If anyone wants to post, perhaps we could consider what implications today's case might have for others in future ... ?

thy want several days at home?

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:42

C&C 'want Charlie at home for several days on ventilator? [...til his Birthday?]...what about qualified medical care?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 25/07/2017 14:42

"several days at home on a ventilator". They want Charlie to have his birthday don't they? Sad

Ellie56 · 25/07/2017 14:42

This is not about Charlie.

blueskyinmarch · 25/07/2017 14:42

Actually it probably makes perfect sense when you think of his birthday looming. By spinning his out they may get to that date.

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:43

Gabs...I couldn't believe this..several days at home??

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 25/07/2017 14:43

This is what the family mentioned previously, isn't it? Wanting him at home where they could bath him and he could sleep in his cot. How is that possible with a child needing ICU care?

TheFairyCaravan · 25/07/2017 14:43

Several days at home with him on a ventilator. Where will they find the nurses to go with him?

GabsAlot · 25/07/2017 14:43

and whos to say onc hom thy'll refus to let anyone in

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 25/07/2017 14:44

Delaying tactics.
They seriously expect an NHS hospital to supply clinicians to their home for several days?!
Or are they going to pay clinicians privately to do so, out of the fund? If GOSH agree that it wouldn't affect Charlie to be at home with private care I have no problem with that.

Judge: there is no point in prolonging the process.

Is that saying what I think it is?????????

oakleaffy · 25/07/2017 14:44

We all on here seem to feel the same..''buying yet more time for parent's own needs?[Charlie's Birthday]

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 25/07/2017 14:44

Would the "several days" issue also be why a small portable ventilator wouldn't be appropriate?

Not to mention the expert care he would need & the reality of there being no guarantee how C&C might react when the ventilator is due to be withdrawn.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:44

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: there is no point in prolonging the process.

sodablackcurrant · 25/07/2017 14:44

They will never agree to turn the ventilator off. Someone else will have to decide.

Highly trained medical staff cannot care for a child so sick in a house FGS.

MillieMoodle · 25/07/2017 14:44

I think the crux of this hearing is that Charlie's parents want to take him home and have a few days with him. GOSH want it to be over as soon as possible. It's very clear that neither party trusts the other.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:45

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: can we set a timetable?

MirandaWest · 25/07/2017 14:45

I can't see how several days at home on a ventilator is a good idea.

Surely there would be many visitors. And how could care be provided?

MMXV · 25/07/2017 14:45

Judge Francis - please put an end to this circus. Spare this beloved child of the universe such suffering. No more of this.

There are other children at GOSH who need these doctors and nurses more.

TheFairyCaravan · 25/07/2017 14:45

Is anyone else feeling really bad for Judge Francis?

Redglitter · 25/07/2017 14:45

Several days?? They were given several days about 3 weeks ago. If they remove him from hospital this will turn into even more of a pantomime. They should keep it private, in the hospital and make it soon

Wafflenose · 25/07/2017 14:46

I can't believe what I'm reading. That poor little baby.

JaneEyre70 · 25/07/2017 14:46

I feel awful for the Judge but he so needs to end this now.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:46

@JoshuaRozenberg

Armstrong: we are not asking for a period of weeks.

Venusflytwat · 25/07/2017 14:46

The Judge still vainly thinks logic will prevail. I admire him for it but it won't work here. He needs to rule to end Charlie's suffering in a controlled, safe, familiar, resources environment.
