Hi all I am just posting this in order to keep Joannes name in the public domain- This case is very mysterious and so far the police have no real leads although her parents suspect she has been abducted!

The link is below-

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1341106/Distraught-parents-Jo-Yeates-plead-help-finding-missing-architect-daughter.html

Hopefully someone has the information needed to bring Joanna hope safe and well- her parents are distraught!

It looks like the police have arrested a 65 year old man!

seeker · 30/12/2010 08:37

Good. That's it. Stop posting now everybody.

MummieHunnie · 30/12/2010 08:38

Sky news on line saying it is the landlord that has been arrested! His story was not consistant, and the press yesterday were speaking a lot about his history, organisations he belonged to, him having blue hair in the past etc...

Wow.

That's horrible. I'm glad if they have the right person though.

Poor, poor girl.

tomorrowsanotherday · 30/12/2010 08:56

sparklyjewlz he has not been charged with anything yet.
can we all be very careful what we say now.

Lamorna · 30/12/2010 08:58

I think that this sort of thread should be removed right at the beginning. Idle speculation is quite sickening when it is about a real, grieving family.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 30/12/2010 09:02

Well said RealEyes!

I thought it seemed as though the police had a suspect in mind by the fact that they hadn't issued any warnings to other young women in the area. I really hope this latest development brings her family some peace although obviously nothing will make it better for them. RIP Joanna Sad

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 09:03

A few of us reported it last night. MNHQ have sent their standard response that they believe it ought to remain, and any contraventions of the usual rules need reporting but they feel it should be self moderated.

etc

winnybella · 30/12/2010 09:09

Reasonable response from MNHQ, I feel, given that finger-pointing posts have been deleted.

MummieHunnie · 30/12/2010 09:09

Flight attendant, your continual posting on the thread, is just pushing it up the active list. If the thread offends you, hide it and stop postin on it. To be frank, once someone is charged, the thread will probably end on it's own.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 09:10

Continual? Sorry?

MNHQ believe the thread should be self-moderating, MummieHunnie - that doesn't mean that you can tell people whether or not they should post, it means you can report posts which are distatsteful/offensive, etc.

K12Mom · 30/12/2010 09:20

So they've arrested her landlord, a former lecturer, on suspicion of murder. Gosh, I didn't see that coming, did anyone else?

onadietcokebreak · 30/12/2010 09:27

Yep saw it coming. He was telling reporters the police had blown what he said out if proportion.

The removal of the door was a factor in my suspcions too.

SlartyBartFast · 30/12/2010 09:30

rwemoval of a door?

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 09:31

I wondered why he hadn't come forward earlier iyswim. Also he was the last person to see her, as far as we knew.

and would have had the keys, and known her partner was away.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 09:32

He was also in a position of power, she would have agreed to go round to his, socially, so as to be polite.

Why the door thing?

MummieHunnie · 30/12/2010 09:34

Flight attendant, pot/kettle/black springs to mind with you!

onadietcokebreak · 30/12/2010 09:39

They have only just removed front door. Odd its taken til now to be removed. Are they looking into lock more carefully? Fingerprints on inside?

bubbleandsqueaks · 30/12/2010 09:48

I think people need to remember that this is someones daughter not an episode of Morse or Tagget. This is actually happening now to real people.

Her parents have lost their little girl and I can't even begin to imagine how that feels.

Some people need to step back and consider that

There are two pages of discussions in chat you may want to go and moderate.
