To continue our respectful, open, interesting discussion.

OP posts:

he's definitely not giving OP any relief is he? I can see he's stepping up the pressure.

he really is pushing the light issue.

RE the arguing, I don't think they argued all night. I think it's possible that an argument happened and escalated quickly.

AnyaKnowIt · 14/04/2014 13:06

I find it hard to believe that op didn't know what would happen if he shot through the door, he has admitted he is a gun enthusiast (sp?)

I think the "locked phone" was media hype. I'm sure it would have been mentioned by Nel numerous times if it were true.

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:09

Just read about the phone - they flew to Apple to get it unlocked.

Have they spoken about what was on the phone yet?

It was found on the bathroom floor.

RE arguing - they could have argued all night, or they could have started arguing after going to bed.

I certainly can keep an argument going all night if it's important..!

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:11

I think the "locked phone" was media hype. I'm sure it would have been mentioned by Nel numerous times if it were true. yeah that's what I wondered. Unless he's saving it up as his trump card - can they do that, or do they have to present all of their evidence at the beginning?

StackALee · 14/04/2014 13:12

could an explanation for the phones be that OP took the phones to the bathroom to call for help?

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:14

Yes Stack I think that's what he has said. Which is plausible.

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:16

Trying to get him to say he killed her, once more.

JeggingsHateMe · 14/04/2014 13:17

Name-changer here.

Imagine a very dark room, imagine today's mobile phones. Does anyone really believe that the light from a mobile would not be very obvious in a very dark room?

There would have been(even very soft) noises that would come with a person getting out if bed, padding across the room.

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:20

Did the judge just give away her thinking there?

She called Nel up on pushing the point of whether OP knew RS was standing behind the door. OP insisting he didn't know.

Judge stepped in to tell Nel he can't keep asking OP if he says he doesn't know. The she said (I'm paraphrasing) "We may infer, from the rest of the evidence, that he knows. But he says he doesn't know"

Does that mean that she infers it, and therefore believes it?

StackALee · 14/04/2014 13:21

I am someone who lives a very messy life and to get to my bathroom I have to walk over several items (Clothes, ipad, phone chargers etc) through the bedroom then through a spare room which often has a sleeping snoring husband in it, opening two doors and then going down some steps to the bathroom. I can do all this in darkness without waking him.

So I can see how it's possible that Reeva could have got to the bathroom without alerting OP but only if he had been asleep.

he was awake.

voiceofgodot · 14/04/2014 13:22

No, I don't believe that's what she meant.

StackALee · 14/04/2014 13:22

"Does that mean that she infers it, and therefore believes it?"

i am sure she mans once all the evidence is presented.
there's still time for that to be refuted by the Defence.

AnyaKnowIt · 14/04/2014 13:23

He is breaking down again

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:24

God if he is telling the truth, as he is now recanting it, the moment he realized he had just shot RS - how utterly terrifying and traumatic.

Nerf · 14/04/2014 13:24

I think she means that he's answered the question loads of times and you can believe him or not but stop asking.

GladitsnotJustMe · 14/04/2014 13:26

I think she means that he's answered the question loads of times and you can believe him or not but stop asking Ah ok, thanks

AnyaKnowIt · 14/04/2014 13:27

Is he now saying he doesn't remember where the duvet was, but accused the police of moving it last week?

JeggingsHateMe · 14/04/2014 13:31

That's exactly what I was trying to say Stack, he was awake! I truly do not believe he would of totally been unaware of movements from Reeva going to the loo. He was fully awake.

StackALee · 14/04/2014 13:32

I think that it's fair enough that he wouldn't have checked the bedroom door.

Nerf · 14/04/2014 13:32

I don't think the not checking the door is terrible - if he suddenly thinks shit I've shot Reeva he's going to check the bathroom isn't he.

member · 14/04/2014 13:35

The door was also on the way to the bathroom, not just the curtains!

Roussette · 14/04/2014 13:37

Hmmm - I don't know but I imagine if it were me, I wouldn't for one minute think the very worst, I would be running round the house calling for her and I would be going through the bedroom door looking for her. If I honestly thought there was an intruder and I fired at them, the very worst scenario seems just too awful and I would be looking for her in the house.

Bonnielangbird · 14/04/2014 13:38

If he was shouting for her though and got no answer, isn't that enough to make him suddenly realise who was likely to be behind the door?

Although then why check the curtains.
