It seems sanity has prevailed. Let's hope there are no more delays and the site is cleared ASAP

They don't do bricks and mortar.

Oh no, not at all.
They're on the move year ronud in those quaint painted wagons aren't they, pulled along by horses.
Funny how they do wheels and petrol and patios and potplants and windows and central heating eh?

Can I just annouce that I don't do any of the following?

-living near pylons
-living near roads
-living near people
-living near drains
-cold weather
-damp
-early starts

"At appleby fair 2 years ago there were no Gypsy signs up",but Appleby fair is a gypsy fair,.
Also that what you said about Haven is wrong,I am married to a Romany gypay and we have been to Haven on several occasions. In fact in 25 years of married life I have never seen a sign that says "no gypsies".

moondog · 20/10/2011 16:37

There were no Gypsy signs up?

or

There were 'no Gypsy' signs up?

Fifi, could you link to your websites again detailing all of this monstrous ethnic cleansing?

niceguy2 · 20/10/2011 16:39

Well if I heaven forbid ever lose my job, I'm going to tell the council that my culture forbids me from living in anything smaller than a 4 bedroomed house.

Let's see how far that gets me eh?

OP posts:
glasnost · 20/10/2011 16:40

So you admit you get your info from the rightwing propagandistic press and then spout it as fact? You stated AS FACT that they had homes elsewhere. For which there is absolutely no evidence. Next time I see you've started a thread I'll know not to bother engaging.

And before all the sheeple posters rush back erudite responses such as "Hoorah" really don't bother for your self dignity.

glasnost · 20/10/2011 16:40

Niceguy that final post of mine on here is for, obviously.

Wow improvement, another correct name yay!

Haggyoldclothbatspus · 20/10/2011 16:53

Can we ask for some links to the places that you get your information Glasnost?

glasnost · 20/10/2011 16:59

moondog you are beneath contempt. Semi literate ravings you called Fifi25's thoughtful posts. And needanewfixation you really should stop fixating on me.

I'll leave you to it. You're embarrassing.

Haggyoldclothbatspus · 20/10/2011 17:01

That'll be a no then! Oh well. Its easy to give it out, but not so easy to take it I suppose!

needanewname · 20/10/2011 17:06

God I wish you would. Back to the name changing I see. Nothing useful to say then

Haggyoldclothbatspus · 20/10/2011 17:09

Still no answer Glasnost?

needanewname · 20/10/2011 17:33

She's flounced to another thread, is still doing the poor me routine there too

Fifis25StottieCakes · 20/10/2011 17:40

Moondog

moondog Thu 20-Oct-11 09:25:42

Peopel, a peopel, whats one of them????

moondog Thu 20-Oct-11 08:02:59
Fifi as someone else said, I'd love to just throw down a house wherever I'd like and have the local school accommodate my children and my wishes to come and go as I please.

They won't as it isn't beneficisal for society as a whole

beneficisal, beneficisal i think it beneficial, not sure

Befor you start pulling my post's to bits, have a look at your own. Theres a few more by the way

Just saying

Fifis25StottieCakes · 20/10/2011 17:42

niceguy2 · 20/10/2011 17:52

Moondog for PM!

Blueberties · 20/10/2011 18:03

I like you niceguy, no idea what you're doing on mn, but you're sound, never mind the politics.

TalkinPeace2 · 20/10/2011 18:09

I suspect the most interesting part of this whole saga will be that when the "travellers" (they are by their own account Irish not Roma) settle in a new town and start new benefits claims, they will come under the new scrutiny levels
and their girls starting in secondary schools will be covered by the much stricter rules about attendance (which were actually brought in to cope with Pakistani girls)
and their anarchist hangers on will have to kind a new wall to kick

Haggyoldclothbatspus · 20/10/2011 18:14

[hgrin]

It's ok supporing these 'worthy' causes , but what about the really worthy causes. What about people who live in cardboard boxes, people who are Innocent victims of conflict or those people who are starving to death in 3rd world countries? There are MANY more important things to protest about than travellers breaking the law.

Blueberties · 20/10/2011 18:18

well quite - and what's so irritating is that 22m could have been spent on much worthier causes

how many old people in Essex have gone without a carer, or parents of disabled children gone without respite, or classes being cancelled, or whatever, for this?

selfish

Blueberties · 20/10/2011 18:19

Selfish and aggressively self-entitled is the way I see it.

Fifi - you did get lumped in with glasnost rather and didn't deserve that.

LadyEvilEyes · 20/10/2011 18:19

Hopefully now, those that have been evicted, will find somewhere legally where they can stay and live their way of life, which they have every right to do.
After all this publicity, councils really have to find a solution to the lack of travellers sites.
Having said that, isn't it a shame that Gadaffi got killed today, as the anarchists have just lost all the oxygen of publicity they had, they're way down at the bottom of the headlines.
