Enfield riots?

Just seen on Twitter and in a few articles like this, that there are meant to be plans for a riot in Enfield tonight and riot police are in the town centre?

Used to live there, and got family there (luckily a fair distance from the centre), but fucking hell! What the hell is going on?

Apparently Comet is also being looted.

They are also claiming Nando's is on fire, but then people were joking about flamegrilling Nando's on Twitter earlier, so I suspect that someone has read the joke tweets wrong.

Seen a couple more car on fire pics, but not sure where they are, if in Enfield at all.

Someone tweeted saying they overheard a police radio saying that a police officer had been stabbed, but no further info.

BBC still not reporting it.

A10 sounds bad now. Claims of petrol bombs being thrown at cars.

Edith There've been things where there is photographic proof and BBC has either not reported it, or took hours and hours to do so. So usually I'd agree with you, but at the moment..

bbc seem really slow at reporting these days. i suppose with twitter and everything, we're getting news at the same time as reporters.

can't help wonder what is with the media silence..... its definitely happening and yet its not really being reported - and these media teams have little reporting pods out there. its constant on twitter if you watch teh #enfield and other tags...... Just hope we have no more serious injuries tonight :(
