I really really don't think anybody on this thread cares how the baby is being fed. That isn't the point. The point is the hypocrisy at Govt level.

What about if the PM had been photographed putting a child of his into an inappropriate car seat for the child's age, or a wrongly fitted car seat - against Govt recommendations? Tis only the same thing.

I object to having spent years tying myself in knots over a Govt recommendation that is clearly of no importance to the Govt of the day whatsoever. And anyone who doesn't think any photo op is meticulously staged is being naive.

Anyhow we're going round in circles.

Just showed the picture to DH, who is usually pretty sick and tired of me obsessing about breastfeeding. His first comment was - "why are they showing him with a bottle?!" It's clearly not just Mumsnetters who can see the inconsistency.

The man probably wants a quiet life.

It is very sensible not to tie yourself in knots over a government recommendation-do what comes naturally.

Francagoestohollywood · 11/10/2010 19:30

For a moment I thought he was feeding her Guinness.

nameymcnamechange · 11/10/2010 19:43

Gaelic, are you really obsessed about breastfeeding?

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 19:45

Preparing for a bashing here but I work in politics and have spent a great deal of time around the PM and his gorgeous wife. They are genuinely one of those couples who make you feel either incredibly lucky to have what you have or that deep pang of sadness if you're missing someone because the love between them and their kids is so obvious especially behind closed doors. Give Cameron a chance, he's inherited a complete mess and although I don't believe with the CB cuts, they have to fall somewhere. He's a good man who really, really loves his family and believes in what he's doing.

Oh rightyo then.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ha

usualsuspect · 11/10/2010 19:56

Is that you Nick ?

ScaryFucker · 11/10/2010 19:56

gaelic...I have issues about being a failed bf

but I managed (mostly) to put them to bed

and your analogy re. the car seats is a bit rubbish

an unsafe car seat...ergo formula feeding is unsafe ?? Is that what you meant ?

PelvicFloorTrauma · 11/10/2010 19:58

Foxytocin - why dont you grow a fucking brain, you brain dead moron.

violethill · 11/10/2010 19:59

The only message coming across loud and clear from this thread is that some MNers have too much time on their hands.

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 20:00

Foxytocin - why dont you grow a fucking brain, you brain dead moron.

See, it's post like this that keep me going.

So pithy, witty and erudite.

PelvicFloorTrauma · 11/10/2010 20:04

Hullygully - how would you like me to phrase it? Stuff like this is PATHETIC and I think my original comment expresses how little time I have for the OP. Apologies though if I have offended your bleeding heart socialist sensitivities. I suspect too that you wouldn't know something was erudite unless it kicked you in the face and announced itself.

Northernlurker · 11/10/2010 20:07

Hully - come on you haven't been as brutal as pelvic but you've made it very clear on this thread that you think anyone who disagrees with you is to thick to see when they're being played. That's pretty insulting too.

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 20:08

Have another drink, dear.

PelvicFloorTrauma · 11/10/2010 20:09

OK Hully - just read above and you are not a LEFTY. Hurrah.

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 20:10

The drink was to PFT

Northern - I regret that, I lost my normal load of love somewhere this morning. But I suppose that what you say is essentially true if regrettably expressed.

ScaryFucker · 11/10/2010 20:11

ooo sarcasm...just as cutting as all-out venom Grin

Beaaware · 11/10/2010 20:13

should'nt you be more worried about how much Sam paid for the dress she is wearing in the photo?

Gaelic, are you saying you breastfed because the Government told you to? And you wouldn't have done if they hadn't?

Seriously?

I don't believe you.

nameymcnamechange · 11/10/2010 20:38

PelvicFloorTrauma - is it possible that your eponymous condition has been caused by you busting a gasket over something you once read on an internet forum?
