Just seen on Twitter and in a few articles like this, that there are meant to be plans for a riot in Enfield tonight and riot police are in the town centre?

Used to live there, and got family there (luckily a fair distance from the centre), but fucking hell! What the hell is going on?

camden being hit quite hard

janelikesjam · 09/08/2011 00:02

Oh sure no worries, SpdyGnzlz, sometimes its confusing!

I think this is very political. Ealing Shoppping Centre on fire (FGS).

Personally, I think it will awaken angry middle england (like me, only I'm a sweet Inner City version (perhaps). They've been pretty irriated for a while. What will be the outcome I don't know ....

bialy yy Smile
bloody hell hope matt and claire are ok. and ros and maria and all the rest
it's not just the shops/cafes they are all such LOVELY PEOPLE and it makes me really angry that some idiot can potentially just turn their dreams and hard work to dust.

TragicallyHip · 09/08/2011 00:02

Have heard that as well as Ealing Shopping center

Getting updates from here

Empusa · 09/08/2011 00:03

Very upset reporter in clapham talking about an entire building being engulfed in flames, she doesn't know if people are in there

teejwood · 09/08/2011 00:05

they are saying party superstore at clapham junction has gone up - bloody hell there is so much nylon etc in there it will disappear in a puff! hope any flats above have been evacuated.
the staff are always so lovely and cheery - and now they're out of work Sad.

Empusa · 09/08/2011 00:13

festi Just read that :(

Seconds before that I read a tweet saying "If somethings happens tonight, you can't call the police, they wouldn't be able to come :("

There's going to be a lot of opportunist crime (on top of the opportunist vandalism/looting) tonight :(

Ealing being hit very hard by the sounds of it. Thugs breaking into peoples houses. I can't say I feel very safe right now.

Empusa · 09/08/2011 00:15
