Hullygully, no, it does not make you a realist but a hysterical nutter with mad penchant towards conspiracy theories.

How about this for the 'message': PM, who is a very busy man yet also a new father, feeding his new daughter, hence demonstrating the importance of involved fathers?

But nooooo, the sharp sickle up your anus, comrade, would never let you agree with a potentially positive message for all the runaway daddies this country is so full of.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 11/10/2010 10:59

"Wanna guess how the Prime Minister's baby is being fed?"

Er, no. Why would I?

What SamCam does with her breasts is her own business and I have no interest in how she uses them. Although topless modelling would be an unusual choice of career for a PM's spouse, so if she appeared on Page 3 I'd probably be interested to hear her rationale.

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 11:11

Hullygully, no, it does not make you a realist but a hysterical nutter with mad penchant towards conspiracy theories.

I could say that makes you a naive, gullible, woollyheaded fool who isn't very good at being rude.

But I'm not as rude as you, so I won't.

bluecardi · 11/10/2010 11:15

PiscesMoon - not like the real world of mum tired out looking after other kids & a new baby. The bigger message would be dc saying I'm here for my job by myself as my wife is at home looking after the kids.

Litchick · 11/10/2010 11:30

Hully - I can concede that you might be right and DC thought it would make a nice shot.

But you know what? We aint thick. We won't all go ooohhhh, what a nice man, now I support the graduation tax.

And whether DC meant to or not, what this does do, is put a positive picture out there of a high profile busy Dad, still making time for his kid.
And in my world that is a Good Thing.

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 11:39

Yes (Damascene Moment) I can see it now, all those feckless nogood dads out there rushing home to give the baby a bottle like dear old Dave does.

Or will they just think "Wanker" and carry on as they were?

bluecardi · 11/10/2010 11:44

LitChick - agree it's good he's there as a father but what would have better for me would have been him saying that he'd called home & everything was fine.
But if it had been a mther as prime minister bf or bottle feeding before her big speach I'd have thought good for you taking your baby to work. So I should think the same about a dad with his baby at work.

Who cares, its not our business and him posing for a pic doesnt make it our business. She can do what she wants, why the judgement towards a woman who has clearly been through a horrendous experience. Leave her alone and stop picking on people who dont do exactly what you think they should.

booooooooooyhoo · 11/10/2010 12:13

do i want to know? no
do i care? no
is it any of my business? no
is it anyone else's business? no

but jsut to humour you, i will have a guess.

i guess......MILK!!!!!!!

OH look, i was right. imagine that, a baby being fed milk.

Hmm
Arewenearlythereyet2009 · 11/10/2010 12:18

I'm not interested in whether the baby is breastfed or bottle fed, despite my preference to breastfeed.
She may have had trouble with breastfeeding, we can't judge her on what we don't know facts about IMO.

I agree, Pennies, shockingly poured Guinness!

Rollmops interested to know why my post was UTTERLY STUPID,MEAN and CRUEL.

Was it
a)because I couldn't care less what DC's baby is fed on

b)because his baby pics won't sway me into forgetting he's taking best part of £200 a month away from my kids

c)because I think using your baby for political gain is pretty low

or d) because I don't find said baby cute. Sorry not into drooling over other people's baby pics, this is no different to any others imvho.

Just a little curious as I wasn't aware having any of the above views made one into a monster.

scotsmuminengland · 11/10/2010 14:07

Who cares if it is FF. I BF my son for a couple of weeks and it was hell. I tried expressing and it was hell. I went on to FF and it was pure bliss. If I fell pregnant again I would FF and I wouldn't feel guilty one bit!

nameymcnamechange · 11/10/2010 14:24

Hully (I know you've gone) - you appear to be frustrated that we are not having a debate about Dave and Sam posing with their cute baby in a cynical attempt to make us love/forgive him .

But, as Litchick says, I think most of us are immune to this sort of manipulation and are perfectly well aware that this is a posed photo - and those of us who are not Tory supporters will probably be more bothered by the staginess of it than those who are "on message" with Dave.

But most people on this thread want to talk about the OP's post, which was about what was in the bottle. That was the point of the thread - I think you actually want to talk about something else.

Rindercella · 11/10/2010 14:54

namey, your point sort of leads me back to a comment I made far earlier in this thread: that foxy et al seem to be using this photo op to serve their own agenda. Hully is no different. The irony of this has not escaped me.

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 15:14

namey. Yes I do, or rather I did. I'm afraid I had rather a cross and intolerant morning, but it's gone now.

pommedeterre · 11/10/2010 15:18

Also - on the white/yellow milk comment - it looks like a BornFree bottle which have an amazing ability to make even the whitest milk look duck coloured.

nameymcnamechange · 11/10/2010 16:41

I'm glad you are not cross any more Hully. Did you sprinkle yourself with glitter?

tetHearsend · 11/10/2010 18:54

Hully, have you thought about substituting glitter for powdered glass?

We all have to make cutbacks, you know. The country can't afford for you to just sprinkle glitter willy-nilly Wink

Hullygully · 11/10/2010 18:56

I've been too depressed for glitter since the advent of the Conalition.

TethHearseEnd · 11/10/2010 19:01

No!

Remember the old adage?

You can't polish a turd, but you can sprinkle glitter on it

Never has it been more relevant than in these testing times.

Be strong.

happiestblonde · 11/10/2010 19:04

Preparing for a bashing here but I work in politics and have spent a great deal of time around the PM and his gorgeous wife. They are genuinely one of those couples who make you feel either incredibly lucky to have what you have or that deep pang of sadness if you're missing someone because the love between them and their kids is so obvious especially behind closed doors. Give Cameron a chance, he's inherited a complete mess and although I don't believe with the CB cuts, they have to fall somewhere. He's a good man who really, really loves his family and believes in what he's doing.

TethHearseEnd · 11/10/2010 19:06

There you go, Hully. If that doesn't cheer you up, nothing will.

ninah · 11/10/2010 19:07

I think she is being fed pureed jobseeker
