9/11. Not interested in a debate here, but can we just have a quick show of hands?

I'm just interested in how many people around here are also highly skeptical of what we have been told about 9/11.

I'm really not after a debate (it would be long, involved, probably pointless and personally I have done this elsewhere), but I just wanted to see who is around.

It has very strong ongoing relevance for current world events.

Many thanks.

Totally agree Under there are aspects of it that are trolling at its worst.

Crisis Actors can be genuine and are used for drills such as the London terror plot exercise earlier this year. But the conspiracy websites version of crisis acting is vile.

CultureSucksDownWords · 13/10/2015 15:12

I actually now feel a bit sick, as I stupidly searched about the Boston marathon "crisis actors", and have seen the most appalling images of traumatized people with horrific injuries. If you can look at those and tell yourself that those people are actors, then I'm sorry but you are seriously deluded and utterly stupid.

DadOnIce · 13/10/2015 15:58

The government might decide we needed "crisis actors" if we lived in some form of uber-controlled dystopia where there had to be a disaster engineered every so often - to keep the populace in line by making them fear and hate a certain section of the population, or be too afraid to venture out on public transport for a while, or lose sight of stuff like mis-management of the economy.

Sadly, we live in a real world where lunatics with bombs and guns do this job efficiently enough anyway, so fakery isn't needed.

GruntledOne · 13/10/2015 18:14

I don't believe in any conspiracy beyond the conspiracy by terrorists to hijack planes and fly them into buildings.

mimishimmi · 13/10/2015 23:40

PNAC's "Rebuilding America's Defenses" published in September 2000, Samuel Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations" and the destruction of Europe/western countries with massive world wars over past century. All trust was lost.

Yeah, being poor, less educated and generally anxious does have a lot to do with it mainly because our families were often the targets of the drama previously. It's pretty distressing when some smug idiot says 'it's because you are poor and underachieving' and you know full well it was their ancestors that made yours that way. There are many high achievers who have done terrible things. It doesn't make it alright.

HeighHoghItsBacktoWorkIGo · 14/10/2015 07:57

Even if all that is true mimishimmi, it still doesn't mean that conspiracy theories are true.

LaurieJuspeczyk · 15/10/2015 16:24

The only 'conspiracy' I could potentially believe is that the US intelligence agencies had some prior knowledge that something was likely to happen, maybe even a plane being flown into a building, and covered it up afterwards because it would have looked bad that they hadn't told the public. I don't believe the buildings were brought down by anything other than jets being flown into them, and I'm happy to debate any scientific points from people who believe otherwise (I hardly know anything about the politics so don't want to get into that).

mrstweefromtweesville · 15/10/2015 16:40

No, I don't think we have been lied to. I think the conspiracy theorists have their own reasons for wanting to disguise the truth.

But we are never told the whole truth about anything. We always need to watch, listen and assess for ourselves.

BetLynchsBeehive · 15/10/2015 16:56

The engineers I've spoken to have debunked that side of the "conspiracy".

Governments are not in control of much really, so nothing in my own experience leads me to think they have the capability to orchestrate this. I don't think I've heard a coherent and plausible explanation of why they'd do it anyway.

HTH OP.

BetLynchsBeehive · 15/10/2015 17:03

I don't think I'm a particularly gullible person and I tend not to take journalism as gospel as every time I know something about what's being reported something isn't quite correct! That's precisely because there is no all knowing force behind the MSM, just fallible individuals - Reuters do better than most though.

VulcanWoman · 15/10/2015 17:04

The so called conspiracy is that there's people above the Governments.

OurBlanche · 15/10/2015 17:05

Are those people green, reptilian, not oxygen breathers, I wonder?

Smile
VulcanWoman · 15/10/2015 17:20

What ever you want them to be so you can sleep well at night.

BetLynchsBeehive · 15/10/2015 17:25

My theory of random incompetence and no overall control does leave me with insomnia at times!

batshitlady · 15/10/2015 17:46

There are a few big unanswered questions...... That much can't be denied.

VulcanWoman · 15/10/2015 17:48

I Agree to both.

CultureSucksDownWords · 15/10/2015 17:49

What are they batshitlady?

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 15/10/2015 17:50

It can be fairly easily denied if you haven't even articulated the questions I think you'll find.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 15/10/2015 17:53

Random aside but I love it when we are on threads together Culture. The user names together please me.Grin

VulcanWoman · 15/10/2015 18:01

The best thing to do is research it yourselves. I must admit I need to do a lot more.
One thing I would say, is there's a few big companies/families that have a lot of wealth and power over the things we consume, that just doesn't sit well with me. They keep on buying up the smaller companies and have the monopoly over things, big buying power, big influence.

CultureSucksDownWords · 15/10/2015 18:13

batshitlady · 15/10/2015 18:23

The Pentagon, the Gov't's refusal to release surveillance footage. The plane crash in Pennsylvania, WTC 7, the prior knowledge of the government, Bushes connection to the Bin Ladens. In history there has never been a building collapse in such a manor until 9/11 and it happened 3 times in a row.

I'm not saying I agree it was an inside job, I just don't know.

But when one considers the fact that Al Queada were trained by the CIA and funded by the Saudis. It's hardly surprising there is such deep suspicion.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 15/10/2015 18:29

Maybe we are all in The Matrix and none of this is real.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 15/10/2015 18:32

Is that meant to be a serious list.Hmm

MajesticWhine · 15/10/2015 18:33

Red pill or blue pill anyone?
