Oscar Pistorius Trial Part 6

Roussette · 03/05/2014 17:18

here is Part 5 but we are ready (nearly) for a new one.

OP posts:

No wonder the poor man is silent - if he as much as makes a squeek his employer might shoot first, ask questions later.

OP has nothing to lose from threatening Kim. His goose is well and truly cooked already.
He is not a man to be crossed and he likes people to know it and to hell with the consequenses!

I know! Which makes me question why op was so quick to jump to intruder when he knows full well that someone has access to his house.

RonaldMcDonald · 06/05/2014 14:24

re Kim Myers

maybe OP was curious?

perhaps he isn't sleeping and was wondering how she was getting through the trial and sleeping
v stressful for both

perhaps her feelings for him after the shooting and shock that he spoke to her made it seem like a threat

Roussette · 06/05/2014 14:25

I feel sorry for the employee Frank - I just hope he gains employment OK after this. I'm reading a book about the Deep South of US at the moment, it reminds me of that.

Why would one of RS's have to be sorry (in OP's eyes) ? I can understand if she was saying it to OP but not the other way round.

OP posts:
Roussette · 06/05/2014 14:26

*one of RS's friends, i meant to say

No Vermeulen indicated by demonstration that the bullet hole could have fragmented if;

a) a bat was used to break the door further,
b) bat used to lever the panel out,
or
c) the panel was already broken enough to have been pulled out by hand.

Not alternate bat/gun strikes.

RonaldMcDonald · 06/05/2014 14:27

as ever I'm confused btw

woken by a bang unless it happens again or is prolonged otherwise you just guestimate??
heard high pitched crying, assumed a guard had been shot
therefore clearly knew it was a man crying

YNK · 06/05/2014 14:35

The people who heard a woman scream did so before the last bang.
After that only a man was heard, crying, wailing or howling.
OP claims he shouted help, help, help before he bashed in the door with a bat after shooting 4 times into the toilet.

None of the screaming he claims to have done before making any bang sounds was heard by anyone.

RonaldMcDonald · 06/05/2014 14:36

Maybe this chat to Ms Myers is the beginning of OP ramping up to do an Edward Norton from Primal Fear and get off

StackALee · 06/05/2014 14:36

ha ha

like a supposedly friendly 'I wonder how you can sleep at night?'

lol

I have sat back and read posts for days without commenting but I have to wonder why most of you continue following the trial. It seems the general consensus had decided Oscar Pistorius was guilty before the trial started. The Blog appears to be a place where most get satisfaction ripping a person apart. Justice for Reeva seems to be the reason given but the level of disdain for Oscar Pistorius seems to show a much deeper reason. I have read some very nasty posts flung among the posters on this thread that are far scarier than the exchanges between RS and OP but that seems to be perfectly acceptable. I never knew before this trial there were so many infallible people in this world. It seems Oscar Pistorius is incapable of doing anything right. If he cries he cries for himself. If he doesn't cry he is cold hearted. If he shows extreme emotion it is acting. If he doens't say he loves Reeva in a text he doesn't care. If he did say he loved her in a text he would be considered obsessive. If he was tired that night and they didn't have sex that is a clear sign he wasn't that in to her. If they had sex that night he would have raped her. If he wasn't sending X rated text messages to her he is abnormal. If he had been sending her X rated text messages he would be a pervert. If he apologizes to the Steencamp family he is selfish, insulting and making a specticle. If he doesn't apologize he is arroganct and disrespectful. If he tries to write them a letter he is taking the easy way out. If he tires to call them he is not respecting their time to grieve. If he tried to apologize right after the incident he is trying to make himself look better. If he comes home from a long day and goes up stairs to clean up while Reeva is fixing dinner he is selfish and unappreciative. If he didn't have a gift wrapped and waiting for Reeva on Feb 13 he is a disrespecful boyfriend. If he bought her a bracelet earlier in the year from a designer she liked he is more than likely lying and even if he did is still disrespectful. If he has a bad day or under a lot of pressure and snaps or lashes out at his girl friend he is controlling, abusive, possessive, hot tempered and capable of murder. If his sister cries in court she is accused of over reacting and showing dispresct to the Steencamp family. If she tries to speak to Mrs Steencamp she is trying to look good in court and pretend to show she cares aboout what they are going through. If the Pistorius family shows emotion and that they are standing by Oscar and still love him regargless of what happened they are off balance and unsettled. The people that support his are lunatics and divorced from reality. It matters not that the man is a double amputee from below the knee. He was an accomplished track athelete so he therefore should be treated like any other person with complete use of both legs off the track. He is not entitled to a defense. He doesn't know how to choose a guard dog. He is not allowed to feel fear. Everyone but him tells the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He is expected to remember every single moment that happened that night. He lies every time he opens his mouth. If he wears a black suit in court he is trying to show he is mourning. If his friends or neighbours testify on his behalf they are lying, scripted, acting and generally misunderstood about what they saw and heard. If Aimee Pistorius removed RS purse from the house she is surely capable of stealing a watch, rummaging through the purse and possibly stealing a diary (really), or removing some incredible piece of evidence that would surely incriminate her brother. It would be out of the question to think she may have wanted to prevent it from being ravaged by the "trusting police force". I could go on but I think I have made my point. I myself am not perfect so am willing to hear the trial out, try to take the evidence presented in court and see how they both stack up, put myself in his shoes and imagine how it might be possible to make a horrible mistake that resulted in a tragic accident. And wonder what it would feel like to have a majority of the world turn on me based on very flimsy, circumstantial evidence. I am not a parent but am old enough to be Oscar's mother and my heart goes out to him. Regardless of whether it was an accident or on purpose and what the judge decides he took the life of Reeva and nothing is going to change that and Oscar Pistorius will be punished by that fact and imprisoned by the memories of that night for the rest of his life.

BookabooSue · 06/05/2014 14:41

Ronald I also found it interesting that the next door neighbours knew it was a man crying even though it was high-pitched.

AnyaKnowIt · 06/05/2014 14:46

Of course he is guilty, he shot her!

StackALee · 06/05/2014 14:48

upnorthfelinefan

finding it hard to read your post without paragraphs but there are very many people here who believe (based on evidence or otherwise) that OP is not guilty of murder, that you have missed those people may not be unusual given the quantity of posts and threads on this subject.

Very many people here are taking the evidence as it comes, discussing it as it progresses and then forming an opinion based upon the evidence so far

Many people have changed their minds day by day.

Could it be that, because you are clearly looking at it from an 'he is innocent' perspective, you are not entirely impartial just like many of us?

We all have our own prejudices but one thing that can be said for this thread is that we have all had those challenged at some point.

It's probably a good thing that you are not the judge and that I am not the judge, because we both reach conclusions before the whole of the testimony is heard. Thankfully his case is going through the proper legal system. Don't you think?

Hillwalker · 06/05/2014 14:48

Wow, up north, do you feel better now? Maybe Oscar will be imprisoned by memories for the rest of his life but Reeva does not have the rest of her life.

If you can imagine being Oscar's parent, what about putting yourself in the Steenkamps' shoes? They had to bury their child.

YNK · 06/05/2014 14:50

Can I respectfully suggest some paragraphs might be useful, upnorth?

stooshe · 06/05/2014 14:50

UpNorthFelineFan.
How are the Pistorius family holding up in their time of distress? Please pass my condolences on to them for their pain.
Also, please pass my condolences onto Oscar.
There, that better?

AnyaKnowIt · 06/05/2014 14:51

Oh poor Oscar, poor soul, not his fault guns go off magically in his hands...

LouiseBrooks · 06/05/2014 14:53

"Lawyer Ian Levitt: "My client Kim Myers was approached by Oscar #Pistorius in court today and, in a very sinister tone, was asked: "

But why would OP say that to Kim anyway ? It would suggest that he believes she has given false evidence etc when she's not even testified and I have no idea if she even gave a satement.

It would make more sense for her to say it to him.

I wonder what a "sinister tone" sounds like? All very odd.

OneStepCloser · 06/05/2014 14:53

Sorry upnorth but your post comes over very strange, many people on here have not decided what they think (admittedly I have, he killed Reeva) and the majority of posts on here are respectful, but it's natural that people are discussing this case, it is high profile and awful as it is to say it very interesting.

Hardly flimsy evidence though, sorry but that is almost laughable, he killed someone 100% fact.

LouiseBrooks · 06/05/2014 14:54

"Maybe this chat to Ms Myers is the beginning of OP ramping up to do an Edward Norton from Primal Fear and get off"

Great movie!"

OneStepCloser · 06/05/2014 14:54

I find the whole approaching Kim very odd, and unbelievable really.

AnyaKnowIt · 06/05/2014 14:55

news.sky.com/

There is a video on the with Alex Crawford at 2.31 which expains what happened

crazybutterflylady · 06/05/2014 14:56

I have also read these threads since the trial began, UpNorth, without commenting at all - and I have to say I totally disagree with you.

I think the vast majority of contributions to the thread are unbiased, rational opinions or dissection of evidence direct from the court. It has been said a lot of times how fair and 'grown up' the discussion is given the huge differing opinions of the posters.

A lot of the things you accuse in your post might be found if you were looking for them but are merely the results of personal opinion and entirely what one would expect on a thread containing so many posters with different beliefs/opinions/ideas about the same event.

I can't help but think you are reading a different thread?!

AnyaKnowIt · 06/05/2014 14:57

The sound isn't very good tho
