If anyone wants to post, perhaps we could consider what implications today's case might have for others in future ... ?

OK angel, I'll leave it to you now.

alcibiades · 25/07/2017 14:18

I don't think it would be a peaceful and serene passing if they took him home, with all the noise of the inevitable media scrum outside.

Armstrong: we believe a portable ventilator should be perfectly possible.

@JoshuaRozenberg 2m2 minutes ago

Armstrong: if Charlie had been taken to the US, a portable ventilator could have been used. We can't understand what the problem is now.

@JoshuaRozenberg 3m3 minutes ago
Armstrong: transfer across London seems problematic. Judge: practical problems?

Gard: earlier, the judge asked if Connie Yates was happy for this hearing to remain open to the public. She said yes.

sodablackcurrant · 25/07/2017 14:21

I have a feeling if it can happen, it will.

From earlier information the Judge said the child should not be moved from GOSH without his permission,.

StealthPolarBear · 25/07/2017 14:21

Presumably they'd need a police escort

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:21

Sorry for the slight hiatus there, mumsnet crashed on me!

Judge: GOSH says ventilator won't fit through the front door of the property to which Charlie's parents want to take him.

GabsAlot · 25/07/2017 14:22

Judge: what about a hospice? Armstrong: second-best option.

GabsAlot · 25/07/2017 14:23

why does she want it to remain public

feel its all for show no

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 25/07/2017 14:23

I can't see managers being willing to be responsible for staff going into such a vulnerable position. I wonder if the transport thing has been GOSH trying to prevent having to say this.

angelnix · 25/07/2017 14:24

@JoshuaRozenberg

Judge: these are issues that cry out for mediation rather than a judgment by me.

Writerwannabe83 · 25/07/2017 14:24

Judge: GOSH says ventilator won't fit through the front door of the property to which Charlie's parents want to take him.

Short term use ventilators and so I'm assuming portable ventilators can actually be really small. The ones we use at my Trust when we ventilate a child are small enough that they'd fit in a carrier bag

sodablackcurrant · 25/07/2017 14:24

The parents obviously just want the child out of GOSH at all costs.

It must be so humiliating for the staff after all they have done.

The parents had discussions with GOSH yesterday and today and would have been informed that the equipment would not fit in through their door.

cjt110 · 25/07/2017 14:24

I hope they manage to get an agreement

opinionatedfreak · 25/07/2017 14:24

Judge is getting frustrated and little wonder.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 25/07/2017 14:24

If the Judge is asking about a hospice, that would seem to imply that he's willing to consider Charlie being moved doesn't it?

Will they find a hospice to accept him?

AcrossthePond55 · 25/07/2017 14:25

I agree Gabs. If for no other reason than that I would want to keep my plans private. They're going to end up with CA doing candlelight vigils on the front lawn.

DorotheaBeale · 25/07/2017 14:25

Judge is getting fed up, I think.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 25/07/2017 14:25

Oh dear. If Charlie were to die during the transfer, GOSH will be blamed again.
I think the hospice suggestion is terrible, sorry Judge Francis. There's no way they'd be able to keep quiet which hospice Charlie had gone to and that would then become another part of the circus.
