Male violence is a hobby in MENA. That is how little menfolk from that part of the world think about the feelings of a raped woman or child. I am very disturbed that some posters still do not understand the sadness of women's lives in MENA countries pre-Taliban, pre-IS. Syria may have been an exception. I am talking about their lives before the Islamists rode in.

The only pleasure they get is from the company and emotional support of other women and of course from their children while the children are very young, but those are short years and bitter sweet because she knows her daughter will be married off early, and the son she held and loved will become just like his father, controlling and dismissive of his own wife when he marries.

Umm in the Saudi documentary aired only recently you will see small school children "learning" from text books how they should kill and behead people. far from being constrained it seems violence and subjugation are encouraged. Even the done thing. Saudi - anyway.

Rape and assault will happen all over France by all sorts of perpetrators from every single background.

But in specific relation to the abuse of women in the Muslim community we know in the UK they are being let down, FGM is still going on, with pitiful prosecutions, we know girls are still being married off, and honor killings go on.

We also know its really hard for eg a white non religious British woman, who is in an abusive relationship - to leave the perpetrator. One cant imagine how an extra layer of the elders, the community.shame/religion add extra bonds and shackles to the abused woman.

So, can we know the true extent of abusive in some communities? I have read that even a police man coming to the door brings huge shame.

Then looking to calais where there was a concentration of young male migrants, it was reported that rape was common place. Young boys had to go hospital to be repaired.
