The poor people in the 'plane, would they have suffered?

The news is so shocking, have avoided the tv news for days but read the papers today. Combined with the terrible images of injured children in Gaza it is all so upsetting. I can't help but think about the passengers in the downed airoplane, would they have been alive when they hit the ground? Or would they have passed out from lack of oxygen before then? I just hope that they knew nothing and were killed instantly but I realise that is probably unlikely. Sad.

Well beertricks if you try are fine with and understand that some people dont wish to engage on thread then could you reconsider the accusations of being a liar when someone says they have had PM's and suggesting the PMers are doing so out of fear?

DiaDuit · 24/07/2014 16:08

truly not try

Deverethemuzzler · 24/07/2014 16:08

Not the first time I have seen a bereaved parent told to stfu about their dead child and it won't be the last.

Turn it round as much as you like, try and make out it is 'them' trying to shut 'you' down.

But there is nothing guaranteed to shut someone up as quick as telling them they are using their dead child.

Nice one.

As nice as gossiping about what happened in the last minutes of a child life or speculating on how much a stranger has suffered.

Someone comes along and points out that it may be distasteful and people get defensive. I get that, but at least own it for what it is.

You are having a chin wag about the dying moments of a plane full of strangers on an open forum.

What Phantom says - she's spot on!!

DiaDuit · 24/07/2014 16:13

Tbf expat didnt suggest anything. She said what she thought of the people posting.

DiaDuit · 24/07/2014 16:15

Yes i saw your post. (Is that an apology to phantom btw?) i meant for future threads.

0dd · 24/07/2014 16:15

Agree with Phantoms posts.

Wouldn't normally post just to say that but think this time I should post rather than lurk as IMO she's getting treated unfairly.

GoshAnneGorilla · 24/07/2014 16:16

Beer - so you have more decorum and decency than the Dutch Foreign Minister then?

Animation · 24/07/2014 16:18

'Far too many threads on are completely derailed and then deleted as bunfights because people come on them, not to disagree, but to disagree that the discussion should even occur. ou're right there'

Yes absolutely - and any chance of a rich discussion is completely thwarted time and time again.

Beer - that's your twist. This thread is not about that at all.

It's not gossip. How is it gossip?

Because we aren't directly involved? People talk about events they aren't directly involved in all the time?

Because serious subjects aren't suitable for MN?

The sentiment behind this thread was a hope that death came quickly and that they didn't suffer too much. Nothing more sinister than that.

And to come on a thread like this to malign, condemn and guilt trip posters is doing much more than expressing an opinion.

GoshAnneGorilla · 24/07/2014 16:39

Lots of distressing news events are discussed in detail on MN. All of which are open to any relatives or loved ones. Where do you draw the line as to which of those should be discussed?

GoshAnneGorilla · 24/07/2014 16:40

Also: What Stroke said.

Deverethemuzzler · 24/07/2014 16:40

Why discuss them at all?
What happened to keeping your mouth shut and counting your blessings?
