It's politics though. Of course it goes on. Why be all shocked about it.

violethill · 10/10/2010 20:58

So deconstruct it more intelligently than starting an OP with 'guess what's in the bottle' ffs

scottishmummy · 10/10/2010 20:59

a cheap shot about how baby is feed, inference being it is
a)noteworthy
b)political stunt
c)likely to subvert others bf

dont care how they feed flo, or how her wee bahookie is covered.dont care of she is clothbummed or a lil landfiller

nameymcnamechange · 10/10/2010 20:59

Its just a standard smug Sam n Dave photo. Politicians from all parties are equally guilty of putting out equally smug pictures. I disagree that it needs deconstructing.

I have found the most amusing post on this thread to be the one from the poster who thinks this is Dave pushing a ff agenda.

scottishmummy · 10/10/2010 21:01

well that would buy into the hysteria about ff companies.dem bastards are everywhere with subliminal messaging and staged photos.only us public are too fick to realise - good job we got conspiracy theorists to emmm educate us

Bonsoir · 10/10/2010 21:01

I don't want to see pictures of DC and his baby, other than the odd official picture to satisfy the curiosity of the rabble public.

I wish the Camerons would keep Florence out of the public eye.

Portofino · 10/10/2010 21:04

Politicians of all flavours manipulate the media to show them in their best light. Twas always thus, and always will be. There are armies of people employed to ensure this happens. Ignore, ignore, ignore. What IS important is policy and acts passed through parliament. The rest is guff.

Nancy66 · 10/10/2010 21:05

I think I can safely say that the OP of this thread is top of my twat-o-meter today.

Northernlurker · 10/10/2010 21:06

Hullygully - the problem with deconstructing the photo is that you will also be deconstructing the private and personal choices made by two parents. Now sure Samantha Cameron allowed the photo to be taken and (we assume) used - even so is it fair to attack her for a choice when we don't know what that choice is or what any of the factors acting on her were?

scottishmummy · 10/10/2010 21:06

aye,the op is topofthepops twattastic

orsinian · 10/10/2010 21:08

Well I have read the 11 pages, and there is absolutely a malicious thread runnng through some of the posts.

I think the reason for the thread being raised is more interesting than its supposed subject. Is is because some simply object to Samantha having another child?

The desperate attempts to demonize DC seems to know no bounds - will both the parents and the children be subject to such intrusions? Is that where we are, right here, right now?

So, how long before the next thread? What little private matter will be determined to be in the public interest because DC is apparently 'evil'. What sick little discussion will be entertained in a desperate effort by some sick little bunny as absolutely the most crucial subject of all subjects to raise?

Hey, it's all entertainment ain't it?

For some.

Northernlurker · 10/10/2010 21:09

It's not all bad - I got a marriage proposal out of this thread. Grin Thanks Ruby but I don't think it would work out Grin

ScaryFucker · 10/10/2010 21:09

Grin @ sm

JuJusDad · 10/10/2010 21:11

Has anyone mentioned that pint of Guinness? Looks like he hasn't a clue about letting it settle (for the blatantly staged photo), as there's no way it could get like that after a couple of gobfulls. Prat.

As you were... Grin

Georgimama · 10/10/2010 21:17

As I've said elsewhere, he is a Guinness drinker (DH bought him a pint after the Bristol leaders debate during the election) so either was in process of chugging it down in one go (possible) or was so desperate for a drink he drank it unsettled (bleurgh but possible).

whomovedmychocolate · 10/10/2010 21:22

As you were Grin

scottishmummy · 10/10/2010 21:37

have heard some grannies swear dr recommended guinness and sweetheart stout when pg. iron content apparently

penona · 10/10/2010 21:43

I am also more concerned about the Guinness. It looks terrible!

gaelicsheep · 10/10/2010 21:47

I'm afraid I haven't the will to read the whole thread, so sorry if I'm repeating. But this really does matter because it demonstrates how low down breastfeeding comes on the political agenda, despite the obvious health benefits. It is irrelevant what was in the bottle. The point is that so much planning goes into every photo opportunity - what message to give etc. - that it's inconceivable that DC would have been photographed with a bottle at all if anyone in the Govt cared a jot about breastfeeding rates.

But I guess if people stop formula feeding the Govt's VAT take will go down.

gaelicsheep · 10/10/2010 21:48

IGNORE LAST SENTENCE. NO VAT ON THINGS LIKE THAT. DUUUUUGH.

Georgimama · 10/10/2010 21:50

I think you have to be very very MN centric to read anything anti anything into the fact DC has a photo taken feeding his daughter with a bottle. I think the disconnect between some posters on this board and how 99% of people think and view things is immense.

DC has said his wife is mixed feeding their daughter. It isn't actually anyone's business and I doubt any "message" about feeding was intended whatsoever.

scottishmummy · 10/10/2010 21:53

jesus wept conspiracy theorists see ff promotion in everything.aha so dc is promoting ff to bolster govt coffers? despite fact ff is vat free

this is risible

what next if flo wears a disposable nappy is dc on paybooks of landfill disposal

oh is sam trying to make us all buy paul smith

is guinness running the country

gaelicsheep · 10/10/2010 21:57

Georgimama - that's my point. BF promotion if Govt policy. If it was in any way on their radar the message would have been considered.

scottishmummy · 10/10/2010 22:00

reading waaay to much into a staged photo.think the message is supposed to be MrC AverageHardWorkingHandsOnDude feeds the wean and has a bevvy

any other interpretation is being purposefully obtuse
