Well no loss there.

I think the important thing, when talking about human decency, is to actually have some.

Very well put.

Who compared people on this thread to child abusers and murderers, PyjamasLlamas?

Report
Finola1step · 14/07/2015 19:16

Op What she did was depraved and despicable. She was sentenced accordingly.

I have no feelings about her death.

My feelings are reserved for Daniel and his siblings.

But I do appreciate that others have very strong feelings about this case and may express those feelings on parenting forums such as Mumsnet. Such feelings and views may well range from the two extremes. All are valid.

Redemption? No. Not redemption. Not for her.

That's not for you or anyone else on here to decide.

Just goes to show how its not just the murderers and abusers that are so despicable.

What exactly has been said on this thread that is so 'despicable' that it can be compared to murder and abuse?

I'm with pyjamas - the hysteria on this thread is not coming from the likes of the OP.

Fuck there are some strange people around. Who the fuck posts LOL upon hearing of a death? Hmm

I'll be thinking of the family she has left behind today. Regardless of who she is or what she did, there will be people hurting right now.

Nobody compared abusers and murderers to people on this thread.
I commented that they weren't the only despicable people in the world going on this thread.
Not a comparison as such, but pretty dispicable to lol at a death. Pretty sick too.

Agree that it is ridiculous to say posters who are glad she's dead are more despicable than the woman herself. For goodness' sake get some perspective. I'm fairly shocked that people don't know who Daniel Pelka was, but that, too, is minor compared to what she did.

Except that nobody has said that.

Morethanpotatoprints did say that. Or are equably despicable.

Report
GeorgeYeatsAutomaticWriter · 14/07/2015 19:31

No she didn't. Perhaps you need to re-read what she actually wrote.

MaggieJoyBlunt · 14/07/2015 19:34

Hold on Aoife actually posted "Lol" and it's Morethan who gets the kicking? Hmm

And no, she didn't say the grave-dancing posters were more despicable than murderers.

Interesting day for the spreadsheet keepers.

Report
TendonQueen · 14/07/2015 19:34

Yes, she did. Perhaps you should reread it yourself?

I think its fairly clear that those people posting 'good' or 'can't say I'm fussed' or whatever were merely conveying the feeling that when they heard of her death, they were not sad or upset in the way that one normally would be at that sort of news.

Not that they had been sticking pins in an effigy for the last few months and that they will hunt down the site of her grave and make a champagne toast whilst dancing on it.

However, this is Mumsnet, where one must never let the blatantly obvious get in the way of climbing up on that high horse.

I have no compassion for her whatsoever, but yes, there is a need for human decency, well said.

Chances are her remaining DC won't see these comments, but wouldn't people rather they didn't have to chance upon them in the future, just in case? I would think they're going to suffer more than enough with trying to deal with the fact that she was their Mother as it is, without needing these sorts of reminders.

I agree this is a revolting thread.
Just goes to show how its not just the murderers and abusers that are so despicable.
I'm not sure why I'm shocked really

I'm pretty sure that's comparing posters that have said they don't give a shit that this cunt is dead to murderes and abusers.

Report
GeorgeYeatsAutomaticWriter · 14/07/2015 19:37

She wrote 'its not just the murderers and abusers that are so despicable' and
'they are not the only despicable ones'.

No comment on 'as despicable' or 'more despicable'. Posters are just reading what they want to read.

Report
TendonQueen · 14/07/2015 19:38

Exactly Stannis. Bit disturbing how much enjoyment people get out of that, and out of quantifying the particular level of despicableness they can tell other posters off for.

Re. relatives finding the thread; The killer's name hasn't been mentioned, but Daniel's has, so it doesn't take much imagination to think who could stumble across this without wanting to and the pain it could awaken.

Wow - this thread is even worse than the other thread on the same topic - same start time, some repeat posters...

More than said:

Just goes to show how its not just the murderers and abusers that are so despicable.

So even if she wasn't saying that certain posters on this thread are entirely equally despicable to 'murderers and abusers', she was certainly making some sort of comparison and therefore putting them in the same ball park.

Which I think is rather a bit of a fucking insult to those who have suffered at the hands of murderers and abusers to be honest.

I am neither happy or sad that the woman is dead, she did some despicable things. I'm sad that something happened to her in the past that normalised this type of behaviour.
I feel very sorry for her surviving children.

Except that TendonQueen then claimed she said posters on this thread were more despicable than the woman in question. Not the case.

Well some posters sound as though they would like to be sticking pins in effigies, or burning them (or her), not to mention lol-ing and laughing gleefully. It's a bit like the crowd at a hanging, isn't it?

Totally agree, Maryz.
