Shiny, that is exactly what I said to DH last night, if she is incandescent with rage over a stock cube, what does she do when one of her children pees their pants? Or gets muddy footprints on the shagpile?

I agree with Kimmy. I think they should pull the plug on it now. I think that by keeping it going is sending out the message that it?s ok to behave like that. Maybe not to those of us who are more intelligent, and who know better, but to the kinds of uneducated gutter trash that look up to the likes of Jade, the message being broadcast is that she?s a force to be reckoned with, that she?s a hero, and that no-one dare stand up to her, not even the broadcasters.

I know that it?s supposedly all for charity, but tbh if I ran a charity I would not feel comfortable receiving money that was raised in such a manner.

ledodgy · 18/01/2007 10:38

good article in the times here

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 18/01/2007 10:38

Kimi has said it so well.

As for Danielle, she probably thought she was going to be the 'gorgeous' one in the house, and realises that when faced with true beauty and grace she is what she is - gutter trash with a (slightly) prettier face than some. Scrape off the makeup, remove the hair extensions and the designer clothes, and what's left?

Monkeytrousers · 18/01/2007 10:40

""I think true racism has a genuine dislike/hatred behind it." - Agree - that is how I would describe racism. "

I think that's a cop out sorry. As the saying goes, ignorance is no excuse

dotcotton · 18/01/2007 10:44

Don't worry, i'm sure Davina will take her to task on Friday

Hi Jade,! So you didnt like Shilpa much? Wow i love your new hairdo, don't you look great

Winston · 18/01/2007 10:47

If they pull the plug on it now it wouldnt be right. We now need to see those three witches of eastwick thrown out to the public as the will be ripped to shreds by the waiting crowd. No matter how much any house mate says they dont care about boos and taunts from the crowd they do and these three in particular will hate it. All it needs is one of them to go this Friday to make the the rest realise where the public stand on their behaviour. I personally dont think it is rascism but very bad bullying and one that is making me sick to watch. It has nothing to do with Shilpas culture just the mere fact she is gorgeous, intelligent and successful. SHe is a threat to the other three who assumed they would be the popular one in the house and they have tried everything to bring her down. She is coming across so well, a true lady and, although so horrible for her, I hope she can stick it out and now win the show to prove the majority of Britain are not low life thugs like those three. Shilpa to win!!!!!

Monkeytrousers · 18/01/2007 10:50

From the Times article

"This, however, ignores the fact that racism, like any prejudice, works like a dimmer switch of fear, ignorance and insensitivity, with most people placed somewhere on the continuum. Racism has a wide span, from discomfort on finding yourself alone on a bus with a black hoody to going the whole hog and naming your child ?Oswald Mosley Jnr?. And it is something of which black, Asian and mixed-race people are just as capable as whites, making Goody?s ethnicity wholly inconsequential. "

MummyPenguin · 18/01/2007 10:53

Haven't read all this thread, and have only watched the last couple of episodes of CBB, but am aware with what's been going on. Firstly, I don't really see why somebody as famous as Shilpa is, in India, would go on a programme like CBB. She says that she wants to represent her country over here, which is fair enough, but I don't think that CBB was a very wise choice for doing so. Surely she could have got a film released in UK cinemas or something?

As for Jade, well, it's just Jade being Jade. She's not being very clever, obviously, as this could damage her career, only she's not intelligent to realise that. Danielle is not even worthy of a mention. She's a coward. See how she was all remorseful on her own in the diary room? I'm disappointed in Jo, as she's always come across as a nice girl, and I thought she might have been ballsy enough to tell Jade to back off. I think Jade really lost the plot because Shilpa touched a raw nerve when she made comments to Jade like 'you should get elocution lessons.' Jade knows what she is and where she's come from, and she obviously doesn't like home truths. I said to DH, in a way, you've got to pity her, as she really doesn't know any better or any different. She was dragged up in the gutter. She's not been taught how to behave. I think Shilpa will rise above it. I think that this whole issue, like many things, will get blown out of all proportion. I heard on the radio this morning that 'Britian is declaring a race war with India.' What, on the strength of Jade Goody on CBB? I don't think so.

MummyPenguin · 18/01/2007 10:56

Someone mentioned Jade's hair. What the F has she done to it?

compo · 18/01/2007 10:57

Winston - how can we stamp on such appalling behaviour in this country though by allowing the crowd to 'rip to shreds' these 3 girls? Why do suggest treating bullying withy more bullying? It's that sort of reaction that worries me as well.

Monkeytrousers · 18/01/2007 10:58

In teh circumstances it is a great idea - I'd hazzard a guess that when she comes out her profile in the west will shoot up - as a direct consequence of her courage under fire

Monkeytrousers · 18/01/2007 11:00

Live by the media sword, die by the media sword

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 18/01/2007 11:00

I think shilpa will be evicted tomorrow and jade will win.

tinkerbellie · 18/01/2007 11:01

it brings back being at school she only reacted like that beacuse the others were laughing and egging her on, she was going to stop and then she saw all the attention she ws getting from it and started it up again, she wouldn't let it drop

i don't think it's racism i just think that it's becuase they're bitches

and i donlt know how cleo can sit there and listen to them slagging shilpa off and then go and sit with shilpa and sound surprised that she is not prepared to talk to jade anymore!! Cleo needs to decide who she wants to be friends with or if she wants to float in the middle at least nt take part in these conversations

i think that big brother could have nipped all this in the bud a bit, they should have called someone in if they saw that weren't using the oven properly or cooking chickens for the wrong amount of time, surely they donlt think we actually want to see anyone throwing up?

also whilst i am having this rant, if jo is soooo concerned about her food why doesn't she get of her arse put her ciggie out and make herself something?(also how long canone person have the same hairstyle for)

as for danielle on the red carpet task the other night, "oh my god my tits are gonna fall out" andthen she actually more or less popped one out herself, what does she think she has going for her? (apprt from her surgically enhanced pair)

also i would out eating with your hands pretty much on a par with farting and burping so loudly

there now i feel much better

tinkerbellie · 18/01/2007 11:03

i don't know with all the media coverage and sympathy etc shilpa might actually win.
every one loves an underdog and all that, at least she hasn't walked

Winston · 18/01/2007 11:05

Compo- I see your point and agree, its another form of bullying to let the crowd react badly but I cant see any other way to make people like this understand the true severity of their actions. They only understand the behaviour in which they are inflicting on others and to let them come out to cheers and Davina trying to be all nice about is the wrong message to send out. I guess the only other alternative would be to pull all three out by the back door now. What will hit them the hardest would be the loss of any further career which I can safetly say is well and truly over for all three now. Sorry Compo, have had cuppa and feeling more relaxed and not so aggressive!!

compo · 18/01/2007 11:06

Wannabe - really It seems quitre obvious to me that Jade is ging out tomorrow night by a massive majority

compo · 18/01/2007 11:08

Winston, fair enough I think to really make them see the consequences of their actions BB should tell them exactly waht they've said that was wrong and then evict all 3 by the back door so they get no publicity whatsoever. At least then they and the public will be made to see that such behaviour is not acceptable. As it is Davina (who let's not forget loves Jade) will allow her to give her side on live TV

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 18/01/2007 11:08

maybe, but channel4 have to get rid of the problem soon or ofcom will start to get heavy. If they get rid of Jade that doesn't get rid of the problem because the other two are still there and so the tention will continue, escallate even as Shilpa will be seen to be the cause of Jade's eviction. If they get rid of Shilpa it gets rid of the problem, and by the time Jade comes out it will have all blown over and there won't be mass histeria from the public etc. By doing it that way c4 will be in a win win situation, and i bet that c4 can override the public vote, in fact I seem to recall that from the last series people said it said that in their contracts.

Monkeytrousers · 18/01/2007 11:09

Does anyone think this and the fact the we have been moved up to 5 minutes to midnight on the Doomsday clock are linked??

LucyJones · 18/01/2007 11:09

I think once Jade goes out to massive boos the other two will become very quiet and realise that the public are on Shilpa's side

OP posts:
ruty · 18/01/2007 11:10

i don't think Davina will take any of them to task at all unfortunately. I can't understand how anyone can argue this isn't racism. And i can't believe the intense stupidity of the three girls, who don't understand how they are coming across and how it will affect their careers. The whole thing is deeply disturbing.

Monkeytrousers · 18/01/2007 11:12

New housemates will hopefully pull no punches
