Pann - why are you telling people to drop the 'evil bastard handle'?? do we need to know anything more about him than that he raped and murdered his 2 year old neice?

People can post what they want here. It's an open forum, remember?

littlemissbossy · 15/02/2007 17:09

ggg - abso-bloody-lutely! I heard on the radio that the uncle/attacker has been remanded in custody. I hate violence but it's one of those times where you hope someone gets him in the prison showers and kicks the shit out of him

It is....

And we none of us, appreciate enough what we have.

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2007 17:10

oh ggglimpopo, i'd like to scoop you up right now. [enormous hug]

TaylorsMummy · 15/02/2007 17:11

i don't even think he needs a trial. he's guilty as hell. don't you think they must have dna evidence on him?

Pann · 15/02/2007 17:11

TM.

not telling anyone to do anything. If you read it properly, it's a request.

'evil bastard' - yes, we do need to know more about him. IMO. Can say this as it is an open forum.

not being controversial or argumentative.

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2007 17:12

okay taylorsmummy... we need trials. we're civilised, or trying to be.

oh dear. Time to leave it to the mob.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/02/2007 17:14

Time to leave full stop. This thread being bumped is upsetting GGG, so if anyone wants to comment on anything I have said - please start a new thread calling for me without out a title similar to this please.

Thank you.

TaylorsMummy · 15/02/2007 17:14

i don't need to know anymore than what i've already read. they don't charge people without good reason. they have left her dad and other uncle go but charged him. it's not even worth spending any more money on him.

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2007 17:15

good idea, vvv. last time i bump this. anyway, i'm finding the baying off-putting.

ELF1981 · 15/02/2007 17:23

This is tragic. My heart goes out for that little girl and those who loved her.

I change my mind quite frequently on hanging as a punishment. I dont know what the answer is, but I feel that the family of the victim deserve to have more say in what goes off. I know life should mean life, and if you take a life then yours should be taken - whether that is eventually decided to be corporal punishment or by LIFE imprisonment, either way is better than a 15yr term (if that happened, this guy would be 36, still time to live his life).

Have any of your read Jodi Picoult's "Perfect Match", it's a v good book on how far a mother goes after finding her child has been sexually abused. Changed my views.

are you saying you think he could be innocent then?

donnie · 15/02/2007 18:13

I haven't read the link or all this thread but all I can say is : I have posted many times on MN against the death penalty but I increasingly honestly do feel that maybe in cases such as these the criminals are so depraved and vile that they should be meted out mob justice.

Perhaps some people are too wicked to deserve anything else.

oxocube · 15/02/2007 18:14

I haven't read all the posts on this thread so apologies if I'm repeating but IN PRINCIPLE, I am opposed to the death penalty. Its not something any civilised society should condone, IN PRACTICE, if someone had done this to any of my children, I would pull the trigger/give the injection/whatever myself with no remorse.

And if that makes me an evil person, then I would be prepared to live with the consequences.

tiredemma · 15/02/2007 18:15

Taylorsmummy- Get a grip.

Nobody suggested at all that he is innocent.

You said that 'they dont charge people without good reason'

Cods reply to this (im assuming) is that people have and can be charged for offences, only for later on - these charges to be thrown out of court.

These are often called 'miscarriages of justice' and precisely why capital punishment doesnt work.

Before you go all mental on me- I imagine that the uncle is guilty, but I dont have the evidence before me, neither do you. That is why we have court cases, by jury in this country. Thats how it works see?????

oxocube · 15/02/2007 18:15

Sorry VVV, just read your post. And love to ggg
