I'm not a JC fan but I can't see anything wrong with it.

No-one was forced to listen to him.

CrowyMcCrowFace · 24/06/2017 20:29

Also, Glasto is hardly a field full of dippy teenagers. I'm 46 & have mates who've been going for 30 years.

More of a Download girl m'self.

cantdothisagan2017 · 24/06/2017 20:30

He won me over when he was on tv and clearly unable to commit to ever pressing the nuclear button. My 15 y o dd is almost in love with him, she has posters of him in her room and joined young labour !

Frouby · 24/06/2017 20:30

He has engaged young people in politics. He is passionate about what he believes in which is more than can be said for TM et al who have had to back away from their manifesto. He speaks with integrity and compassion. And hasn't engaged in the political slandering that others have. He actually turned up at Grenfell.

I love him. I hope he is at every festival throughout the summer and every festival has a JC chant. Even if he isn't PM bu the end of the year his presence is enough to curb the tory manifesto of for the few and not the many.

soapboxqueen · 24/06/2017 20:30

Don't think creep is the right word. If he's invited to speak and people want to listen, then it's nobody else's beeswax.

Really don't like him though. Voted for him first time round, not the second, left the party because it is toxic. Really cross with him about his behaviour over brexit.

whitehandledkitchenknife · 24/06/2017 20:31

Keep your eye on the horizon whilst you're laying the path Agent. Nothing wrong with Utopian ideals. One step at a time.
Maybe, just maybe, we'll get someone who can begin to turn the oil tanker of inequality, injustice and downright selfishness around.

Great speech. And he doesn't feel the need to resort to personal insults about those who don't agree with him. Just saying...

user1471545174 · 24/06/2017 20:35

He's going to give everything to everyone, Solo, that's why he's so great Grin

PunkrockerGirl · 24/06/2017 20:35

Sour grapes OP
This with bells on.

I really hope so, whitehandled. It's difficult to have any faith sometimes. When I was 11 my mum made me stay up watching Labour's votes rolling in at the election with her and said things were going to be so much better now. God bless her, but they weren't. So I'm not jaded by any means, but a bit cautious!

MarciaBlaine · 24/06/2017 20:37

I want to see Jacob Rees Smug up there in front of that crowd. That would be entertaining Grin

ASauvingnonADay · 24/06/2017 20:37

I thought he was fucking great.

PortiaCastis · 24/06/2017 20:38

I thought Creep was played last night and was also brilliant

GerdaLovesLili · 24/06/2017 20:38

It's all very "culty" isn't it? He's a human politician, he just hasn't been tried and found wanting yet. I find this whole "Dear Leader" thing quite frightening.

MommaGee · 24/06/2017 20:38

OP you coming back to elaborate on creepy?
He's hardly hanging out at a teenybopper festival hanging outside the girls showers.

Glasto is pretty middle-class middle age anyway isn't it? Most the people I know who go certainly are. And all vote Labor so they'll be thrilled

pieceofpurplesky · 24/06/2017 20:39

It amazes me that people make such sweeping statements without knowing what Glastonbury is. It started as a hippy festival and has promoted the CND for many years - and had many political speakers over the years.

MommaGee · 24/06/2017 20:40

Daily Fail seems to think its a BBC cinsiracy to bring down TM

MarciaBlaine · 24/06/2017 20:41

Everyone seems to say he can't deliver what he promises. And that is probably true. But if he can deliver some of it that would be much better than what the other side is promising they can deliver. Which is also not achievable. He was unelectable according to some 3 months ago. Look at him now.

MommaGee · 24/06/2017 20:41

That's why I asked not stated pieceofpurplesky

BuzzKillington · 24/06/2017 20:42

I am not a fan, but kudos to a nearly 70 year old politician who can engage like that with a festival crowd.

tabulahrasa · 24/06/2017 20:43

I'm guessing it's a regular thing... I know he cancelled his appearance last year because he was due to appear the day after the referendum result.

I know this because I posted on Facebook very amused at the thought of him at Glastonbury and my labour ex mp tried to convince me that Corbyn is a ukelele player...

I'm disappointed now that he just gives speeches.

Didiusfalco · 24/06/2017 20:45

I think it's great that there's a politician who can actually connect with people.

Saying he's fake is a bit ridiculous as his track record as an mp shows he is remarkably consistent and true to his principles.

PortiaCastis · 24/06/2017 20:45

Daily Mail thinks it's a conspiracy
Well when they can only provide pissed as a fart journos for QT I laugh at them

chicaguapa · 24/06/2017 20:45

He turned up in a fleet of gas guzzling 4x4s.

How fascinating that you've quoted the actual Daily Fail headline there. Didn't the 4x4s belong to the farm? Not that I give a shit tbh. But you clearly do. Don't let the facts get in the way of that though. Hmm
