If anyone wants to post, perhaps we could consider what implications today's case might have for others in future ... ?

I can't believe yesterday anybody thought this would be over. Sad

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 25/07/2017 14:37

"This is just beyond awful. I hope Charlie is 'beyond experience'......"

This, 100 times.

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 25/07/2017 14:37

Who's briefing the parents against the hospital now?!

Gollop: GOSH has taken enormous care to find hospice willing to take Charlie. Hospices can't provide medical care of the sort Charlie needs.

cant find a hpsice

One thing that seems to happen in days/weeks after a death of a beloved person, is their their final days is played over and over in the grieving people's minds.
I wonder if in months to come if C&C wiull regret not having spent really private [as private as one can be in PICU] times with Charlie..and not kept on 'til bitter end in legal battling.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:39

@JoshuaRozenberg

Gollop QC: we've been trying for a very long time to balance parents wishes with Charlie's interests.

JustHangingAround · 25/07/2017 14:39

Is evidence allowed to be presented without all parties knowing about it beforehand?

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:39

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: could GOSH provide similar assistance if Charlie taken to a family member's home? What's the problem with transport to a home?

JaneEyre70 · 25/07/2017 14:39

OMG now they're talking about someone's elses house. What does that achieve? FGS.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:40

@JoshuaRozenberg

Gollop: because parents wanted several days with Charlie at home on ventilator.

Ellie56 · 25/07/2017 14:40

Just when you thought the merry go round had come to a standstill, it starts up again.

TheFairyCaravan · 25/07/2017 14:40

This is such a mess 😥

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:40

And there is the problem that I anticipated - they are not accepting that he will die straight away

GabsAlot · 25/07/2017 14:40

sorry if thyr so paranoid why do thy want this playd out in public still

Venusflytwat · 25/07/2017 14:40

This is lunacy now.
If a hospice can't care for him how on Earth can they expect GOSH to safely set up in a family member's home? Especially this family?

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:41

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: if a day or two would help, I'll adjourn. If not, I'll decide. But better if they can agree.

SomeDyke · 25/07/2017 14:41

because parents wanted several days with Charlie at home on ventilator.

Surely that is impossible! Just that, impossible. Certainly nothing like the process that has been described elsewhere on these threads.

I'm beyond gobsmacked..................

blueskyinmarch · 25/07/2017 14:41

Several days with him on a ventilator will prolong this agony. It makes no sense. What are hey hoping to achieve?

Butterymuffin · 25/07/2017 14:41

I hope the judge can keep Charlie and avoiding his further suffering as the top priority here.

CaveMum · 25/07/2017 14:41

And there we go: they want days at home with Charlie. Can't they see it's just not possible. GOSH can't spare nurses/doctors for days on end.
