has anyone heard? seems to be all over Twitter but not on other media
apparently police cars burning

OP posts:
LDNmummy · 08/08/2011 19:06

Umm.. I didn't say they were Al0uise. I didn't specify anyone actually, I just commented that many people may have children involved without knowing it. So I would be cautious of thinking Water Cannons are they way to go. These are people's children regardless of the situation, risking blinding them or causing other serious bodily harm is not needed.

Nancy66 · 08/08/2011 19:09

LDNmummy - you are so wrong. This isn't some government protest - the looters and rioters are far too dim to even know who's in government.

It's thick, low IQ yobs seizing an opportunity to steal

samstown · 08/08/2011 19:12

Shamelessly pasted from the other thread but I think this sums it up really:

"rIf you're down for making money, we're about to go hard in east london tonight, yes tonight!! I don't care what ends you're from, we're personally inviting you to come and get it in. Police have taken the piss for too long and to be honest I don't know why its taken so long for us make this happen. We need a minimum of 200 hungry people. We're not broke, but who says no to free stuff. Doesn't matter if the police arrive cos we'll just chase dem out because as you've seen on the news, they are NOT ON DIS TING. Finders keepers and we all look after each other so if you see someone getting grab by feds then make sure we help stamp out that fuking PIG. M.O.B money over bobbies =D broadcast this to everyone you know and let's get paid!! RE SEND. LONDON MESSAGE" - Blackberry messenger

LDNMummy, if it really was about the youth of these areas standing up to the authorities, as you seem to be so convinced of, then why is all they are interested in getting their 'free stuff' even though 'We're not broke'. Who says no to free stuff eh Hmm

I may be out of touch with the disaffected youth of today - damn right I cannot understand how people can just mindlessly steal things that they havent worked for, without a second thought for the poor people whose businesses they are ruining in the process. It is utterly selfish and mindless.

Tsil · 08/08/2011 19:12

The police in this country can not use water canons, rubber bullets or tear gas, they are not allowed. The met police do have these but I believe it would have to be the PM/parliament that allowed them to use these items.

Marne · 08/08/2011 19:14

It might have started as a protest but i think now its just an exscuse for causing damage and trouble, most of the youths involed possibly have no idea about the goverment, they are more intrested in getting free clothes and trainers from JJB and getting there faces on FB and Twitter.

And i'm sure that they are not children of mnetters Hmm.

twinklypearls · 08/08/2011 19:14

I don't don't doubt that messages of that nature are being sent but I do wonder if that one is genuine. Seems rather long.

Empusa · 08/08/2011 19:16

"It might have started as a protest but i think now its just an exscuse for causing damage and trouble, most of the youths involed possibly have no idea about the goverment, they are more intrested in getting free clothes and trainers from JJB and getting there faces on FB and Twitter."

Definitely.

Absolute wastes of space.

Marne · 08/08/2011 19:19

So its ok for them to chuck bottles at police, ruin buisnesses, set fire to things (cras, shops, houses) but it would be wrong to use a water cannon as it could cause blindness? Hmm so lets just let the them trash everything and allow other youths around the uk to do exactly the same.

Surely its only going to get worse (if they can get away with it), they need to fire shots or use water cannons, yes people will get hurt but then that sreves them right, its the only way, at the moment these youths are in control not the police.

cookcleanerchaufferetc · 08/08/2011 19:25

We know they cant use water cannons etc, but there are a few of us who wish the police/army/MN posse could use them!

It has progressed to scum becoming even scummmier ....

So what if they are someone's child ... Myra Hindley was someone's child, Hitler was someone's child ..... should I feel for them?

I am so resisting the urge to tell some of these people just to open they fucking eyes, get real and wake up ......

cookcleanerchaufferetc · 08/08/2011 19:25

Oh oops, I just did!

Tsil · 08/08/2011 19:29

Cook for me I would use real bullets, these are not people and don't deserve to be treated as people but our police are limited by laws and that's what I think is wrong, we have the means so why can't they use them.

I saw the real thing in the 80sand this aint it. Feel sick at what is happening. I won't deny the deprivation and disaffection but these rioters are burning flats with people in them and queing up outside jd sports tottenham hale is retail park ffs! What makes me the sickest? That every fucking sterotype is being handed to the bigots and the bnp on a plate. Things will just get worse for my boys now. We had moved on somewhat and now black boys are the bogeyman yet again. Don't matter how many white, turkish, asian, polish men, girls, women involved it will be the masked up face of the young black man that will be the abiding image of this disgusting display of criminality

Marne · 08/08/2011 19:36

I agree Tsil, if our police could use guns etc.. then this would probably not be happening. I feel sorry for all the police men and woman trying to sort this when they don't have the correct equipment. Why in other contries (most of them) the police are allowed to have contact with the crowd and use guns but our police cant touch anyone?

I feel so sorry for the people that live in London that are scared to leave their houses and are fearing their homes and buisnesses will be set alight.

foxinsocks · 08/08/2011 19:38

We need heavy rain. If ever we could have heavy rain in this country, we need it now

I just hope to god no-one dies in these fires. People live above these shops fgs.

Police think it's only a few groups of people starting these fires and this chaos then moving onto the next area before police can catch them ffs.

crazynanna · 08/08/2011 19:38

Are you ok where you are Mrs D? Smile

crazynanna · 08/08/2011 19:40

I am in N4 Finsbury Park.

If anyone has elderly relatives/responsibilities around here, and cannot get in,I can help to check on relatives/shopping etc. Just yell

SomekindofSpanish · 08/08/2011 19:40

Agree, thefirstMrsDevere. That, and some believing that the whole of the Black community support this kind of behaviour Angry.

Nancy66 · 08/08/2011 19:41

The LAST thing we want is an armed police force.... i hope that never happens

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 08/08/2011 19:42

I cannot believe the little shits absolutely wrecking someone's car in Hackney. Someones fucking car. It makes me so angry. Stamping on the windscreen, draging it across the road, setting fire to it. And for what? Get in there and nick the lot of them.

niceguy2 · 08/08/2011 19:45

Do we have a Posse Comitatus law like in the US? Send in the army and give these thugs a good hiding.

jklikesrowing · 08/08/2011 19:45

mrsD true that comment, thats all people will see is the black youths and its out of order, my sis is in n4 too and ex lives in north london, the police are doing nothing and thats why it is continuing, look what happens in other countries when riots happen, our police just stand there waving thier shields about like the keystone cops, they are just human beings doing thier jobs to get paid so they can get food on thier tables too, mps need to get off thier richcat arses and stop sunning themselves on foreign holidays and get back and sort this country out.

Marne · 08/08/2011 19:47

Nancy- we already have armed police (is'nt that what started this?), its just the fact of where and when they can be used.

It makes me so angry to see peoples property being trashed for no reason, people have worked to pay for their houses, cars and buisnesses and these little shits are just destroying it all without a thought (just because they can).

Al0uiseG · 08/08/2011 19:48

You're so right about it being the real thing in the eighties. While I could never condone rioting it was an organic movement that grew from dissatisfaction and a desire to make things better. This years activity is an opportunistic slash and burn attempt with no desire to make anything better for anybody except themselves.

forehead · 08/08/2011 20:03

Totally agree with MrsD, despite the fact there are people of all races involved in the riot. The black men will suffer the consequences.
I just wish some of the so called community leaders would just admit that many of these people are just thugs.
