Hi all I am just posting this in order to keep Joannes name in the public domain- This case is very mysterious and so far the police have no real leads although her parents suspect she has been abducted!

The link is below-

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1341106/Distraught-parents-Jo-Yeates-plead-help-finding-missing-architect-daughter.html

Hopefully someone has the information needed to bring Joanna hope safe and well- her parents are distraught!

I saw pictures of him yesterday and thought he looked quite, well, happy and not disturbed iyswim- usually, if such a tragedy happened to your neighbour, you would look at least a bit disturbed/sad. The video of him confirmed my first impression. Also saying there were people leaving the flat etc- trying to divert attention elsewhere.

I was afraid of posting this though as not to be accused of being 'ghoulish' and insensitive etc.

Anyway, he hasn't been charged yet.

MummieHunnie · 30/12/2010 09:55

Winny, best not to discuss it on this thread, the finger pointers seem to deem it only "OK" to discuss on Chat and may tell you that your comments are out of order, where they are doing the very thing they were finger pointing on here at others themselves in Chat!

humanheart · 30/12/2010 09:55

thank God, thank God, thank God. I hope that's the end of it now that someone has been arrested and charged and the family can get on with their grieving in peace. So, so hard for them Sad

I think the police have done a good job, seemed to know what they were doing. Although the silence was hard for those of us desperate to make sense of it, it did seem that they were on to something.

I think people do, generally, care RealEyes and have engaged with this awful tragedy in a caring way, even if some of the comments on this thread have been raggedy and thoughtless. It must be hard for you to live so near - I now know (though I don't live so near Canynge Rd) how personal it feels when you are up close, how protective you feel.

Feenie · 30/12/2010 10:00

Humanheart, he has not been charged.

Pinetreeland · 30/12/2010 10:01

what could have been his motive though? She was found fully clothed...

landlord/tenant dispute?

tomorrowsanotherday · 30/12/2010 10:02

Where does it say he has been charged?
Is that a fact?

MummieHunnie · 30/12/2010 10:04

Tomorrow, fella, posted that on the last page. He was only arrested at 7am, I have no read anything about him being charged.

Goblinchild · 30/12/2010 10:06

He has been arrested and detained for questioning. Not charged.

tomorrowsanotherday · 30/12/2010 10:06

No I haven't read it anywhere either and I don't like that people are jumping to conclusions by the look of it

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2010 10:09

Do you think people in general are much happier thinking it could be the landlord rather than the boyfriend, brother or father say? Because the landlord is a bachelor and a bit odd - it makes our world view that bit more comfortable?

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 10:15

Definitely. I feel comfortable speculating about the landlord as he's been arrested already.

Also because he wasn't upset by it (well, he didn't look very upset). There's a very different slant to it now.

I also think people are very relieved.

MummieHunnie · 30/12/2010 10:17

Flight, why post about people on this thread on other threads, when you are posting incorrect information, you may want to read back a bit and offer an apology yourself!

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 10:19

Sorry?

SlartyBartFast · 30/12/2010 10:19

yes it is relieving that it may be the landlord.
someone who knew her
but not someone who was particularly close to her.

Pinetreeland · 30/12/2010 10:22

Although for those of us who are renting, it's still quite scary though as there are so many occassions you maybe alone with your landlord!

But definitely better than if it has been the boyfriend/dad etc...

Feenie · 30/12/2010 10:30

But he has only been arrested for questioning, FA. What if the police release him in the next hour? Will you feel as comfortable then?

K12Mom · 30/12/2010 10:37

I have just watched his interview with Sky News, and I have to say he is very plausible. I wouldn't be surprised if he was released without charge. Not sure if I hope I'm wrong or not, I just want the best outcome for Joanna and her family. Equally, though, it would be preferable for there not to be a dangerous murderer somewhere out there on the streets...

I haven't seen his interview, K12Mom, what does he say? I read some things online that seemed to contradict themselves last night, and he seemed to tell different neighbours different things, or they relayed his words differently?

I was just thinking about the parents, it would be better for them that just one correct arrest be made by the police, they need this particular bit to be over.

Pinetreeland · 30/12/2010 10:45

he told the neighbour that he saw joanna yeates with 2 people leaving the flat friday night. but then in the interview with the reporters yesterday he said he cannot confirm he's seen her that night.

tomorrowsanotherday · 30/12/2010 10:46

IF its him I hope the police have far more on him than what the media have said or he will be released without charge shortly

Pinetreeland · 30/12/2010 10:47

Although it's not impossible that he was arrested just because he was weird. Remembered in the Ipswich case they also wrongly arrested a guy who was speaking to the media weirdly.

ValiumTinselton · 30/12/2010 10:48

That might have been one of the reasons the police brought him in. Imagine knowing something in a high profile murder case, and chatting about it to neighbours but not telling the police.. Hmm

That would have had odd stamped all over it.
