WhoDars absolutely true. And there is no way anyone would know.

I suppose he doesn't want to be suddenly accused of being a geologist.

Haha Grin

I'm finding this guy's accent/monotone difficult to listen to.

Roussette · 08/05/2014 12:03

and they adjourn! (dammit, I have just got a live feed that works)

Thanks for that stack.

The bit that I find odd in the Stipp's evidence is where he says "I thought whoever had shot the first time was starting to shoot again"

So he is not distinguishing between bat and shot sounds and therefore could easily have got them mixed up in terms of order. Have I missed something here?

LookingThroughTheFog · 08/05/2014 12:10

Stack, you're a superstar.

BeCool · 08/05/2014 12:12

I haven't watched anything all week and my imac at home is broken. And now I have an entire thread to catch up on and it looks like another one starting v soon!

Thank goodness for you good peeps!

LookingThroughTheFog · 08/05/2014 12:12

Have I missed something here?

No, you haven't. He is the only witness who lists two sets of bangs (please correct if I'm mistaken), and he does not differentiate between which was the gun and which was the bat.

LookingThroughTheFog · 08/05/2014 12:13

Hello, BeCool! I've missed you! (I thought you'd been scared away by recess shenanigans.)

LouiseBrooks · 08/05/2014 12:25

Stack thanks. This must be taking you ages.

Hillwalker · 08/05/2014 12:27

Has watching this trial made you more or less in favour of the jury system?

LouiseBrooks · 08/05/2014 12:31

"Has watching this trial made you more or less in favour of the jury system"

I've had doubts about our jury system for some time and thought it needed to be changed but of course it's not PC to do so. I think the SA system, although originally I was horrified, is actually a very good idea.

Roussette · 08/05/2014 12:32

Hill From what I've seen of Judge Masipa, I am favouring this system. Having heard of a couple of friends who have attended jury service and hearing how some of the jurors behaved (not taking it seriously, one was dismissed because of being on her mobile), having 12 jurors to me is not always the way to go necessarily.

OK so from reading up thread here is a massive inconsistency - OP has testified the toilet door handle never moved. And apparently the lights at this stage were all off and it was 'pitch dark'.

So how could he see the door handle move or not?
Clearly there was a light source at this point. Or he is lying about seeing the door handle not move.

Hillwalker · 08/05/2014 12:34

I am now more in favour of the SA system as far as getting justice is concerned. But if I was the defendant, I would prefer to have a jury.

OneStepCloser · 08/05/2014 12:38

No, I like this judge (from as much as I have seen of her) but I still favour the jury system, I still strongly believe it offers a much better outcome for a fair trial.

LookingThroughTheFog · 08/05/2014 12:39

Judge with advisers for me too.

LookingThroughTheFog · 08/05/2014 12:40

BeCool, I asked about that, and apparently there is more ambient light in the bathroom than the bedroom, but at the moment, the levels of both are subjective. I don't think any have been taken on a light reader.

Saker · 08/05/2014 12:53

I can't keep up with this thread so am only skim reading, but I have kept coming across stuff about whether there was an argument and also whether OP would argue without his prosthetics on.

I just want to say that not all arguments are conducted at top volume, standing up and throwing things. I think OP's texts are suggestive of someone who was possessive and controlling and it sounds as if his behaviour could be emotionally abusive. (this is my opinion - I know there were loving texts, but then there would be - that would be a common feature of abusive relationships especially at an early stage.)

I know of one person, who was extremely controlling with his wife (they are now divorced) and he used to bully her and go on at her verbally for hours - one time even on a car journey with the kids in the back. But he managed to do this in a low voice without the children being aware. We have stayed in the same house with this couple and she has told me since that they were up until 3am arguing but we didn't hear anything.

So this is speculation but I can quite feasibly imagine a scenario where they were lying in or on the bed talking (in which case he might well not have had his prosthetics on for comfort), which turned into an argument because of something he didn't like about her lifestyle, friends etc and this led to her having enough and jumping up and saying she was leaving. It's even possible she stormed out to the bathroom to avoid continuing the argument.

BeCool · 08/05/2014 12:54

thanks Looking - like others here all these events allegedly happening in the pitch dark has bothered me from day 1. Clearly OP needs to say that it was pitch dark hence he did not see Reeva. This is the piece of the puzzle I struggle with the most.

AmIthatSpringy · 08/05/2014 14:06

So has Wolamarans been giving evidence ?

Contrary to the post from the resident speculator Smile
