To continue our respectful, open, interesting discussion.

OP posts:

Different sounds do carry differently.
The speed that sounds carry is also affected by the materials they have to travel through so if two sounds are coming from different sources, and passing through different materials then that impacts on the speed they are carried too.

Majestic - someone on that team is reading this thread.

ballsballsballs · 14/04/2014 12:24

Thanks Book.

Roussette · 14/04/2014 12:25

Gladitsjustnotme that's an interesting thought. Maybe OP has gone against his legal teams advice and thinking he could get off, as opposed to admitting some of the charges - if so, they can't help him at this stage can they

SauceForTheGander · 14/04/2014 12:25

The judge is seeing counsel in her chambers.

Nerf · 14/04/2014 12:26

They are probably arguing that it can't go on like this.

OneStepCloser · 14/04/2014 12:26

Sauce I was wondering what she wants to see them about.

FreeLikeABird · 14/04/2014 12:26

Why would the judge be seeing them? Anyone have any thoughts.

Off to do some baking with my dd now.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 14/04/2014 12:28

So, we're going to have the pantomime of recordings of OP screaming 'like a woman' as part of the defence. Very interesting question by Nel - why didn't they play this to the witnesses and ask 'is this what you heard?'

Roux is sitting quietly because he thinks he can pull it out of the bag still, I think. He's going to try to provide enough 'doubt' on each of the prosecutions points - it's the prosecution that has to 'prove' premeditated murder. OP is going to be in the dock for a while longer I think.

AnyaKnowIt · 14/04/2014 12:28

Wasn't there a infection earlier on and the judge said leave it until lunch?

AnyaKnowIt · 14/04/2014 12:29

*objectiob

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 12:45

One of the journalists at the court has tweeted that OP was with his psychiatrist.

I do hope that this isn't the point where he says he can't go on any longer and claims he's unfit...

FreeLikeABird · 14/04/2014 12:46

The objection was by Mr Roux, the judge has asked to see Mr Nel.

The objection was about the door slamming, OP said he had already mentioned it, Nel said he hadn't, Mr Roux was then told by his team behind him OP had in fact mentioned it, the judge said they could watch it back during lunch break.

ExcuseTypos · 14/04/2014 12:49

Advent been able to watch bu that've cop aught up on twitter. I'm still open minded until we here all the defence evidence.

I do wonder how many times Nel can ask the same question? He's asked about some things 4 times. He could carry on for weeks like that!

YNK · 14/04/2014 12:50

Si is this the adjournment for lunch?

ExcuseTypos · 14/04/2014 12:50

Sorry about typos!

FreeLikeABird · 14/04/2014 12:54

Yes YNK back at 1pm our time, 2pm there time.

FreeLikeABird · 14/04/2014 12:57

Excuse I agree with you, I think Nel is using it as a tactic to see if OP is going to say the same thing or slip up. However 4 times is extreme, he has been over and over most of this now.

I'm still on the fence, I want to hear till the end first.

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 12:59

Is there anything else left to cover, that hasn't already been done?

Has Nel asked why OP thinks RS had her phone with her?

And there's the issue of OPs 'locked' phone which he supposedly cannot access as he has forgotten the password.

Anything else left?

YNK · 14/04/2014 13:00

Thanks Free.

voiceofgodot · 14/04/2014 13:01

It's painful to watch but I think necessary. And clever. He is going through events with a sort of linear progression, but then pops back and forward to go over things in an out-of-time sequence which would be next to impossible to keep up with if you were lying.

I tend to think he didn't know it was Reeva in there. I can't believe, for one thing, that they would have argued for what would have been several hours going right up to 3am. They don't strike me as late night types. If this had all happened at 11/12pm it would make more sense. I think he is emotional because he knows that what really happened IS incredibly far-fetched and he knows how close this is all going to be.

Reserving the right to continue to sit on the fence however... Wink

AmIthatSpringy · 14/04/2014 13:01

The phone has been accessed. I thought they had found nothing on it ?

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:03

Voiceof you're a kinder person than I. I think I'm very cynical about most things and usually assume the worst.

Blimey Nel just launches straight back in there at full force.

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:03

AmI I thought I'd read that there was another phone that was locked. I could well be wrong.

AmIthatSpringy · 14/04/2014 13:04

I thought that Moller had flown back with the unlocked phone just as the trial was starting.
