That's a really interesting article. I had no idea about the RG Skype call where he admits to acting alone and says he doesn't know who RS is.

RG actually said AK wasn't there - he was surprised she'd been arrested.

I didn't read it all but it really gives you a good idea of her character. What her mother said about her was really interesting - she did seem a little like that, like someone who gets themselves into trouble by being too honest and trying to do the right thing.

RG has never admitted to acting alone in Meredith's murder. RG has never even admitted to killing Meredith.

But RG initially, before being steered, said AK wasn't there.

So who were the 'others'?

I think he "didn't know" in his original story - he went to the toilet and someone else came along and murdered her while he was listening to music in there..

Yes, his first story was that an unknown Italian man had killed her when he was in the bathroom.hes never been cross examined on the presence of RS and AK, it was in something he wrote and he's not obliged to be a witness in their trials.

So is the Guardian article misinterpreting the Skype call, when they say RG told a friend on Skype that he was alone at the time?

The article doesn't say that he claimed to be alone.

According to the Death In Perugia book, Guede said on the skype IM he was there when it happened, he tried to help her, he was in the bathroom when he heard her scream and amanda wasn't there. This was on 20 Nov and there was already lots of coverage about RS, AK and PL.

Sorry, you're right of course, he said that AK hadn't been there.

Wasn't a good move of hers to use the Royal We in that photograph. 'We are innocent' - and a photo of her alone is going to get RS's back up, unless of course he granted her permission to speak for him. Oh dear.
