Is that you Nigel?

LivingOnAnIsland · 24/06/2017 19:38

Who's Nigel?

OP posts:
TizzyDongue · 24/06/2017 19:39

You. Maybe.

Faithless12 · 24/06/2017 19:39

I really don't understand how that makes him a creep. Personally I couldn't care less if he was there, it's a music festival who cares.

OddBoots · 24/06/2017 19:40

A politician speaking to the public about the things that matter to them, yeah, so 'ugh'.

ShatnersBassoon · 24/06/2017 19:41

I don't know what he's done. Can anyone fill me in?

LivingOnAnIsland · 24/06/2017 19:42

Ah that explains it - I thought Glastonbury was a music festival, my mistake

GraciesMansion · 24/06/2017 19:42

Why a creep? What a bizarre word to choose to use for this. I understand you might not like his politics but how is it creepy?!

OptimisticOllie · 24/06/2017 19:42

Agreed OP!

FidgetSpinner · 24/06/2017 19:43

He was very popular, good on him!

MycatsaPirate · 24/06/2017 19:43

Is that you Theresa?

Are you feeling a bit jealous?

OddBoots · 24/06/2017 19:44

"I don't know what he's done. Can anyone fill me in?"

He was invited to Glastonbury to speak from the pyramid stage and he did. Looks like he drew a huge crowd and was received positively but then you'd kind of expect that at Glasto.

ShatnersBassoon · 24/06/2017 19:45

Oh, he's spoken about politics. That's not really creepy is it?

Glastonbury isn't just about music anyway. It has all sorts of angles to it eg environmental, spiritual, political.

Smellbellina · 24/06/2017 19:47

Is there any particular reason why he shouldn't be at Glastonbury?
He was invited after all...

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 24/06/2017 19:47

I have a huge amount of grudging respect for Jeremy Corbyn. I didn't want him as leader of the Labour Party - he is far more left wing than I am.

But he is sincere. He believes in stuff. And he says what he believes and he sticks with it.

And you have to admire that.

Branleuse · 24/06/2017 19:48

It was an absolutely brilliant speech

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 19:48

Damn him for turning up to things.

The public love him. Me included. Never known a politician to be so loved and honestly as a young voter myself it gives me hope for the future, and for those younger than me to be inspired by politics, not bored by it.

Branleuse · 24/06/2017 19:48

for those that havent seen it yet

roselondoner · 24/06/2017 19:48

Glastonbury has all kind of acts on, if the creator of the festival is stood on stage with him I think he's fine..... he also smashed it and got the biggest crowd of the fest so far so no I don't think he's a creep!

QuiQuaiQuod · 24/06/2017 19:49

bottom of the barrel for votes! hell do anything, hes that desperate.

unicorns and rainbow promises.

hypocrite of the highest degree.

and yes, Glastos a MUSIC festival, not a political rally.

and that goes for johnny depp too, wether people like Trump or not thatw as an awful thing to say.

WTF influence has JC (I guess its the initials!!) have over the young? hes like a Svengali, a Rasputin IMO. cant stand him.

and I WAS a labour supporter before.

TheSultanofPingu · 24/06/2017 19:49

Shame on him, getting the younger generation enthusiastic about politics!

FeckinCrutches · 24/06/2017 19:50

I'm very confused as to why you think he's a creep OP?

Emmageddon · 24/06/2017 19:50

Nowt creepy about Corbyn. He's fabulous. A rockstar politician. When he came to my coastal town, the day before the election, the promenade and beach were packed with hundreds and hundreds of people, all chanting and singing. It reminded me of being at a festival.

Has May received an invitation to speak at Glasto? No? How bizarre.

flibberdee · 24/06/2017 19:52

I love him, I wish he was my uncle!

As a PP said - he's sincere, he really believes in stuff and he sticks to his guns. All the things we are used to a politician NOT being.

JC for PM!!!

hazeyjane · 24/06/2017 19:53

If he was up there talking about his love of pre worn slippers, then 'ugh, what a creep!' would be fair enough.

Talking about politics and social cohesion at a festival with a long history of being about so much more than music, and a history of links with the peace movement, not so creepy.
