I'm really not sure where I stand. A lot of it just sems like school girl horridness

OP posts:
ruty · 18/01/2007 11:12

yes exactly dotcotton!

compo · 18/01/2007 11:17

new housemates wll have been in hiding so won't know what's been said in or outside the house

Blu · 18/01/2007 11:18

Who was it, the night before last, who made a muttered comment about Shilpa's cooking and said "I just don't like the fact that she touches the food"?
This , following the earlier "eat with their hands..you never know where they've been" comment can't be associated with anything other than racist ssumptions that indian (or Chinese....they seem confused) people eat with 'their' hands. How can this not be racist? To be unhappy about eating food cooked by someone because they have touched it? IF the harpies ever do any cooking, do theyr wear rubber gloves??

But I agree with freckle and Batters...the issue is bullying and bitchiness, and i think they use all thier racist ignorance and assumptions in with that mix.

And that class and education are as much of an issue as the racism.

But actually, my disgust over what BB is has been increased, if that is possible, because I think ignorant, horrible, thick-as-shit Jade is also a victim of it. How is she supposed to be able to carry herself in the company of genuine hard work and talent, such as Shilpa and Jermaine? BB knew she would make a complete fool of herself and be shown up...and since she has fewer resources (grey matter, talent, confidence and self-esteem) than people like Shilpa, I think her life will be trashed irrevocably - and very cruelly.

nulnulcat · 18/01/2007 11:18

just a small point but if jade and co are being accused of bullying someone for there background then what is everyone guilty off that has accused jade of being thick and mentioning her background, she cant help being brought up the way she has and from what i understand didnt she miss most of her schooling because she had to care for an alcoholic druggy mother

im not making excuses for her behaviour but surely bitching about her makes everyone on her level

tinkerbellie · 18/01/2007 11:18

what new housemates??

Blu · 18/01/2007 11:20

re Danielle's 'apology'. The fact that she had described the row as a 'highlight' a few seconds earlier, and was seen laughing and loving it thorughout, and congratulating Jade in the re-run afterwards, kind of belies any genuine epiphany.

We shall see.

You could see she was suddenly scared of what she had been filmed saying when they asked about the 'fuck off home' comment....

compo · 18/01/2007 11:20

3 coming in at some point. Mark Bosnich is one

dotcotton · 18/01/2007 11:21

God i hope that Courtney Love rumour is true, she's madder and badder than all of them and Jade & Co will be terrified of her! Lauren H would just take the heat off Shilpa as she'll become the new target of bullying.

Actually i really can't see this picking up from here, it can't exactly go back to 'normal' CBB lighthearted gunging/lyrca -wearing tasks now can it? Or can it?

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 18/01/2007 11:22

who are they? Frank Bruno and Opra Winfree perhaps?

compo · 18/01/2007 11:22

Blu - but even then it was as though she hadn't understood the implication of what she had said. She said 'no, I don't want anyone to go home'....

expatinscotland · 18/01/2007 11:22

As for Shilpa having servants, does the series 'Jade's PA' ring any bells?

How about how Jade and her family conducted themselves when they first got into the house and everyone had to be their servants?

sassy · 18/01/2007 11:23

Mrak Bosnich? REally? He of Nzi salute at Tottenham crowds iirc?

That will keep things calm (and ofcom off BB's back )

expatinscotland · 18/01/2007 11:23

OMG, Courtney Love would smack the shit out of Jade in a second. That crazy loon takes on grown men.

tinkerbellie · 18/01/2007 11:23

the same thing happened a couple of years ago when victor and emma were arguing and they called security in and she had to leave

i don;t think it's racism but it is bullying and its not nice, they are going to get a shock when they come out (when jade or one of them goes on friday )andthe two remaining hear all the boos

i feel a bit sorry for davina and all the bad press (well on here anyway) she is getting for taking them to task etc, she hasn't had a chance to say anything yet (apart to jackiey and she was prob worried that jackiey would headbutt her) butthen they prob don' allow her to ask certain things that will show the show in a bad light

expatinscotland · 18/01/2007 11:25

Feel sorry for Jade?

She's got £8m for being a chav.

Nothing to feel sorry about!

Ditto Davina.

Blu · 18/01/2007 11:25

nulcat - but she IS. Unfortunately, as I put in my post, that actually makes her a tragic victim of BB, too. She can't help it, no, but she could, perhaps, help her attitude, as a fully grown woman who must have some awareness of what bullying is to have been involved with the charity...

MadamePlatypus · 18/01/2007 11:25

Ironically, back in the days when everybody was being mean to Jade when she was on normal BB, there was an article in the Guardian saying that one of the reasons for people being anti-Jade was that she looked as though she was mixed race.

Anyway, if CBB is dominated by brainless nobodies what is the point of normal BB?

dotcotton · 18/01/2007 11:25

Compo, Danielle said - oh i didnt mean it like that, then started blathering about not wanting anyone to go home ie leave the house.

She did mean it like that and then made a dim-witted attempt to make it sound like (ooh no i didn't want anyone to leave the house). Otherwise why did she visibly gasp when they asked her the question. She was scuppered.

ruty · 18/01/2007 11:26

But Blu there are people who don't have education or great intellect who are essentially good natured and without malice - it seems Jade Goody, unlike what some people might have initially thought - is not one of them.
I haven't been watching it so don't know what Jade's rant was about - can anyone bear to fill me in?

compo · 18/01/2007 11:28

Platypus - Jade is mixed race

Blu · 18/01/2007 11:28

And re the class / upbringing issue...I know loads of people who had very very difficult upbringings (including mothers like Jackiey), no education and not always huge intelligence..but they manage to have manners and innate consideration/ respect for other people and don't fart at people without apology all the time or snigger at people behind their backs!

Blu · 18/01/2007 11:29

snap Ruty cross-posted!

bummer · 18/01/2007 11:29

I think if my dd was experiencing this type of attitude at school I would say it was bullying. Ganging up on one person and bullying. If it was me at work experiencing this type of attitude I would say it was bullying. Bitchiness call it what you will they are being downright horrid to one female and the others are week because they are in Jade's gang. What goes around comes around please please please let it happen on screen for us all to see! Aren't the men week, thought such behaviour only happened in the soaps. It's like wild animals. They are pathetic and make me so ashamed.

nulnulcat · 18/01/2007 11:32

where i live there are unfortunately lots of people just like jade and her family

ruty · 18/01/2007 11:33

the men are completely pathetic. I watched Tuesday's epidode [the only one i've seen] and just couldn't believe no one was putting the three hags straight and defending Shilpa. Awful.
