Does anyone who live locally know what's going on? Have many of the travellers left? Will there be a horrible fight at 9am tomorrow?

Its now come out that the house that the man leading the residents protests lives in was illegally built and planning permission had to be applied for retrospectively, talk about double standards.

Glad to see you added your own 'embarrassed' emoticon laky because that's what you should be considering your remarks. Apologise if I thought I'd asked you more than once to clarify why and where I was being racist if I hadn't. I ask you again though.
You've added weight to my thoughts about the difference between you and me with the 'help' of your last post. I prefer to have a proper debate with someone rather than spouting abuse and calling people names.
Not doing much in adding to the sympathy vote here are you.
Why am I a fool btw aswell as a racist?

Clairebigfatsue · 23/09/2011 11:39

I have to say this thread is appalling it?s full of small minded people, it makes me ashamed. These so call ?educated? people need to open their minds instead of judging a community they know nothing about. If this was about any other race be that Black Caribbean, Asian and so on you would be classed as racist so could someone explain to me why some people feel this is acceptable

Well I have asked a few questions here of the dalefarm ladies who appear to be posting, and got no answers!

I only asked what your plans are now? And what do you think will actually happen today?

Just wondering, but I expect they are now bust their end

onagar · 23/09/2011 11:43

Dalefarmdolly

"onagar" I you would have bothered to read the whole thread you see this was a suggestion made by "niceguy2"

No it wasn't. I can read and I know what was actually said.

Lackine when you say they brought the land on 'an understanding' do you mean they bribed someone or do you mean it came to them in a dream that they'd get their way?

EmmaCummins

"Wasnt the whole arguement here that they were apparently "law breakers " and "criminals"?

Yes and they were and are "law breakers " and "criminals"?*. The law doesn't change because you don't like it.

GypsyMoth · 23/09/2011 11:44

Bust? Sorry, meant busy!!

WhollyGhost · 23/09/2011 11:57

Did anyone else here Justine on Question Time last night?

You need to go beyond the headline figures to work out if the number of refusals of planning permission mean anything - if the nature of the permission sought is different from the norm (and it clearly is), then you need to be careful you're not comparing apples and oranges.

Statistics 101

WhollyGhost · 23/09/2011 11:59

I expect the above to be deleted btw, and this

It is interesting how it is somehow considered racist to want everyone to be treated the same, regardless of ethnic background.

onagar · 23/09/2011 12:05

Even if you felt a law impacted on your more than on others it is still your duty to obey that law until it is changed.

So if you break it you are a criminal and will be treated as such.

niceguy2 · 23/09/2011 12:09

Exactly and i think i said the same on another thread somewhere. It's stupid to argue you are being victimised and people are being racist because 90% of your applications are rejected if what you are asking for in the first place is unreasonable.

It's like complaining everytime I hit a policeman, he arrests me therefore he's being sexist as he's not arresting women too. No, the problem is I shouldn't be hitting him in the first place!

onagar · 23/09/2011 12:35

laky, just a reminder that by being there they are breaking the law so the are criminals. I don't know where you got the idea that they were not?

laky · 23/09/2011 12:36

UP THE TRAVELLERS AND HERES HOPIN IF THE WORSE HAPPENS AND THEY HAVE TO GO THAT THEY'LL BE COMIN TO A FIELD NEAR U SOON Smile

onagar · 23/09/2011 12:39

laky, If he got planning permission then it wasn't illegal. However, if he broke the law then he should be persecuted,

None of that helps you as saying "let me carry on mugging this old lady cos other people do it" is no defence.

onagar · 23/09/2011 12:42

it's spelt 'prosecuted' Grrr

MrsRhettButler · 23/09/2011 12:59

So is it today that a decsision gets made?

I'm confused about 'legal' and 'illegal' parts of the site... So some is allowed to stay and some isn't? How big is the legal part?

laky · 23/09/2011 13:00

i think its half and half.

WhollyGhost · 23/09/2011 13:08

there was a bbc page linked to somewhere showing the legal and illegal parts

Anyways, nothing to be decided today, Travellers have lodged two more judicial reviews which will further delay the evictions

the real winners here are the lawyers

Dalefarmdolly · 23/09/2011 13:15

And the travellers...at least for this weekend anyway yaaaaaay wooo hooooo. Hopefully after that they will be given somewhere else to go thank god for this judge !!
