Just seen this in the BBC website. His poor, poor victim

OP posts:
user1466690252 · 14/10/2016 17:11

I think ched didnt rape her, she consented. Even she didnt bring up a rape case till the police pursued it.

SouthWestmom · 14/10/2016 17:16

The Ched Evans verdict reads scarily like the new evidence that allowed a not guilty verdict was that the woman had previously had sex with other people and actively participated. As CE referenced this and some fairly unoriginal words used, is this really all that made a difference?

What can we do? I really really feel that referring to previous sexual activity is wrong. I'm not sure about consent , I don't think. Black and white definition would work and I do think you can be drunk and consent, but on this I think we, as women, should send a strong message that we can have sex with whoever and whenever we want and still say no.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 14/10/2016 17:21

The amount of people calling the woman a slag is incredible. His behaviour was revolting and yet people throw the word 'innocent' around. He might have been found not guilty but he certainly isn't 'innocent'. I wouldn't stand by a man like that, God knows what his fiancée is playing at.

OliviaBensonOnAGoodDay · 14/10/2016 17:28

Incredibly sad. I still believe her too and I hope beyond all hope that she can rebuild her life from this.

SouthWestmom · 14/10/2016 17:41

Omg.

I just idly googled and within a minute I had the poor woman's name and links to abusive tweets.

What the fuck is wrong with people? How can they care so much about a scummy shagger (even if they think he's not a rapist) that they hope the other person dies ?

I'm actually scared by how much anonymity reveals about what's inside people's heads.

UnoriginalNN · 14/10/2016 17:41

I hope the victim, wherever she is, can read support like this instead of the shite on twitter from a bunch of dumb fucks.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE - WE BELIEVE YOU.

ICuntSeeYourPoint · 14/10/2016 17:45

I still believe her.

It's a fucking disgrace that they can get some ex-boyfriends in to describe their sex life with her and that's considered evidence! What fucking evidence is it that she's had sex with someone else before, and for £50,000 they've described it for the court. It'd pretty standard sexual things as well - who hasn't at some point given some kind of instruction to a sexual partner or had sex in a few different positions? Does that mean you can't be raped? It's disgusting and it's a terrible injustice that he can go around calling himself innocent when he himself described rape that night. She was too drunk to consent. She didn't consent. He raped her. That's my opinion in case stating the fucking obvious as fact gets me deleted.

Tiredemma · 14/10/2016 17:48

The law is an ass.

legotits · 14/10/2016 17:52

It's the lead item on radio 4 news, how it can be reported that the jury agreed with his claims to innocence is beyond me.

I must be stupid, I don't understand.

merrymouse · 14/10/2016 18:00

I think ched didnt rape her, she consented.

Your definition of consensual sex must be rather loose then.

CreamCrackerundertheSettee · 14/10/2016 18:05

It is disgusting that the new evidence was that she had two other sexual partners. What message is this?! If you've ever had sex or had sex after a rape you won't be beileved. It is disgusting.

Does anyone know whether there can be an appeal?

UnoriginalNN · 14/10/2016 18:08

She was 19 yrs old. She hasn't gained anything at all. She has lost everything. Her mum has passed away while all this has been going on. I really, really hope she finds a place away from all of this to rebuild her life.

Ched Evans' fiancee is a disgrace to womankind. Get pregnant by him as many times as you like, marry the tosser, but it won't undo the fact that he a) cheated and b) raped someone. Slow hand clap for you sweetie.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/10/2016 18:09

It greatly heartens me that my 22 year old football going son and his mates think that Ched Evans is a lowlife scum rapist. And that my 20 year old daughter and her mates think his girlfriend is pathetic and deluded. Attitudes are changing even with this setback.

BeyondPolkadots · 14/10/2016 18:11

Always worth a shot...

abbsismyhero · 14/10/2016 18:13

They are checking the validity of the petition so I can't sign it

CrowyMcCrowFace · 14/10/2016 18:15

I believe her.

That poor girl.

& I'm glad I'm not bringing my daughters up in the UK.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 14/10/2016 18:18

I still believe her

Disgusting how her sexual history was used against her.

W8woman · 14/10/2016 18:21

Utterly horrified by this verdict and the precedent it sets.

Hallowmallow3 · 14/10/2016 18:29

I still believe her and I can't understand this verdict at all. I don't get how he can be found not guilty when you read what happened. I think the vitriol towards the victim is disgraceful and she should hold her head up high. She has done nothing at all wrong and I was chilled when I read the police warned her to expect more online abuse. What's wrong with people that they think it's ok to treat a person like that?

Mel0Drama · 14/10/2016 18:31

I believe her.

2kids2dogsnosense · 14/10/2016 18:32

I believe her.

Her previous and subsequent sexual history has nothing to do with what happened that night.

He is an entitled piece of crap - and I can't understand how his gf stays with him.. Even if what he said was true he has still cheated on her (and not for the first time)

Heathen4Hire · 14/10/2016 18:34

I believe her.

She has never sought publicity over this. She has moved away and tried to get on with her life. Online trolls keep naming her making her life a misery. Poor woman.

2kids2dogsnosense · 14/10/2016 18:34

I think ched didnt rape her, she consented. Even she didnt bring up a rape case till the police pursued it.

Perhaps because she knew the vitriol that would be hurled in her direction

IamalsoSpartacus · 14/10/2016 18:40

The Guardian reports that the fiancee contacted the hotel receptionist to ask whether he had 'remembered anything that mght help Ched', referencing the large reward, but the jury were not allowed to be told that she was effectively inducing people to change their evidence as the judge didn't agree with this description of what was happening.

It's very dodgy.

UnoriginalNN · 14/10/2016 18:42

Pretty sure she didnt initially claim rape because she didnt know what had happened to her - all she knew was that she'd woken up naked in a hotel room - CE and friend then confirmed they'd had sex with her and so came the charge of rape. Because, quite simply, that is rape.
