think I said this several threads ago, but you wouldnt be allowed to do this to a pet dog or cat, and would be (rightly IMO) prosecuted if you did.

this is all about the parents, not about what Charlie needs - which in my view is to be allowed to go gently, and go soon.

LovelyBath77 · 25/07/2017 14:56

for the child I mean, and where the best place for that is.

friendlysnakehere · 25/07/2017 14:56

I don't think any of this is about Charlie now, it fighting the 'establishment'.

BlueAutumnSkies · 25/07/2017 14:57

This whole case has just reinforced to me how important it is that overall someone impartial makes the decision, however hard for the parents. Poor little mite, he deserves dignity and to pass away as pain-free as possible. Sad

LovelyBath77 · 25/07/2017 14:58

Or sort of romanticising death. It's not always pretty

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:58

Nope..it is all about what C&C want. When one thinks of the parents who have no option but to cope when their beloved children are in a similar situation..they do so without all this stubborn ''battling''.

The battling is a reflex action now.

SomeDyke · 25/07/2017 14:58

In my worst nightmares, I didn't imagine we would still be sat here with the parties arguing about the width of front doors, a few days isn't weeks, can't he go to his grans, this is just obscene..............

And the judge desperately trying and trying. He doesn't want to rule without full evidence..............

He suggests 14:00 tomorrow, and adjourned for half an hour. This is beyond everything I ever imagined might happen. Just STOP, think of Charlie and STOP...............

LovelyBath77 · 25/07/2017 14:58

A child is not a possession

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 25/07/2017 14:59

What will the half hour adjournment be for? Is that routine or are they hoping to review the "expert evidence" in that time?

MMXV · 25/07/2017 14:59

You don't get to have your supporters make threat deaths openly to doctors on your family-moderated social media and then ask doctors to come to your house and look after your dying child. They, too, are human.

Writerwannabe83 · 25/07/2017 14:59

*Today 14:55 MissHavishamsleftdaffodil

This will never stop rolling on until the judge is finally forced to make a mandatory order. This will never be about Charlie.*

I agree. He must know that C&C will never back down or come to a mutual agreement with GOSH. It's awful that he's been put in this position but he needs to put an end to this.

LovelyBath77 · 25/07/2017 14:59

None of this needs to take place in court, bizarre, as the judge said mediation would have covered it

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:59

Friendlysnake//yes, ''them against us, sticking it to the man type of thing.

Lynnm63 · 25/07/2017 14:59

I'm really losing patience with the parents now. They withdrew yesterday because they knew they'd LOSE and Judge Francis would order life support turned off. This way they get to prolong poor Charlies suffering for their own benefit. If Charlie were a puppy they'd be prosecuted for prolonging his suffering plus Neonatal ICU beds are scarce and some poor child who might get better is being denied treatment at GOSH because there's no bed, never mind how many could have been treated with the money spent defending this case.

Trust has gone, I think.

nina2b · 25/07/2017 15:00

All this "discussion" is intrusive. IMO
