It's going to last six months.

At least Andy turned up with a poppy on. Nice touch. Bit early though.

Thing is, Brooks and Coulson would have had no hesitation passing moral judgement in a mass circulation newspaper on any other public figure that had a seriously compromising 6-year workplace career.

What's sauce for the goose, etc.

Hypocrites.

PiratePanda · 31/10/2013 15:17

AFFAIR, not career. Stupid brain.

EeyoreIsh · 31/10/2013 15:18

There was a six year affair? tell me more!

TheGhostOfMargaretPast · 31/10/2013 15:21

Was she married to Grant Mitchell?

PiratePanda · 31/10/2013 15:22

Also in the Guardian, natch, but can't link. Top headline.

MrsScaryMontalbano · 31/10/2013 15:27

Grant Mitchell Halloween Grin

deepfriedsage · 31/10/2013 15:29

Maybe Grant found out and Phil came round to sort her? Seriously didn't she beat him up?

SauceForTheGander · 31/10/2013 15:31

Yes she did. And Andy Coulson married whilst having affair with RB.

Seems they lived the tabloids as well as writing them.

AnyaKnowIt · 31/10/2013 15:32

The affair started in 1998

limitedperiodonly · 31/10/2013 15:33

It's only day two and people haven't started giving evidence yet.

I really hope the prosecution hasn't peaked too soon and is saving some goodies like a Monday to Wednesday serialisation.

Perhaps they can ask the people in the dock how it's done.

OP posts:
MrsScaryMontalbano · 31/10/2013 15:34

How weird, these people having affairs and marrying other people at the same time? I clearly live a sheltered life here in London - out in the Cotswolds it all happenin' !

MrsScaryMontalbano · 31/10/2013 15:35

Perhaps they can ask the people in the dock how it's done. Halloween Grin
Sure perking up a dull Thursday!

deepfriedsage · 31/10/2013 15:39

I worked with someone who was the ow when the guy married, she had a lot of issues, including paternal abandonment as a child.

PiratePanda · 31/10/2013 15:39

Chipping Norton set make Bloomsbury set look like Victorian tea party....how embarrassed must David Cameron feel? Have I got it wrong - was it not Brooks who introduced Coulson to Cameron?

deepfriedsage · 31/10/2013 15:41

Sam Cam must be thinking back, wondering about the lol texts now.

limitedperiodonly · 31/10/2013 15:43

I'm a sheltered Londoner too mrsmontalbano.

BTW you trail it with a double page spread on the Saturday because that's your biggest sales day.

I assume you got into Montalbano btw?

I tried because it had all the ingredients to attract me except each episode was a bit too long so I left one halfway through and then my Sky+ packed up and I had to reboot and lost the lot.

I don't want to derail my own thread but I feel a gentle diversion might be safe because we've got a long time to go.

I can always whip it back into shape like the production editor I used to be Grin

OP posts:
EeyoreIsh · 31/10/2013 15:45

montalbano is definitely worth getting into, I love it!

MrsScaryMontalbano · 31/10/2013 15:46

(limited, I was his greatest fan when he was in the books, then loved sries 1 & 2, and recent TYM, sadly the last two episodes have left me a bit cold Grin)
as you were...

limitedperiodonly · 31/10/2013 15:54

Maybe it's because there's not much to do around Chipping Norton.

Though I imagine the trysting place was her flat in Chelsea Harbour - that seems one of the most soulless places on earth too.

Not much action going on at Andy's place either because of the inconvenient presence of Mrs Andy and the Mini-Andys.

I believe it was Dulwich Village. I couldn't afford his house but Dull-wich Village always seemed well-named to me. Apologies to residents. I'm sure it's lovely when you get to know it.

Of course, he's had to downsize since then to fund his defence, which is a policy championed by the Conservative part of the Coalition as an austerity measure.

So I'm sure he won't mind.

We're all in it together.

Oh, I forgot. I'm not Grin

OP posts:
PiratePanda · 31/10/2013 15:56

Poor Mrs Andy and mini-Andys :-(

limitedperiodonly · 31/10/2013 16:00

I think so, pirate but Gideon recommended him to Dave too after he unfortunately had to resign from the News of the World because he knew nothing about Clive Goodman's and Glen Mulcaire's phone-hacking.

What a fantastic idea. What could possibly go wrong?

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 31/10/2013 16:07

And though we might catsbum, six years is a serious commitment.

It's about as much as you could expect for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
