Not an easy one, my mind keeps changing. Right now I'm going for Life On Mars.

Anyone else?

Five Years and Suffragette City.

Starman because it takes me back to a Spanish bar I used to hang out in in the 80s. Perfect times.

Wild Is The Wind because if it hadn't been for that I'd never have met my best friend. When she went for her interview at the university we both ended up at, she walked through the bar and it was apparently raining like hell, one girl was sitting in a window seat looking out and WitW on the jukebox. She decided there and then to go to that uni.

Mindysgotswag · 15/01/2016 10:09

I was a big Bowie fan and don't think that he's actually produced a bad song.

My all time favourite just has to be Heroes though.Smile

Catpants123 · 15/01/2016 10:10

I've had Heroes and Changes in my head since I heard he died.

snowfallisbeautiful · 15/01/2016 10:14

Each day I have a different song in my mind. I kept listening to This is not America yesterday and Where are we Now but that's too sad to watch I think.

Blackstar - still can't go there and don't think I ever will. I've spent an awful lot of time this week thinking about death. I even stood on the drive last night looking at the stars wondering if he stardust and occupying most of the sky Blush.

Lottapianos · 15/01/2016 13:30

Same here snow - been thinking about death and mortality all week, even more after the sad death of Alan Rickman yesterday. I don't believe in an afterlife but I can't quite believe that all that talent and brilliance and loveliness has just vanished.

Anyway, favourite song....

Surprised and thrilled so hear so much love for 'Absolute Beginners', its one of my favourite love songs of all time. I could choose about 20 favourite songs but I'll go for 'Fill Your Heart'

OurBlanche · 15/01/2016 17:22

Mindy that just means your brain has blocked the joys of a certain Laughing Gnome!

Much as I love the man's music (and I really, really do) there is absolutely n excuse for this, even with a cute video

MrsFring · 15/01/2016 21:10

I've been thinking about him all week and remembering my very first gig in 1973; he was Aladin Sane and I was a 12 yr old besotted schoolgirl.

Each day brings a different song but today it's Scream Like a Baby from Scary Monsters. The lyrics have always reminded me of One a Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

RIP beautiful man.

Coldtoeswarmheart · 15/01/2016 21:18

I couldn't choose just one Sad, I've been listening to Bowie my whole life.

DS loves Jean Geanie, so that goes on repeat in the car quite often.

southeastastra · 15/01/2016 21:21

queen bitch and life on mars

hard to really pick though

southeastastra · 15/01/2016 21:22

i watched the doc five years last night, it's so great, so many unseen clips.

TheCheeseAlarm · 15/01/2016 21:56

So many from his whole career but, although I haven't thought about the song for years, I have been singing Buddha of Suburbia all week. It's stuck in my head and I keep on returning to it.

areyoubeingserviced · 15/01/2016 22:02

Let's Dance

BestIsWest · 15/01/2016 22:09

Just got my old 1970s singles out of the loft and given them to DS. He's over the moon.

Space Oddity
Heroes
Ashes to Ashes
Sound and Vision
So many more.

I can't choose, I've been listening to him since I was about 7 and I'm over 50 now. All of them bring back memories from different times in my life.

Lottapianos · 15/01/2016 22:10

MrsFring, he really was a beautiful man in every way Sad

MrsFring · 15/01/2016 22:36

He was. I was thinking today about how driven he was, one astonishing album after another with scarcely a year apart. It was as if the ideas were just bursting out of him (in the 70's at least).

Who does that these days, eh?

Noregretsatall · 15/01/2016 22:40

Moonage Daydream. Just. Love. It!

NewLife4Me · 15/01/2016 22:42

Wild is the wind and a close second has to be Suffragette city.

Ahhhhhhh Wam Bam Grin

Inkanta · 16/01/2016 21:17

Yes I find it hard to believe that all that bundle of creative energy and personality has just evaporated - gone! Been thinking a lot about him all week - and reading up on Alan Rickman. Life is sad.

So glad Wild is the Wind is so popular - love the album Station to Station. My favourite track is Stay.

Hedgehogparty · 16/01/2016 21:53

Always liked him, his best songs still seem so fresh, they don't date.
He was a class act.

Loved Heroes, also John I'm only Dancing, Station to Station

FinestGrundyTurkey · 16/01/2016 22:19

haven't RTFT but did anyone say Laughing Gnome?

EachandEveryone · 16/01/2016 22:25

How do you choose. I can't get The Prettiest Star out of my head but it's not one of my favourites. I love Young Americans and that whole album. Drive in Saturday is in my top three. I've been thinking a lot about him and boyfriends have had over the years. I don't think I have had any lovers that weren't into Bowie at all ages of my life,

OurBlanche · 17/01/2016 08:39

No, Finest. Bit someone did say he had never recorded a duff song, so I linked to it, to show that even a musical genius can have an off day Smile

I am up to 'Tonight' and spent the evening Dancing With the Big Boys Smile

ThisHorseCalledDonny · 17/01/2016 21:59

I never really rated him, but I had the singles collection that DH bought me when we were dating.

I put that on the iPod and have been playing it all weekend. I'm totally converted. He was an amazing artist. Probably going to go and buy Blackstar tbh. Can't believe I've been missing out all these years.

Favourite tracks: Under Pressure was an amazing track and I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the recording.

And Heroes, maybe but I keep changing my mind every time I listen to another track I think 'this one, definitely '
