oh sorry - I recognise that bit - I read the thread in the wrong order.
Im not convinced. I rather favour that they gave an overseas terrorist aid grant to a dodgy saudi arabian fundamentalist group to get rid of the twin towers asbestos/insurance liability, and then looked the other way.

I've just googled some of this and it looks as though Flight 93 was wrongly indentified as another flight which left at the same time. That flight landed at Cleveland, due to a suspected bomb on board. There was apparently 'a middle eastern' man on board using his mobile and refusing to stop. Also there were two men with 'middle eastern' names (the same name) registered on the flight but only one on board.

They realised they had wrongly identified the plane and quickly retratced their statement but it had already been put out there by then.

Sobernow, not read all the links yet, but, as a general musing...were the CIA not on high alert for a terrorist attack, and, therefore, whilst they may not have known the full extent of what was about to happen, they could certainly move around resources, and cancel other non-important engagements, knowing that certain issues could occur that would be more important?

I think that the US gov knew about it. NOT Bush tho, because I don't think he had been in power long enough to have been the driving force and also he needed to look like it was a shock and he can't act for toffee. However I think that they knew about the planes into the WTC plot and then decided to guild the lily by orchetrating the Pentagon and Flight 93. So, by making it look like the central hub of the country's defence was also under attack it absolved them of any accusations of muppetry and enhanced the image that the whole country was at threat and therefore justified war in Afghanistan and vicariously Iraq.

I don't buy the planes being landed elsewhere and the passenger being disembarked thing. If anything I believe that they were sacrificed to make the whole thing more real. I think the calls were genuine (they were not made at 34,000 feet but as the plane was descending and could also have been made from plane handsets) because it added an extra element of disaster and realism which would have bought (and I mean bought, rather than brought) public sympathy to avoid any future backlash about the future outcomes of the whole day.

Diana was murdered by Basil Brush because she was carrying Sooty's love-child and he was jealous. Surely everyone knows that.

Completely bamboozling aircraft anorak stuff here about 2 planes - one of them Flight 93 - showing the same tail number (591UA) on 9/11. (The tailnumber came from Wikipedia )

The bit about the dummy drone passenger plane during the Cuban crisis at the start of Loose Change talks about 2 planes with identical numbering & livery.

QV, the WTC had been on high alert for weeks beforehand, but on about Sept 6 all the security - including explosives sniffer dogs - was stood down.

Well, thank god for Rubberduck's post at ten past one, and MB's scientific explanations. This is clearly bunkum.
I love the bit about 'why didn't the windows blow in?' as if we are talking about a semi in Croydon! This is the Pentagon. It is a bunker! The windows aren't supposed to shatter like a wineglass when the wind blows a bit hard.

I beleive Bush's administration is capable of just about anything, but this looks like nonsense to me.

cyril, I think the suggestion is that they weren't made by the passengers at all (because they weren't on the plane by then) but faked using voice imitation hardware (but I was a bit over-informed by that stage so I might have got that wrong!)

I think that bit is particularly nasty, actually. The people who got the calls certainly believed they were real, and I think they are the best judges. Unless, of course, they are all in it too

But if it was all orchestrated why go to the bother of voice simulation if they were going to get rid of the people involved anyway? It doesn't make sense.

To give out the story as early as possible that it was all being done by Arab terrorists?

But you're saying is that actually no civilians died in any plane crash that day then. What is your explanation for what happenend to them subsequently (except the guantanmo bay option suggested below!)?

I am with those who think this theory is a load of rubbish I am afraid. I just don't think there is anyone even the US government that could construct such an elaborate lie which included fooling or involving thousands upon thousands of people (including children). If they wanted to to do something, why go to all this trouble when something simpler involving less civilians (as co-conspiritors) would suffice.

If you want to believe then you will, think of all the conspiracies around Princess Diana's death. None of it would matter if only she wore a seat belt......

Unfortunately there is a lot of hate in this world, and people are capable of some very horrible acts.

havent watched the video but i As my EX SIL's firm were all wiped out in when the WTC collapsed and she could so easily have been there (she returned homne only the day before as she frequantly works in the states) i find the thought of this all being some government cover up quite sickening.

i just feel for every single family that has lost someone, particularly those brave firefighters that risked tehir lives to save others..how must their families feel seeing such theories

Loads of interesting information here, and not alot of conspiracy - they completely dismiss the Popular Mechanic debunking as mostly building straw men to knock down, but report that the 2 planes which crashed into the towers were the actual scheduled flights with passengers, also the Pentagon one, but that Flight 93 was shot down (lots of local eye witnesses to that effect).

Cancel "not a lot of conspiracy" - I had only really read the pages on the individual flights and not the rest - there is actually plenty of conspiracy on this site.

I may be some time....
