...because, according to the news, her seperated parents can't give her the care that she needs. It so sad, I want to cry. Poor, poor Charlotte, poor, poor parents.

What money? If she didn't have the children living with her she wouldn't get any money. This thread gets more eugenic by the moment. How about forced sterilisation?

Kitty, can i ask do you think these people have the same level head that you have or are they just doing it for the hell of it.

I am not attacking what you have said i am just interested in your view

Coolmama · 17/10/2006 16:30

I thought long and hard before this post - am still not sure that it is the right thing, but, having read the entire thread, I have a couple of questions?

1st - where is the mother in all of this? - we are all mothers but there has been no mention of her? why?
I read the article today in which she said "5 miles is too far" and was stunned into silence ( which, for me, is no mean feat!)

2 - I do agree with some of the comments that kitty has made and was a bit shocked at how badly she was treated - Kitty, you have voiced your arguments (right or wrong) in a calm and innoffensive way which not a lot of posters can claim, so I say good job for keeping your "cool hat" on!

I think this is a really complex issue which deals with money, state care , the foster system, parents unwilling(?) to shoulder their responsibilities and the right to life (does quality count?) and I do think that it is wrong to pick one of thise issues only and make an argument of it - this situation does not exist in a vacumn and at the heart of it all is a little girl who is about to spend her 3rd birthday in hospital with no one else there -
All the mothers here have said they would fight to the death for their children. My last question is why is no one fighting for Charlotte?

GreenSepticStumps · 17/10/2006 16:32

HMo2, you don't know anything about her. There could be many reasons why her youngest child is in foster care. She may be seriously ill with depression, it wouldn't be surprising. Or one of a multitude of explanations - we just don't know.

Sorrell, my money pays for the chikdren that she can't look after but keeps on having anyway, that's what money.

Rust do you mean the people that won't use contraception? If you do then I would say that don't think. Anyone that repeatedly has kids that they can't look after is either, stupid, selifh, ignorant or all of these things. it is an absolute disgrace.

You're right HMo2, you are free to choose to voice an opinion on the basis of very little evidence - but it just makes you sound vindictive IMO.

Thankyou coolmama, although having read the evening standard article i am now bl**dy fuming. I've speny the last 2 days defending my position, being verbally spat at andhave been asked how i can make such awful assumption. i had a good inkling that Mr Wyatt was like that. Had no proof though, just a strong feeling. Now, now the woman won't even VISIT Charlotte

GreenSepticStumps · 17/10/2006 16:41

HMo2, I've often wondered wht sort of person buys tabloids and magazines with titles like "My brother stole my mum's boyfriend!!!!".

I know now.

I'm not going to say, stop posting, as that is always inflammatory. But does anyone either posting or reading on this think that this thread is achieving anything but upsetting people?

Might it be best to let this drop, now? I think we all know which side we're on by now, don't we?

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 17/10/2006 16:55

LOL Dino

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 17/10/2006 16:55

Oh Caligula, are you laughing at my naivete in posting this?

HuwEdwards · 17/10/2006 16:57

In Thesaurus across the land, fo an explanation under the entries:-

'Agree to Disagree'

'Time to call it a day'

'Banging one's head against a brickwall'

'Locking horns'

should be printed this thread.

niceglasses · 17/10/2006 16:58

Wow I find the 'will these pple ever learn' line by Hof2 bit harsh to be honest.

I'd say Mrs Wyatt has learnt a lot. Shes learnt a lot about suffering and striving and wanting to find some peace for herself. It is a shame her child has been taken into care, but what do we know about the circumstances really? I wouldn't trust most of the press further than I could spit and more fool you if you do.

I think we are on very dodgy ground when you start prescribing exactly what kind of pple and under what circumstances pple can. Only those with stable relationships, enough money and no serious problems can go on to have more children then? An awful lot of pple wouldn't be here.

niceglasses · 17/10/2006 17:00

aherm, 'can have children' that should be.

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 17/10/2006 17:01

No, at your optimism!

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 17:03

That's very nice of you niceglasses. from the information I have about how this woman has behaved, and it just gets better and better, I think she has behaved atrociously, quite, quite shocking, the whole story. Time for me to bow out.
